Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ratfly · 01/10/2007 16:11

Lal - yeah, it's me that is the teacher.

laughalot · 01/10/2007 16:24

Oh ratfly pleeeeeessssee make me feel better I went to pick ds up from nursery today he only started on 19th sep he was 3 in july I asked teacher how his day was and she said he has been pushing other children I could have just burst into tears on the spot. She also said that she is making him sit next to her a t the minute at storytime as he tends to want to get up and play. I feel like a bad mummy with a naughty boy.

theUrbanDryad · 01/10/2007 17:48

Kw3 - so sorry to hear your sad news. i'm watching Z chase a ball round the floor and i just feel so incredibly lucky to have him. i'll try and remember this feeling at 3am!

laughalot · 01/10/2007 19:23

Urban very cute

Dragonhart · 01/10/2007 19:49

Laughalot- that sounds like all the children at the toddler groups I go to! Sounds totally normal to me. My mum works in a preschool and she says that they all have trouble sitting still, especially if they are in a group with children who are older than them and able to sit for longer periods of time. Was she telling you it was a problem or just explaining what they were doing to help him? He's not been there long so is prob just getting the hang of it.

ratfly · 01/10/2007 20:03

lal - I generally don't work with children quite as young as 3, but I do hear a lot from 'down that end'. Firstly, he is 3 (and a young 3 at that) and he has only been in a nursery environment for not even 2 weeks. So don't be too hard on yourself or him - he is learning to be independent, and this takes a loooonnnggggg time.

This is very normal behaviour - I would be really surprised if any boy DIDN'T get told off for pushing others at some time! The thing is to talk to him (nicely, not a telling off) at home about it, and see if he can empathise with those he was pushing. And as for wanting to play when it's story time - well, some of my Year 3s do that! (and I want to join them some times ;) It IS very difficult for little kids to sit still - remind me of this tomorrow when I am shouting at them to sit still! - and sitting next to the teacher means the teacher can help ds to sit still while still carrying on and reading the story.

Really, nothing to worry about, he just has to settle into new routines etc. And he is still sooooo young! It always makes me giggle when I see the YR kids coming in a wiggly, wobbly 'line' to assembly - I think it takes about 2 years for the kids to learn school routines! hth

ratfly · 01/10/2007 20:03

or I could have put it much more concisely like Dragonhart did

Dragonhart · 01/10/2007 20:11

Oh no ratfly, there is definately much more knowledge behind your message!

Now, can anyone tell me how to stop my 2yo screetching at the top of his voice? ALL DAY!!!???

Dragonhart · 01/10/2007 20:12

What was the budget for the secret santa? I have seen the perfect present for mine but think it is £1.75 over budget.

eandh · 01/10/2007 20:15

UMMM was it £7.50 or a tenner????

Dragonhart · 01/10/2007 20:20

boooooo! Will have to keep looking then!

laughalot · 01/10/2007 20:21

Thanks ratfly that has helped I am just one of those people who panics really easily.

Dragon thanks for your advice too.

I think secret santa was a tenner but I could be wrong. My secret santa will be buying me a how not to get stressed when your little one starts school

LadyTophamHatt · 01/10/2007 20:22

it was a tenner I think DHart.

Kat, i'm not sure what to say

UD, you're actually encouraging him to walk you know?? buing that walker thingamijig....you nutcase

Ds4 isn't crawling yet(thank the lord), he gets about easily enough, kind of commando style and rolling. Thats fine with me...it takes him an age to get anywhere
He's got a cold ATM mo too, isn't it odd how they all seem to have colds together.

Not much else to report here.
Our buyers came round again tonight and we've jad a sneeking suspicion all day that tehy are either going to pull out or ask fro more money off. Cheeky F*ckers. The estate agaent had left a message at 5:49pm after they'd been so there is something they want to tell/ask us.

really quite bored with MN atm, si anyone else?

ratfly · 01/10/2007 20:32

I have to cheer you up with my crappy day today.

Dad came over, so I took the opportunity to nip down town. I have just got some cream for S, a flannel and some teething powders, all for about 2 quid, and feeling VERY pleased with myself, when there was a powercut. The whole town was out. So got ushered out of the shop onto the street. Where it was raining, and I was in a vest and blouse.
So I went home.

Where I found out that my sink and washing machine have become good friends and are sharing water. So I rinse the nappies and the water comes up into the sink. YUK!!! But it dispersed after a couple of minutes, so I go to put the nappies out. And I find the water has 'dispersed' back into the washing machine, and now out onto the kitchen floor / my feet. And I had S following me round squawking at me while I am trying to clear all the water off the floor.

So, we have cleaned out the pipes (more YUK!) and it STILL isn't draining. Great. So I can't do any washing, and Ihave aload of pooey nappies waiting to be done, and some more in the machine. And I'm at work over the next couple of days, so can't sort it out.

Bloody crappy day!!!!

Dragonhart · 01/10/2007 20:32

Dont they say that women who live together end up having their periods at the same time? Maybe it is like that for babies and colds on the Jan thread?

eandh · 01/10/2007 20:34

i was thinking that earlier lth (apart from this thread and the weight thread i am on) i struggle to find many things to post on, if i do post normally get disagreed with etc so doesnt always seem worth it

Dragonhart · 01/10/2007 20:36

Oh dear Ratfly! Quite literally a crappy day!

Wilkie · 01/10/2007 20:48

Very quickly skimming post cos am off for a bath

LTH - MN is getting dull ATM, not this thread but the rest of it. It can be a nasty/bitchy place and I'm getting bored of it.

£10 is Secret Santa limit

Back later x

LadyTophamHatt · 01/10/2007 20:50

TBh I don't use Mn for debate and all the heavy shit. I use it for a laugh, and wind down after the boys are in bed or if Dh is at work....but theres bugger all to laugh about on here ATM.

I'm BORED!

LadyTophamHatt · 01/10/2007 20:53

Jesus christ, I've just looked at all my photos on my photo and

I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo broody.

The 2 right at the very bottom (of DS4, not the one of me) make me feel quite tearful.

ToadieG1 · 01/10/2007 21:14

Like my new name for halloween?

I need to catch up but you all post too much lol. Dh just walked in from football and he stinks erghh lol.

ToadieG1 · 01/10/2007 21:14

Ooh I have some lovely pics to post, need to put them on webspace first though, probably tomorrow or later.

Lizzzombie · 02/10/2007 08:43

Ratfly - you poor thing! You definately win the prize for the worst day yesterday. Hope today is better.

Jodie! I was wondering where you had got to. How is things with you? Any more business plans to tell us?

Call me a scuzz bag but there is a woman on GMTV at the moment who cant last past a day without shaving her legs or bikini line?? WTF! A day is nothing!

I'm going to my parents this weekend for my Mums 60th and thought I would look for a baby photo of me. Thought it would be amusing if we all posted baby photos of ourselves to see the difference between us and LOs?

Dragonhart · 02/10/2007 11:01

That's really scary Lizz as my mum gave me a photo this weekend of me looking very much like Ruth and I was going to suggest the same!
