SIZE 10!!?? Well done you - I've never been that thin! I still haven't managed to weigh myself but I think I'm thinner than I was pre-pg. Before, I was wearing at least a size 22, if not a 24 but now I'm a 20 . I think its all the walking around the hospital that has done it as I'd never have lost weight sitting around here on my big butt

MrsBumblebee · 20/11/2007 15:39

Ooh, fun game.

house not too bad, thanks mostly to DH, and partly to Paul's 24 hour post-jab snooze (I did dusting! Yes, dusting!!)

washbasket almost empty, though Paul has just spectacularly vomited over everything he's wearing, so not for long

Paul sleeping through no, but 8.30 until 4am ish, so can't complain

sex once in 8 weeks. I think we're both quite keen, but every time an opportunity presents itself, the priority seems to be sleep (or catching up on the latest episode of Spooks ).

weight still about half a stone over, but on the plus side I am back in my old jeans. In fact, I personally think I look thinner than I did before, but not sure how this is possible. Maybe, compared with the pregnant me, anything looks thin.

Xmas shopping not even started

Twitmonster · 20/11/2007 16:15

No dal, you may not add another to the list. I was 9 stone this time last year.
I am horrendously overweight and hate you all. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

kelmcd · 20/11/2007 16:24

aah twit, what you have to remember that we have just had our first baby!!! ask again after second and i'm sure it will be a ifferent picture

dal21 · 20/11/2007 16:26

mrsb - i agree fun game

twit - you can't have it all! you have the holy grail...a baby sleeping through! i am in awe of you. (btw-can i ask how you did that?). mine wakes on average every 3-4 hours.

question - if you had to choose - sleeping through or 9 stone, which would it be?????

dal21 · 20/11/2007 16:28

oh and plp- thanks for your post on the other bfeeding thread. your support is really appreciated.

how are you feeling today about it all?

OP posts:
Twitmonster · 20/11/2007 16:29

9 stone.

seriously I could be comfortable and my clothes wouldn't feel too tight anymore. I'd be a 10 again and not have to look twice in shop windows because I don't recognise myself.

dal21 · 20/11/2007 16:34

LOL Twit! i think i'd rather have the sleeping baby. grass is always greener!

OP posts:
Twitmonster · 20/11/2007 16:36

ah, but you say that because you are already a size 10 lol. If you had to choose between waking and being a whale then what would you like?

[methinks this is why dal has done IT my dh [lol] is put off]

dal21 · 20/11/2007 17:23

twit - methinks you are being very harsh on yourself and i highly doubt that you are whalelike (although i do understand what it feels like to be whalelike when you are a size you arent used to being). I too feel whalelike and miss the definition that running had given me. My weight always goes on the thighs and hips.
I keep thinking about sit ups/ squats/ lunges to start getting definition back once fat burns off the top....not quite getting from thinking to doing. anyone else have dreams of exercising or is that just me?

OP posts:
Twitmonster · 20/11/2007 17:41

I do loads of walking everyday with school, have got back into my yoga and am stopping munching on the crap. And am doing stomach exercises.

You are right though dal, I literally cannot look in mirrors at times and have to force myself out the door and find the only people I can even speak to are here, not in rl.

MrsFish · 20/11/2007 18:11

Xmas 90% of shopping done, need to do cards now and wrap pressies
wash basket half a load left to wash, so waiting to make it a full load, 2 loads to iron.
house not too bad, but could do with a clean nonetheless
sex Once in 7 weeks (2 nights ago, whilst half pissed), waiting till had coil fitted now, tried condoms, they were crap. DH is gagging for it, I really can't be bothered.
weight second time round is much harder to lose, plus not bf'ing and having had a c-section isn't helping. Still 1 and a half stone heavier than when I got pregnant, and I only put on 2 and a half trying to diet but my willpower is non existant atm even though I hate the way I look and am still wearing all my maternity clothes. Was intending to start on my cross trainer last week whilst ds1 is at nursery, but he has been ill for 8 days now and won't let me out of his sight.

Oh and I would rather be two stone lighter than having Ben sleep through too

kinki · 20/11/2007 18:24

Good game:

housework - could well have an elephant hiding under a cushion and not know about it. Does that give a clue? No seriously, not too bad, but could do better.
washbasket - empty, but dining room is like a chinese laundry.
christmas shopping - almost there, but have been doing it for months to spread the load. Have to do some more photos of dc to make the cards and calendars though.
baby sleeping through - no, but then nor am I so I'm not bothered really. He keeps me company.
sex - twice. Plus lots of annoying prodding in my back with a truncheon. . Does that count?
weight - about the same as pre-pregnancy. But that means nothing as I still need to diet.
Another one? brain function? - completely scatty and zero memory. Blame it on the hormones.

Hmmmm, 9 stone or sleeping through. If I could be 9 stone, I would personally collect all your wakeful babies in the evening and look after them all at night and return them in the morning. No contest for me.

Well, my darling little Ryan has just had the worse ever tantrum in the history of the universe. He started at 8am, calmed for a few hours in pre-school (but because of him Liam didn't get fed 'til 9.30 and Sean was late for school), kicked off again at about 1pm and only just stopped half hour ago. I couldn't do the pm school run as he was in such a state, had to get a friend to meet Sean and bring him home. He also tipped out all his toy drawers and boxes all over his bedroom floor. I've never seen such a mess. If it wasn't for Sean keeping me calm I would have strung the little devil boy up and ..... I don't know what, I was so mad at him. He's ok now, but I've never seen anything like it.

Off now as my 15mins respite has been interupted by Liam who's probably hungary. He's probably still mad at me for keeping him waiting this morning for so long, so I won't keep him waiting now. OMG, pphhhhwwwwoarrr! Liam's just farted and it stinks worse than dh's worse ones. How can something so gross pass through such a peachy perfect cute little bottom?

big hello to everyone.

kinki · 20/11/2007 18:29

Just remembered I had cajun garlic mushrooms last night. Guess some of it passed through into my milk, so Liam's stinky fart is my fault. . Good job I'm not farty today too!

PurpleLostPrincess · 20/11/2007 20:49

Christmas shopping - not done
Housework - I'm blessed to have DH to help me out but lately he's not been on form what with the tablets. He's very good at tidying and I'll never take that for granted but he's rubbish at proper cleaning iykwim.
Sleeping through - done
Washbasket empty - not done
Sex - have already explained that one! but I'm well aware that we're not a 'normal' couple. We've been married five years and have never gone more than a couple of weeks without it.
weight - have been about 5 stone overweight for about 4 years now and I seriously need to address it as I'd like to be thinner than I am. The problem I have is that DH loves chubbiness!
brain function - debatable as to whether it has ever functioned in the first place lol!

Hmmmm, not sure if I'd rather be 9 stone or not as I'd look ill where I'm 'big boned'. I think I'd rather be my ideal weight and be up all night though...

This'll make you chuckle - DH left all our condoms on his bedside table and didn't put them away. He then (not thinking)sent Connie upstairs to collect all the cups/mugs for the dishwasher - she came down with a handful of condoms too and commented that one of them said it was banana flavoured on the packet!!!!!! I haven't had a chance to ask him what his explanation was as I couldn't stop laughing when he told me!

Thanks dal, I've decided that worrying won't achieve anything and that I've just got to go with the flow really. At least we've been through it before twice now so I can make sure we're prepared for everything - this surgery won't be half as serious as the last one so the worst has happened iykwim. Not looking forward to the prospect of being away for a week again but at the same time I'm glad it'll be out of the way before Christmas. Then her colostomy reversal will be 6-8 weeks later (hope it doesn't fall on my birthday or I will protest!). I've been a bit emotional about it all this evening but I guess thats normal - so they tell me anyway!

PurpleLostPrincess · 20/11/2007 20:50

Why don't those flipping stars work all the time!? I'm using the same button every time so it doesn't make sense - grrrrrrr!!!!!!

PurpleLostPrincess · 20/11/2007 20:53

It worked then - so why not the other times!!?? I hate things like that - how do I complain to mn?

kelmcd · 20/11/2007 20:53

its the spaces between words, you gotta do it for each word

amyclaramum · 20/11/2007 20:53

hi all - hope you are all having a good week ! love the survey ! Feeling quite depressed about the pre preg weight question - I think I'm fatter than when I was pregnant !! At least then I had a firm bump rather than a flabby tum !

housework - also have cleaner but house still looks like a mess with toys everywhere and bits of paper littering every surface
christmasshopping-internet and quick dashes into Kingston have meant I am nearly there however tried and failed to order turkey in Waitrose - they couldn't sell me the one I wanted due to bird flu issues !!
babysleepingthrough- evening still crappy but my little angel went from 10pm to 7am last night !
sex - once but I'm definitely with Fio and Chatty on this one !Anyway my DH is on a conference holiday in Dubai this week so don't have to feel guilty !
weight - hmmmm not happy and 2 sizes biger than normal - bf does not seem to be helping !
brain - what brain ? I have bought myself brain training game but haven't got it out of packet yet !

love to you all !!

Twitmonster · 20/11/2007 20:55

you have to do it around each different word, takes blummin ages.
Thank goodness some 'normal' people have since joined in, I was feeling rather unglamorous standing next to dal.

PurpleLostPrincess · 20/11/2007 20:56

DH has just confirmed that it was a wrapper that he had put in one of the cups - he can't remember what was said just yet - I'll let you know...

PurpleLostPrincess · 20/11/2007 20:59

Aaaaahhhh!!! I get it!!! eureka!!.

so I have to put stars around each word then!? Goodness me, that took ages but I feel I have learnt something valuable now - thank you

sophus · 20/11/2007 21:02

House - immaculate but i have a cleaner and an obsessive DP.
Sex - what's that?
Baby sleeping through - yup - but he's been a good sleeper and eater from day one, so it's nothing to do with my superb mothering skills.
Washbasket - was empty but just put some stuff in, but all my nappies are washed and clean, which always makes me smug and happy.
Christmas shopping - well Linus is going to do well this year but that's about it. Went to Cambridge today and it was chaos. Online from here on.
Weight - got shedloads to go, was a size 10, now a size 16 but then i was brewing a mini-elephant.

Brain - gone completely and utterly and totally.

PurpleLostPrincess · 20/11/2007 21:02

Twit, you could never look unglamorous! This is a great game! xx

Twitmonster · 20/11/2007 21:04

lol

brain has its moments... rather like one of those old tvs where you occasionally had to bash them to get them to work
