I love all your tales of woe, but I think the 3rd thing actually has to happen to the same person as the other two! Thanks Friz

Jas; thought so. I do indeed say things like that to dh all the time They lose effect, until it all blows up into one huge threat which he then takes seriously.

Help!!!!!! I cannot take any more of this bedtime crap. Its as bad as it was with ds1 over the summer. Last night ds2 screamed every time we went in the cot, from 7 till 8.15; gave up and all threee od us went in my bed, he fell asleep and I put him in the cot. Then I had to do workbook and story and settle with ds1. Then ds2 woke at 10, screamed till 11.30, when he just fell asleep from exhaustion. Woke early hours,a nad dh just put him in bed with us without even trying to settle him. ds1 came in 5am, they were upish, dh came on the other side of the bed for a cuddle; ds1 went beserk

Frizbe · 26/09/2007 10:11

hmmm, now you see I'm evil mummy with the cot screaming, I just leave dd2 too it, go and check her every 15 mins, if she's still yelling and lie her back down, she stands up again etc etc, but she eventually drops off to be honest she's been better this week, a) she's knackered from nursery b) happier since I got her a pillow and cot duvet from ikea. so this probably won't be of any use to you, but its my story!

Jas · 26/09/2007 11:34

Also no idea with the cot screaming - ds just goesto sleep, so if I do get crying for more than 5 mins, I tend to get him up, give him milk and put him back to bed. DS won't have any covers on him at all,so I'm really hoping the heating gets sorted soon. (Upstairs does work, but we aren't using it. I'm sure it mst be causig more damage by running it in its current state.)

Funded nursery won't start til April 2009 so I don't think we need to apply just yet I never applied, the nursery ask you to sign the forms once you are eligable, and the dds didn't g until they were over 3 anyway.

mrm- I think I've said it all lots of times before but have recently been taking the approach of not complaining all the time, as it has no effect and makes me feel worse.to Letting him know that just because I'm not complaining every day doesn't mean I'm happy was probably good. I'm still not convinced he will actually do anything, but at least when I leave him he can't say he didn't get fair warning.

I had ds weighed this morning (91st centile). It was hugely embarrassing as he had a dirty nappy, I had none with me, and no wipes and had to scounge one, then he ran riot in the clinic, wouldn't stay on the scales long enough to be weighed, and eventually managed it on the adult bathroom scales.

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/09/2007 12:18

for 'when I leave him' rather than 'if I leave him'. Do you really think it's a certainty?

Sorry, but lol at clinic story. So what's his actual weight then? More to the point, why did you go to clinic - it's not like you to bother unless you want to discuss a crisis?

mrm - could ds2's canines be coming through, as I reckon that that's the source of our month of angst here? Most friends say they've given grief for a few weeks before appearing.

Jas - if I choose the Montessori nursery that I'm on about then will prob send dd from 2.5, and am guessing it has waiting list, so no time to waste here! Have open mornings for our 3 school contenders over the next few weeks!

Jas · 26/09/2007 12:31

Oh it is never too early to put names o list for nursery place. Just too early to think about free places.

He is 30lb 8 oz and 19 months today.

When is assuming nothing changes in next few months.

I am currently as I've just had a letter from the bank informing me of a £35 charge to refuse to pay a dd as we didn't have enough money in our account.

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/09/2007 13:06

Blimey that's a bit steep. Is that covered in all the 'unfair bank charges' malarky?

Jas · 26/09/2007 13:12

I've already had a refund of unfair charges, though.
Apparently some banks are letting it go to court now so all payouts have stopped, too. After a 20 min phone call I've had it refunded, and I'm going to close all the childrens accounts there, which do have money in them, then try and close the main one. It is tied to a loan ,so I can't close it now.

mustrunmore · 26/09/2007 13:46

Which bank is that, out of interest? Obviously, I hate them all anyway!

Ideas needed for lodger's birthday pressie please, and what to do (will need to be home-based if dh joining in, if not, he'll be babysitting while I take lodgr out!). Pressies; woulsd lke to get something useful but not boring. I usually get him wine and groceries!! Got him the Dad's Army feature length dvd from Tescos for £3, but need something else too. Ideally, I need to find somewher selling clinique for men at a 90% discount, as that's what he likes

mustrunmore · 26/09/2007 13:47

Think ds2 was 28lb last time I had him weighed. So now its you with the big baby , Jas

Frizbe · 26/09/2007 18:26

Good point CSWS teeth could well be it
at you with schools too!

Jas hope it doesn't come to that, for all of your sakes.

Flamesparrow · 26/09/2007 19:35

Jas

I have man flu.

Tomorrow it will have to become girl cold so I can do everything I need to, but for tonight it is being man flu and I am feeling sorry for myself.

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/09/2007 21:15

flame - did you see this that Tech posted the other day?

mustrunmore · 26/09/2007 21:41

Actually, thats quite good

Was thinking about you earlier csws; as I was sitting in my room listening to ds2 wail, looking at my beautiful drawers I just love them so much!

NotAnOtter · 26/09/2007 21:43

gosh just read this thread title and thought sounds so much like my little prince - then looked clloser!!!

Frizbe · 26/09/2007 21:50

Hi NAO! good to see you on here your welcome to stay if you like!

Flame for man flu, woman flu or indeed any flu!

MRM at drawers he dropped yet?

So trying to decide if I should take the kids to the event this weekend, ss will defo be coming, but is it going to be too cold for the girls?.....mum has said she will have them, but it adds a good two hours to the trip each way, 1 hr to mums, 1 hr back.....hmmmmmmm what to do?

mustrunmore · 26/09/2007 22:20

Too cold? Just put more clothes on them

Yep, all quiet here now, thank God. Listened to the wailing (goodness knows how ds1 fell lasleep during it, in the same room!), went up every now and again, final time he shut up when I picked him up and actually fell asleep properly, all flpooy, so dumped him back in cot, only one little grump, and snoring.

Someone bought my rocking horse on buy it now at about 9.10pm; came and picked it up 10 mins ago I like a fast turnaround! Have been in the boys room rearranging their toys There are now NO TOYS IN MY ROOM!!!!!

Frizbe · 26/09/2007 22:26

for fast ebayer, like it lots! no one would do pick up round here though, we're too far away from major population centres for that!

Yay for ds2 going to sleep too!

I think your right about more layers, and if I take dd2's new cot duvet as well, she should be ok, just know its going to get down to about 3oc overnight, brrrrrrrrr, just worrying as dd2's hands were so cold today after just a quick nip over the road to swim pool!

mustrunmore · 26/09/2007 22:31

Take some of those self heating hand warmers too

Funny thing about horse is that a cab camr for it. I assumed some loony was paying cab fare, but buyer's address was in Essex Turns out a girl had bought it for her step sister, and the cabbie was the little girl's Dad, having coincidentally dropped someone off 2 miles from here when she called him to ask him to pick it up for her

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/09/2007 22:31

What, a proper rocking horse? Didn't think to offer it here first?

mustrunmore · 26/09/2007 22:32

By the way... xmas... only person not sorte is dh. Now, our bubdget for this year has increased, as it was tricky last year. So we're giving ourselves a huge £7 to buy each other something! I have £4.01 left to spend of mine; what shall I get him?

mustrunmore · 26/09/2007 22:33

Would you have actually wanted it csws?

Frizbe · 26/09/2007 22:37

700 penny chews ok off to watch heroes on bbc3, not been enlightened by that forecast too much....

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/09/2007 22:41

Well dd's favourite phrase at the moment is 'where's horsey?', so does that give you a clue ? Post me a link then so that I can see if I'd have been really interested.

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/09/2007 22:42

And what have you bought for £3.99?

mustrunmore · 26/09/2007 22:43

Nah, you wouldn't. Its not posh enough for you! I did advertise it on mumsnet first you know, so serves you right for avoiding the buying and sellling threads Er, one on the mn birds has got a proper rocking horse available; sounds realy nice, like a fairgroiund one, but Mrcsws would need to do a bit of work to it
