Morning all, just in from taking DTs to nursery and Millie is snoozing in her pram so this is me catching up on the housework .

Purple - brilliant news to hear that Cerys is off the ventilator - hope she continues to improve so quickly x x x

Dal - well done to you and Ryan for 71/2 hours - that is a normal proper sleep isn't it! Hope you get reassurance at the Gp re: the bleeding - mine stopped at 3 weeks then I had a period at 6 weeks, very miffed as I am BF like last time and they took months to come back then. All different I guess.

Re: vaccinations - will get everything going like we did for DTs. We also had their BCGs offered and done at 4 months as me and DH come into contact with TB patients at work now and then and it was on the rise in the London borough we lived in, this is not offered in Bromley now we have moved unless we pay £100 (mulling it over - she should not be at risk from our work exposure if we have both been vaccinated). Apparently they no longer do the BCG for teenagers in schools either now.

Canadianmum - nice to see you again - Anna sounds like Millie - very topsy turvy days then goes 10.30-5am at night - I feel very lucky.

MMooMar - love the name Lukas! Re Christmas - think it sounds great to have just the four of you on Christmas Day - we did that for the first time ever last year and it was lovely and really relaxed - slobbed around in PJs having bucks fizz and opening presents, then a walk in the park before a mega lunch and naps for all - we are planning on doing the same this year (if DH is not working) and seeing family on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day etc.

Mrs Bumblebee - love the new pic of Paul, what a poppet. Have a great week with DH on pat. leave.

Chatty - lol re Bf in tescos - did the same in a restaurant the other day, thought I was being all discreet then glanced up and saw an old lady watching me man handle a giant boob at my little baby!

Welcome Sabi!

Fettle - sorry to hear about Toby's reflux and that you have had a tough few days - please always come on and post when you are low though. Hope the gaviscon is settling things ((Hugs))

Hopey - great to see you, hope Niamh's reflux is settling too.

Kinki - happy anniversary to you and Mr Kinki - and well done Liam for the best presents - sleeping and smiling - what a perfect baby! Don't want to sound smug but potty training going really well here. The DTs have been dry for a good couple of weeks now and we hardly had any accidents, maybe because we left it so late to finally try and train them with moving, babies etc! One of them still not keen on pooing in the potty/toilet and asks for pull-ups but can usually persuade her with promises of loads of stickers for her little chart. We have done several outings and they seem to be quite good at holding it til toilets available! That is so cool that you are a twin by the way, and quite reassuring to hear that sharing a birthday is special rather than annoying - twins are the best

Hi to anyone I've missed - kyala, amyclaramum, toadstool, Nicki10

Have a good one.

Hi All,
Crikey I`ve managed two posts in two days
Dal well done with the sleeping thing,Lukas is yet to do anything of the sort, but he is pretty good anyway ,tends to settle straight after a feed apart from last night .I have to admit that he slept all night wrapped up and in his Bjorn baby sitter thing as he was so snotty with his cold everytime he was laid flat he couldnt breath through it all so ended up fussing so took him to bed in that and he slept fine.
Going to get one of those little syringe things that suck it all out from mothercare later ,anyone know if they are any good?

bear with me while I post this in case it crashes.

MMooMar · 08/11/2007 15:08

OK...
We have decided that the computer just has to go,so the sky contract is up in January so will probabley go back to Orange and stay with them at least we could get online ALL THE TIME with them and in the Jan sales we are going to look for a nice laptop and dump this old bucket of nails.Dont really want it in the new extension anyway when thats finished.Would have liked a laptop sooner but had an agent from magic custard come last week to take moulds of Lukas` hand and foot for his bronze castings so that took a big wedge of cash but we had it done with DS1 and so needed to get them for Lukas too.
But cant wait to see the back of this bloody computer.....roll on January!

Going off down Merry hill center later if DP gets back at a decent time ,going to get some xmas prezzies in.Had a voucher for 20% off in ELC and have seen some stuff in the catalogue that I want to get so sooner the better I suppose.Saw something called a chatty frog advertised in a mag ( looks real good for the younger kids)and you can get it from verbaudet,I picked up a 40%off and free delivery code(5140) off someone on MUMSNET and ordered it online and got it for less than £15.00 instead of nearly 25 plus post....bargain! Just the sort of thing I need this year .
Anyway enough waffle.....
speak to you later guys,
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Twitmonster · 08/11/2007 19:59

I'm back and after the trial that was a wedding am hoping to stay on for more than 5 minutes, although I'm sure babytwit will put an end to that. I haven't caught up with you all yet, hopefully I will soon.
All is well here, babytwit sleeping through etc so yay!

I hope all is well with you all, its only been a week but I've missed being here! Speak to you all soon I hope.

diddle · 08/11/2007 21:32

sleeping through!!!!! i'm very jealous

diddle · 08/11/2007 21:35

MMORMAR - where abouts do you live, are you close to Merryhill?? I'm in Wollaston. i've had a ELC voucher to spend too, once i'm past my six weeks of no driving i'll be off spending mine.

Nicki10 · 09/11/2007 09:49

Morning All

PLP I'm so pleased that Cerys is off the ventilator she must be a very strong girl.

I took Poppy to baby yoga yesterday and it was brilliant she absolutely loved it and it did me the world of good, i'm all achy today. It was really good fun and so cute I can't wait to go next week now!.

Last night we decided not to wake Poppy for her 11:00 feed as she is always deeply asleep then and it only meant that she went until 03:00. So she went down at 7:30 and then woke for a feed at 02:30, I was so pleased that's a solid 7 hours I didn't even mind that I still had one night feed I was just so proud of her . She then woke again at 07:00 so effectively she's just missing one feed because those are the times she would do anyway.

I can't wait for the weekend either I love it when we have DP about, why are the weekends so short!. Anyway must dash should be doing the washing.

xxx

Chattyhan · 09/11/2007 09:57

Right - i need to rant - dp has been ever so helpful and 'accidently' taken my keys to work! After a frantic 10 mins of searching for them trying to get out the door to playgp - i phoned him for suggestions and got 'sorry darling'! so i realise i'll have to walk (it's less than 10 mins so not a big deal) but we're going to be late! So i wrap up Alex and go to get his pushchair but alas it's locked in the car! So sling it is and as i start to pull the front door shut i realise i won't be able to get back in so i'm out to the back gate moving all the plant pots that are infront of the gate and wrestle with the apple tree that's definately grown since we last used the gate! So we arrive at playgp only 10 mins late and ds1 (looking decidedly red in the face and out of breath) says 'silly daddy took mummy's keys to work' which i was relieved at considering the choice words i'd been muttering up the hill! So ds1 settled i phoned mil who is coming to visit to say she wouldn't be able to take us out for lunch and watch the kids while i do some much needed clothes shopping because not only do i have no car, i have no car seats! So my days ruined and i've now got to think of what i can do us all for lunch!

Thanks for listening! And i hope everyone else has a good day!

MMooMar · 09/11/2007 10:15

Morning all ,
Fine start to the day Chatty hope it gets better.
Diddle yes,not far about 10 mins in the car (3 hours if I go by bus lol)I live in Coseley, didnt know you were in Stourbridge.
Hold on gonna post this ,system has crashed twice trying to type this....

MMooMar · 09/11/2007 10:18

Went to Merryhill last .ELC only had one of the items that I wanted so I will probabley have to reserve them so saved my voucher for then.I did buy Lukas a Chirpy Chick from there, one of their activity toys.He loved it in the shop ,smiling and kicking his legs at it so had to be had

Twitmonster · 09/11/2007 10:34

right i'm back lol and I'm now going to bore you with anecdotes about the twitwedding.

I ended up getting to the registry office with 3 minutes to spare, having got in the shower 20 minutes before.
I was deodorantless, makeupless and had dragged my clothes on before teetering [on patent purple stilletoes] out to load up the littlest twits into my mums car. Almost broke my ankle on several occasions and was bright red in the face, so arrived looking most attractive, not to mention majorly pissed off.
Before they left fil made a remark, of the unflattering variety, under his breath, which both me and ds1 heard [sort of] and he [ds1] looked at me upset that grandad had said something mean to me.
After that neither of the ils spoke to me and when we got home sat outside, seperate from everyone else and didn't speak to anyone apart from the bils, sil and dp [and the children]. They had 'forgotten' their camera, card and [although we stressed not necessary] gift.
They also insisted on being served their food and drinks instead of doing what everyone else did and helping themselves.
My mum and s/dad did the food prep for us and helped serve it and helped with the children, and helped tidy up after as well, while they just sat in the garden putting their insecurities onto all of us and being really negative. RZLS RZLS RZLS.

Any way enough of that, at least I showered, cleaned my teeth and still had my hair done from the day before. It was actually a really nice day, and everyone else really enjoyed themselves.

babytwit slept from 8:30 til 5:30
All of mine have had all the jabs as and when.
Thinking of plp, toadstool, hopey, sophus and any one else who is finding things abit trying at the moment.
Yes, my oldest two are acting out as well, I'm just trying to remain firm but loving not always easy but I do my best. Oddly dd is an angel and is still a loving big sister.

MMooMar · 09/11/2007 10:57

Hi Twit,
Congrats. As long as you had a nice day in the end, thats all that matters.Fair play to your parents and the kids including babytwit (for sleeping)for helping to make the day.

Diddle did you have LO at Russells hall ?

Got carpet to shampoo now ,DS1 has just missed the potty and pee`d on the carpet somehow, still spilt juice on it last night so can clean that up properly too now.

See you later.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Twitmonster · 09/11/2007 11:16

am i wrong to wish dd would stop telling me she wants to wee on the toilet [she doesn't do it yet mind]?
it's just so much hassle if she doesn't just get it quickly.
oh dear, am a bad parent stunting my dd's development. [she's 22ish months old btw]

Twitmonster · 09/11/2007 11:19

oh, forgot about the kids lol.

the boys were the best men, and put our rings on the cushion at the opportune moment, and signed the register.DD was a sort of flower girl, without the flowers. They all behaved really well and helped make the day.

diddle · 09/11/2007 11:22

MMOOMAR - yes had DS at Russells Hall, did you? and what date was your little one born? sorry brain cells broken so can't remember.
Wow coseley isn't far, small world hey, fancy someone else being local.
I'm missing Merryhill, when i was pregnant i went up there with DS1 (16 months)every week and had a nice starbucks latte. I'll be glad when i can drive again.

Twitmonster - Haven't really read much of the messages on here due to major lack of time, i gather theres a lot i don't know about your situation with your inlaws, but they sound pretty awful. glad you managed to have a niceish day though.

I think we should all put how old our babies are on our messages, because i'm reading your lovely positive comments about getting 7 hours sleep in a row and feel very jealous and wonder how soon Ollie will be doing that.

Ollie is 5 weeks today

Twitmonster · 09/11/2007 11:27

8 weeks, although he has been sleeping well for ages

kelmcd · 09/11/2007 12:11

Hi everyone! Hope you have all had peaceful weeks!!
Twit - Sounds like you had a lovely day despite the PIL my wedding day was fantastic and i will remember it always. Luckily for me my PIL are very nice tho they dont speak english so i couldn't get upset by any comments they may have made
We are still having problems with Arben in the evenings, he isn't crying like he used but he just dosen't seem to want to go to sleep before 1.30 no matter how long he has been up, how much he has feed or how exhaysted he is. He will sometimes fall asleep so we put him in bed but the most he sleeps is 45mins and then he is up again wanting more food and refuses to go back to sleep til his time. Tried the bath routine etc but doesn't make any difference. Not sure if he is having a growth spurt or whats going on as he is back to 31/2hrly feeds during the night.
Other than that he is a darling.
We are having all the injections, we survived the first lot with no problems! the 8week check also went well, he now weighs 13lbs 7ozs (6.1kg) which is on the 91st centile It is such a relief when you know they are putting on weight isn't it, all the hard work is paying off
PLP-little Cerys is such a wee fighter, such good news that she is doing well after her op xx

kelmcd · 09/11/2007 12:12

Arben is 9wks and has never slept more than 5hrs

Twitmonster · 09/11/2007 12:19

the bath routine is only useful at this point for signalling bedtime when they are a bit older. If they grow up associating bathtime with bedtime, it starts to fall into place, so I'd stick with it. It doesn't have to be a proper bath either, a quick dip in the sink is all I do sometimes
do you keep night feeds etc quiet and dark? I only whisper and don't play with them, just reassuring smiles and kisses. I also try to wake him every couple of hours during the day, a] to change his nappy and b] to show him the differnece between day and night.
Admittedly he does this himself alot of the time as he only takes around 3 oz at each feed. lol.

kelmcd · 09/11/2007 12:44

The bath thing was is good cos it wears him out but he still only sleeps for a short time. I try to keep him in the bedroom where it is darker and quieter, during the night ie his 4am feed he is only up for 1/2hr and goes back to sleep with no problems. I know i cant really complain cos it is only the once during the night he is up but it is the fact he is awake from 8pm until 1am, it is exhausting for us all
I think maybe i am expecting to much from him, during the day he usually only sleeps for 2-3 hrs and is awake for the same 2-3hrs, i try and keep him awake for as long as possible
Thanks for the advice twit, it is gratefully recieved!

Twitmonster · 09/11/2007 12:49

Do you go out in the morning, perhaps start doing that? Of course babytwit has to go out twice, which helps I think. hmmm. let me ponder it and i'll be back after nappy changes.

Twitmonster · 09/11/2007 12:50

oh, and when do you bathe him?

kelmcd · 09/11/2007 12:55

He usually wakes up around 8pm so we try and do it then. I usually feed him after feed cos is sick otherwise but i think that he gets to tired and doesn't feed as much, I do try to go out during the day but he falls asleep straight away.
Think he is just going to be the kind of bubba that is awake til late, my mum says that my best time when i was a bub was at midnight aswell

Twitmonster · 09/11/2007 12:59

yes mine fall asleep in the pram, its more for the noise and activity.
I have been feeding babytwit at 8ish and waiting until 10ish [earlier if poss ] before bath and bed.
Or as you say perhaps he's just a night owl lol.

kelmcd · 09/11/2007 13:04

Is babytwit awake between the 8pm feed and the bath?
