2Happy · 20/09/2007 15:17

Oh doesn't he look smart!!!
The villa looks lovely.
I have an idea for my secret santa, and I keep thinking I need to start thinking about the christmas shopping. comes round quickly doesn't it?? Did it mostly online last year, I was far too big to think about hefting myself round overcrowded overheated shops! And now I have ds2 as a good excuse not to go!

Eah is the super organised one she has all the kids things in the loft knowing her they are probably wrapped and have the tags on .

Im pleased with who I have got for the secret santa its just what I might like she might hate .

hi everyone - bit of a drama here today as i thought i broke my toe. i haven't, it's just badly bruised, but it blardy hurts! dh and i had a massive row about the MN Xmas do, he doesn't want me to stay out all night because then he'd have to look after Z, but i don't see the point of going all the way up to London to have a couple of hours then get the last train home!! i don't wanna go on my own either, would feel like total billy no mates walking into a massive room by myself. he has been fab looking after me with my poorly toe, but i wish he could see that i need a proper night out, without thinking that i need to catch the last train home so i can do night feeds etc. every time i've scheduled some time for me without Zac to do something with my friends something's come up. it's doing my head in. i'm starting to wonder whether i've done the right thing by exclusively bf-ing and not allowing to have formula. if he had been ff-ed would dh be more involved?

sorry for long and rambly post - loving the new thread 2Happy, good to see you back as well. LaL , the villa looks amazing, and A looks so cute in his uniform. i need to upload some more pcis, but it means using dh's laptop as mine doesn't have bluetooth and i can't be arsed!!

eandh · 20/09/2007 16:24

afternoon, well thread title doesnt apply to me as I have legs like tree trunks from years of trampolining so no skinny jeans

LAL They aren't wrapped just yet, but did buy loads of paper in the sales (the day before I went in to have my section!) Well done to Aiden super cool dude in his uniform (he is having a great effect on Ellie as she didnt have time to say bye today!)

UD sorry to hear you are a bit down I can see your point re xmas meet up as its a long way for you plus you can relax and not worry about time etc. I dont think if you ff it would have made such a huge difference and you should be proud that you manage to bf! Hope toe feels better soon

Hello 2happy/galmum/annieapple nice to hear from you all.

Well me cutting down laptop time and dh cutting down footie is going really well, to the point that DH has cancelled his birthday boys night out (alays goes out with his mates for a bender) and instead we are all going out for a meal (well except one set of friends who cant make it) I am so excited its been Ages since we have all got together child free, its sat 13th oct and everyone has babysitters booked a mexican restaurant outside of town (its in small villagE) and everyone getting taxis etc I am counting weekends down already (and assuming pil can have girls overnight if not my parents or brother/gf will probably have them)

Right need to cook tea

Lizzzombie · 20/09/2007 16:24

You used my thread title idea! Yay! Its like I am famous!

geoRGEEweasley · 20/09/2007 18:22

Massive panic yesterday. Internet connection didn't work. I had visions of a DH-free weekend (he's off to a stag do) and me sat staring at a PC which didn't work. Thankfully, DH fixed it. Phew!

EaH glad preschool went well. Did E get to keep the painted wellies? Sounds a fab idea. And since your earlier post, I have been pondering the idea of getting a slow cooker (another kitchen gadget - I am sooo addicted to kitchen gadgets!). Beef stew and dumplings sound nom nom. How do you make dumplings?

Kat - missed you birthday! Hope you had a good un! You having a party next year?

geoRGEEweasley · 20/09/2007 18:22

And 2H, if everyone's not bored after that post, I really must try harder

ratfly · 20/09/2007 18:25

well done on the thread title, and I love your nickname LZ!!

UD - did you get a toe xray? DH broke his toe, and the bruise was tiny, so it's worth getting it checked out if you havent. bloody dh's - mine is never involved as much as I'd like, and S is ff, so I'm sure exclusive bf isn't an issue. And well done for still doing it at 8 months . Hope you get it sorted - you deserve a night out!

EAH - Can't believe you were organised to buy paper when you were still pregnant! I always wish I did get stuff in the sales, and never do.. Your night out sounds like it'll be fab!

I am having such a hard time with S at the mo. He is waking at 6 and not napping for longer than about 30 mins (though bizarrely he slept for 1 1/2 hours today, which totally threw me). He is so wearing - I want to go back to work for more days a week

geoRGEEweasley · 20/09/2007 18:29

BTW have just bought this for DH's Xmas stocking

Both girls knackered and were asleep by 6.15 tonight (hattie fell asleep on the wooden floor from sheer exhaustion)

rgee sometimes I make dumplings (will post recepie later) or if I am lazy buy the 'aunt bessies' frozen ones they are yummy (also you could just chuck it all in a pyrex bowl and put in the oven, I tend to ccok mine for 7-8hours on a very very low gas mark (have a slow cook option on my oven)

geoRGEEweasley · 20/09/2007 18:59

EaH - just bought a slow cooker. Like the idea of getting home from work and the smell of beef and dumplings wafting around the house....

LAL - just looked at A in his uniform. He looks so smart! Where did you go on holiday to (not sure how I missed that?!) - your villa looks lovely, and it looks lovely and warm...

we still havent got around to booking our next holiday. We used to go backpacking before S came along - just kind of turning up in a country and hoping... Don't think I would be happy doing that now! I think we need to do a 'proper' holiday with an apartment etc now, so were thinking of going to Barcelona... Now, just to find dh's credit card

Wilkie · 20/09/2007 19:37

I'm really sorry but you have been chatting too much and I can't be arsed to do personals.

Not much to report other than have been having anxiety/rage/depression attack the past 3 days (PMT) - ADs don't do a lot at this time of the month. Have had a constant nagging anxiousness in the pit of my stomach for no reason. It's awful.

Also, am having major guilt issues at the moment because I enjoy being at work more than being at home with J. Is that normal? I love my days at home when DH is off too and we have a family day but I find days on my own with J very hard work and I feel terribly guilty about it

Sorry for shit post, bit maudling. DH off out tonight so will be around if anyone wants a natter either on here or MSN.

2Happy · 20/09/2007 20:06

Been feeling a bit shitty too wilks, and just broke down on dh when he got in from work this evening

Hey ho, a glass of wine and a hot bath later, and I feel much better. Well, miserable and tipsy rather than just miserable. That's better, isn't it?!

OP posts:
2Happy · 20/09/2007 20:13

UD - have you seen June 07 PN thread title?? Apt, I think. One night off, ffs!

OP posts:
ratfly · 20/09/2007 20:49

I think we are all feeling the toll of looking after active 8 months olds. Wilkie, I feel exactly the same, including the guilt! I never felt like I needed a beer more than I did tonight.

LadyTophamHatt · 20/09/2007 21:31

Evening all, been a shite day here too. Raging PMT and an annoying DH Do NOT make a good mix.

PMT this bad, this early in the month has freaked me out abit TBH. Only finish my period about 5-6 days ago so that means it got about 14 days to get worse and worse before the next one arrives.
God help the entire population of East Sussex is all I can say!

UD, the xmas party doo-dah is hanging by a thread here now. I've just heard from the other MNer who was going to travel with me and she can't go now either ([hmm....maybe its me, both of you can't go and both told me today... ) but our house move is also hanging by a thread too ATM so although night out on the razz would be great I really don't know if I'm going to be able to when the time comes IYSWIM. Dh has been a miserable fuck all day and I know it all to do with the house....FFS

Wilkie, don't worry about enjying being out at work more. If J is happy, safe and having fun etc etc(which I'm positive he is) then that all you need to thnk about. Isn't it better for him to have a happy mum who goes off to wrk for X amaount of time then one who find it harder wotk being at home....thats not worded every well but ykwim.

2happy, you really watch some shite telly don't you??

I'm sure there was more I was going to say but forgotten it al now...

trixymalixy · 20/09/2007 21:32

Hello!!

another rare post from me.

Had DS allergy tested today and he's allergic to milk (which was no surprise) egg and cats. So it looks like we're going to have to get rid of our cats which I'm pretty gutted about.

On the upside they might be the reason that he sleeps so badly so I might get a good night's sleep for a change.

DS is still not showing any signs of crawling yet, beginning to get a bit worried as he is getting quite good at standing so looks like he might go straight to walking, but I was reading a study that says that this is bad for their hand and arm development if they never crawl. So I have him doing baby press ups every day LOL!!

Thought he was ahead of the game waving, but it sounds like he's just average.

I'm sure he said cat today though ... beat that !!!

Bit disappointed that I've missed the secret santa, you're all too well organised it's only September FFS!!

Wilkie - Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down. I'm secretly looking forward to going back to work as looking after DS is so demanding and he still stays stationary!

Wilks dont feel guilty I enjoy work too its a bit of peace and quiet, I have the up most respect for stay at home mums I dont think I could do it. At the minute im finding Lauren ok to deal with but I think that is because Aidan is such a handfull at times I tell you wait for the toddler backchat. I think its very difficult when the lo's get on the move when they dont crawl we wish they would and when they do you could pull your hair out. I have found the 2/3 age difficult and do sometimes wish he was older my mum says dont wish it away. We are expected to be happy mummys all the time but in reality its hard work you are doing a fab job at being j's mummy and weather you are at work or at home trying to keep him entertained he loves you no matter what.

LadyTophamHatt · 20/09/2007 22:10

oh yes, Dh often says he looks forward to going to work to get some peace and quiet.

it makes me want to stab him but I don'tthink it unusal to feel like it.

laughalot · 20/09/2007 22:18

Lth you are super mum you are
