Mrs fish - it sounds like your ds1 has had exactly the same as my ds1! He had the gunky eyes on friday but apart from a cough is not back to normal!
I haven't really started my christmas shopping yet!

PurpleLostPrincess · 19/11/2007 22:15

Hello all!

Sorry I can't do a proper catch up but I'm exhausted after having stayed up late last night (till 4am!) doing washing. DH has started some new ad's and has been out of action all week which has been exhausting and I realised the school uniforms were'nt washed! Then we were off to Southampton today for Cerys's cardiology follow up appointment. The good news is that the VSD's (holes in her heart) have closed up now and she is officially 'heart healthy'! Also, she is a whopping 9lbs now and she is starting to fill her babygrows. She's inbetween sizes because the 0-3 months clothes are all too big bless her and she'll be 3 months old next week lol!

The big news is that her next op is scheduled for 11th December which is only 3 weeks away . I'm not sure how I feel about this just yet. If I'm honest, I'm devasted that its so soon, but it could be that I'm reacting because I'm so tired today so I'm going to sleep on it and see how I feel tomorrow.

Sorry to hear some of our lo's have been suffering - it takes its toll on us too. Cerys was being really grumpy the last couple of days but seems to have cheered up today. Hope they get better soon xx

Can't even begin to think about Christmas just yet - I always leave it to the last minute and I've decided not to put too much expectations on this year with everything thats been happening.

Oh, also, I've been invited to a mother and baby club thingy on Thursday morning - never thought I'd look forward to something like that but I really am! It'll be nice to chat with some of my friends in rl for a change (not that anything could replace you guys of course!).

Well, I'm off to wake Cerys for a feed so I can get myself to bed.

PLP xxx

PurpleLostPrincess · 19/11/2007 22:16

(extra hugs to kelmcd by the way xx)

MrsBumblebee · 20/11/2007 09:18

Hi everyone.
PLP, it's great news that Cerys is heart healthy again . As for the other op, I guess the sooner it is, the sooner she'll be fully well? I can totaaly understand why you were hoping for a longer wait, though.

Kelm, so sorry you're feeling low. I hope you find a way to give yourself a bit if tlc. Big hugs.

MrsF, I'm at your Xmas organisation. I've made a decision this year - if it can't be bought online, it's not being bought at all .

Dal, sounds like 3.30 is a real breakthrough, however you achieved it. Sounds like Ryan is a real little monkey already .

Well, Paul had his first jabs yesterday. He was a very brave boy and, what's even better, he's been asleep almost permanently for the last 24 hours, except for feeds. Wy can't they have jabs every day ?

Luckily, he's generally pretty good at night. Feeds about 8.30, goes down in moses basket around 9.30, wakes around 4, then up for the day between 7 and 8. However, daytime sleeps are a major battle. He tends to fight sleep until around 2pm, getting grumpier and grumpier, then zonks out on my lap for two or three hours. I've tried putting him down in bed for naps, when he's either asleep or very nearly asleep, but he either won't drop off or wakes up 10 mins later. What's everyone else doing in terms of daytime routines and daytime naps? And do your LOs fall asleep themselves, or only through feeding/cuddling/dummy, like Paul?

MrsFish · 20/11/2007 11:17

PLP - Big hugs being sent to you, you deserve them xx

Mrs Bumblebee - If Ben slept like that at night I wouldn't care what he did during the day Ben tends to catnap, only generally sleeping for 20-30 mins a time during the day and I tend to leave him to go off himself in his rocker chair.

Well I've kept Sam off nursery again this morning as he was awake a couple of hours during the night and didn't wake up till 9.30, so would have been a waste of time taking him in. From 1am till 3.30 I spent my time backwards and forwards between the two of them got back in bed about 3.45am then Ben woke up again at 5am and then 6.15am, so I'm shattered today. Oh well I suppose I can't expect every night to be as good as the other night

Oh and I have added some more up to date pictures of Ben in my profile

dal21 · 20/11/2007 11:37

morning all!

PLP - hugs to you! i can only imagine how you feel about the impending op - but looking at how well little Cerys is doing (as are you) I am sure everything will be fine. Hope you feel more positive about it this morning.

MrsB - I have no idea what DS is doing at nights and have given up stressing out about it. Last night he fed at 1.30 - so he is all over the place. I take the view that he is only 10 weeks old (7 based on some docs views as he arrived at 37 weeks)- am going with the flow and waiting til mid dec to perhaps retry. Mum and DH will be on hand to perhaps try and break the 1am waking then. Plus he will be past the 12 week mark.

In the day - he is on 3 hourly feeding routine, 8.30 through to 5.30, then cluster feed at 19.00 then dreamfeed at 22.00. I dont let him nap longer than 2 hours in the day and if needs be will wake him for feeds - which is quite rare as he spookily feeds every three hours almost to the minute! He has started to settle himself when put down - mainly with a dummy that eventually gets spat out, but equally sometimes needs settling on shoulder before being put down. Mornings are quite easy as he is a happy baby. I try not to let him nap too long after 4 and evenings he tends to be a little more grizzly and I often end up letting him nap in my arms before his bath so he doesnt cry through that.

but DS isn't doing what yours is at night time! he still wakes every 3 hours for his feed - despite my best efforts to break him - naughty boy

MrsF - sorry you had a tired night. I am sure that the more settled nights will become the norm the older our DC's get. Dont try to persuade me otherwise as that thought is getting me through

Fio, I wish I could reassure you but we've been at it like rabbits making up for lost time I'm afraid (when Cerys is asleep of course!). At the end of the day, everybody has different sex drives that can go up and down, so just go with what feels right for you - don't be under any pressure either way and just go with the flow.

I think Cerys has got a little cough - what do I do with her!? Strange, I've had to cope with such big things so far but I can't figure out what to do with such a seemingly small problem in comparison!

Twit, I admire you - I haven't done a single thing towards Christmas and I'm unlikely to until about a week before hand lol!

Chattyhan · 20/11/2007 12:47

plp - alex has a cough too! And does seem quite chesty and a little wheezy - a steamy bathroom seems to help him and propping him up to sleep either blocks/books under one end of the cot and alex likes to nap in the rocker/bouncer.

Christmas! Haven't started yet!

Sex - twice very reluctantly! I have no sex drive at the moment either!

kelmcd · 20/11/2007 12:53

Hello!
I am feeling much more like myself today it really is amazing how a little sleep can clear your head! Arben slept from 11-4 last night as did i, he was back asleep by 4.30 and woke again at 8am!
he sleeps best in the morning and is at his happiest at lunch time he usually falls asleep during his feed but wakes when i put him in his cot but he sends himself off to sleep. I have made a point of not letting him sleep with me holding him, only occasionally i let him generally when we are out. on a positive note it means he sleeps well in his cot but on a big negative he isnt a particuarly cuddly baby but i am hoping that will get more as he grows up!
we are having another at home day today, i dont want our colds getting any worse plus i am waiting for a mammoth poo he hasn't done one for 3 days so i know it will be messy

you are very normal.

[sort of ]

I think perhaps the time has come for dh [lol] to climb aboard and give it a go, although things don't feel quite back to normal yet. Time will heal all, and me losing weight now will help I guess.

kelmcd · 20/11/2007 13:00

yeah a 3 day whooper is building up and going to suprise me soon i am sure it will require a good ole hose down with the shower i reckon and a change of his clothes as well as my own

Twitmonster · 20/11/2007 13:01

not to mention his bedding

PurpleLostPrincess · 20/11/2007 13:44

It's ok, you can say it - I'm the weirdo! LOL!!

dal21 · 20/11/2007 14:03

lol at these posts.

house - immaculate (but do have weekly cleaner so maybe cheating , but do also clean every day)
washbasket - final load in tumble dryer as i type
christmas shopping - 80% there, but all cards written
baby sleeping through at night- hell no, i wish!
sex - not at plp levels, but very nice

dare we add final one how far from pre preggers weight?

OP posts:
kelmcd · 20/11/2007 14:07

Sorry but i am going to be very smug indeed here - i weigh 7kg less than my pre pregnancy weight. I have always been a bit on the heavier side but since having Arben i have lost all baby weight plus more

dal21 · 20/11/2007 14:31

kelm - well done you! i don't blame you for being smug.

i am back in all my size 10's (and karen millen clothes, so proper size 10's (hoorah!)), but i am still a porky size 10 ...9lbs to go til back to pre preggers weight...think it may take a while to shift the final bit...

DH says he prefers the new shape - think he just means the humungous norks! lol!
