@Millettmum good luck xx

Smiffette · 04/07/2020 18:55

@umabb it's interesting . You should say that and stopping infacol, I got some last week as she was struggling with pooping and getting wind up following the hot weather, but then she seemed to be equally as upset in the late afternoon and evening so today I didn't give her any infacol and she's been absolutely fine and even sleeping again in the afternoon. She had stopped having an afternoon nap when the infacol was given and when she was so upset

BabyBird20 · 04/07/2020 19:51

Argh boob pain!! It's getting worse and accompanied by a headache with a bright red patch on one boob! Weird though as both are painful so I'm not convinced it's mastitis as don't you normally just get that in one? Urgh I don't know what to do for the best!

mrssunshinexxx · 04/07/2020 19:55

@BabyBird20 can you have a hot bath?

mrssunshinexxx · 04/07/2020 19:55

@BabyBird20 can you have a hot bath?

BabyBird20 · 04/07/2020 20:45

@mrssunshinexxx I'll try that next, have tried heat packs, paracetamol, ibuprofen, hand expressing etc so far!

Missgemini · 04/07/2020 21:04

@BabyBird20 please discuss with GP or HV/midwife asap. Having a red patch sounds like something to be checked out.
I hope the painkillers are helping xx

Pegase · 04/07/2020 22:12

@BabyBird20 do you have any lumps that need massaging out?

mrssunshinexxx · 05/07/2020 02:29

@BabyBird20 also feed on all fours and fldangle the boob over the baby apparently that really helps with any blocked ducts

BabyBird20 · 05/07/2020 02:46

Thanks ladies! Just woken up in even more pain woth a bigger red patch and a headache. Will keep up with the heat packs, massage etc and ring 111 in the morning 😩😩😩 Wasjust starting to get into the swing of feeding too 😭😭

BabyBird20 · 05/07/2020 12:18

Spoken to a doc via 111 and he thinks it is mastitis so now on more antibiotics!!

APD1981 · 06/07/2020 03:30

@babybird20 ah sorry you're not well again but glad you got checked over. How are you feeling now?x

mrssunshinexxx · 06/07/2020 11:29

How's everyone doing ? Time is going so fast my little lady is 11 days old today makes me so emotional I wish she could stay this small for 6 months even with the sleep deprivation I don't care it's going too fast.
I have started reading to her now and I love it just a sweet moment of bonding she is just the best x

BabyBird20 · 06/07/2020 11:43

Thanks @APD1981 I'm starting to feel a bit more human now though still haven't managed to clear the lump! So painful!! Hopefully I'll be able to shift it today!

@mrssunshinexxx I know the feeling!! While the nights are never ending sometimes, the weeks have flown by so quickly!! Benji is 4 weeks this week and feels enormous! He's grown out of his newborn clothes!! 😱😱

mrssunshinexxx · 06/07/2020 12:02

@BabyBird20 noooo I'm dreading that! She has the most gorgeous summer rompers and dresses in upto a month and the weathers crap will be gutted if I can't get her in any! Xx

APD1981 · 06/07/2020 12:14

This weather is doing my head in! Freddie has some gorgeous rompers and short legged dungarees that I'm really hoping to get him in. They're in 0-3 so I'm hoping the weather will pick up at some point. He's just about grown out of newborn now (😭) but most 0-3 are a bit big still. I hate how he's growing so fast but love seeing his face fill out and develop. Plus he's getting more and more alert and I'm loving seeing him interact a bit.

mrssunshinexxx · 06/07/2020 12:55

We've said no one holding her until 8 weeks when she's had her immunisations but I'm dreading it I don't want mil holding her at all it's obviously to do with losing my mum but she has also been a knob

BabyBird20 · 06/07/2020 13:27

@APD1981 aww how old is Freddie now? I've been so disorganised I have a massive box of clean baby clothes in our bedroom that I never got round to sorting and putting away so there's a fair few newborn outfits he never had a chance to wear!! Must make sure I vary his 0-3 outfits more!!
I love the happy alert times now, getting more used to finding ways to occupy him with things too!
@mrssunshinexxx we've let a few people have cuddles, only those who have also been shielding for a while! That's annoying about your Mil! Can you put her off for a bit longer?

Gigitree · 06/07/2020 13:28

@mrssunshinexxx I sympathise so much, I haven’t lost my mum but I’m still struggling with my MIL for some reason. She is in the extremely vulnerable category so has been shielding since March and lives on her own so can technically be in our ‘bubble’ and therefore hold our little one, but for some reason I really don’t want her to cuddle our baby and I really can’t put my finger on why!

We are going to let close family, just my parents and siblings cuddle her so long as they wear and mask and gloves, purely because it seems insane to me not to let them do that when we were readmitted to hospital on day 5 and everyone and his dog were handling our newborn and the only PPE they had on were gloves and masks!

Gigitree · 06/07/2020 13:32

Baby Grace has got into a pattern of sleeping really well in the daytime - she can go for about four hours before we have to wake her up for a feed) as recommended by the midwife to make sure she increases her weight) but then at nighttime she is so unsettled and when she does finally fall asleep as soon as I put her down she wakes up!
Any tips on how we can get her to switch daytime and nighttime behaviour? She’s 16 days old now (wow that is crazy where has the time gone!?) x

APD1981 · 06/07/2020 14:43

@Babybird20 he was 4 weeks last Friday. Time I'd just flying!

@Gigitree we started freddie on a night time routine from 3 weeks. About 8 ish (depends on feeds and naps) we bath him, story, feed, bed. We dim all the lights and shut the curtains and only whisper to each other. We try not to talk to the baby too much either so as not to engage him. This routine coincided with getting him on Colief drops and he's been so much better at going back to sleep in his crib after his feeds at night since. He wakes for 3 feeds (11-12ish, 2-3ish, 5-6ish) and falls asleep feeding and goes straight back in his crib. I've also found wrapping him in a cellular blanket rather a sleeping bag etc. works much better for him. Not quite swaddling because he likes his arms out but all wrapped up otherwise. I think it makes him feel safer.

Mj2196 · 06/07/2020 15:53

Jamie is a month old today time is flying . His 0-3 fit well & are getting slightly snug the chunk 🙈

He doesn’t settle well in the day but is sleeping great at night doing 3 hour blocks so I don’t mind .

We’re going to get registered on Wednesday how exciting ! We told fil we are giving him his name for middle name , he had a little cry bless him

mrssunshinexxx · 06/07/2020 16:55

@Gigitree @BabyBird20 I'm going to try not worry about it for now easier said than done but she's not even 2 weeks yet and hopefully in laws will do something else dick ish before then and then I won't have to worry about it as we won't be seeing them they are on their last strike with me I'm not taking anymore shitty comments or being upset by any one let alone them weeks after losing my best friend and mum.

Penelope is now over her birth weight so I'm feeling very proud as BF is not easy bc

HaichMal · 06/07/2020 16:58

Sorry I've not been on here much this past week. I've been up and down mood wise and struggling a little, which tends to mean I retreat and don't really talk to people. We were diagnosed with thrush last Monday and things started to get better - Charlotte was feeding for longer, was more settled during the feed and settled better after too. She even went in her crib for 2 nights for 1 or 2 sleeps , which was a first. Then this weekend, we've gone down hill again. Today she's only fed for 2-5 mins at a time and won't really settle except in my arms, and most of her feeds are fussy too. My breasts are still a little sore but no where near what they were last Monday. I'm annoyed at myself for not managing to ring infant feeding or the doctors this morning and now it's too late, so we're going to have to wait until tomorrow now.

Charlotte is 4 weeks tomorrow. I think I'm pretty healed but my muscles are not happy. I really need to do my pelvic floor exercises and build my core back up because my back and hips are not liking standing or walking for long and I'll need to be able to do more with the boys ASAP as DH is back at work from Wednesday.

I'm sorry about the mastitis @BabyBird20 and hope you're doing better

How are you @Pegase?

Hope everyone is doing well on the whole

BabyBird20 · 06/07/2020 17:28

Awww @Mj2196 look at him!! So cute!! We managed two 2 hour blocks over night last night and I could've cried it was such a relief after being awake two full nights the nights before!! We have it the opposite way round, he'll sleep 4 hours in the day with lots going on around him but barely at all overnight!! So exciting to get registered! We managed to get an appointment later in July for ours.

@APD1981 time is really flying isn't it!! Benji is the same in that he loves to be swaddled but has to have one hand free to touch his face! I am wondering if we need colief, he gets so upset after feeding, particularly if laid on his back. He coughs and splutters and goes rigid. Might also be silent reflux!
