Nappy, you surely are the queen of the re-usables.

Well, I've ordered a starter pack...

nappynuttynormabutty · 15/09/2007 20:56

I haven't got round to it yet....

I have cut some fleece liners tho

I'm interested to know what you think of the bumhuggers tho Octo cos I'm v tempted to get one but have heard some mixed reviews.

MMK, pmsl at using a sheet and some rope - hilarious!!!

Quick question totally unrelated to anything. I am going to make a crumble tomorrow and it says use unsalted butter. Do you think I can get away with using salted butter?

weeonion · 15/09/2007 20:57

i made a few fleece wraps - with big flowers stitched on the bum. so much work though - might go back to it when i have more time. i am still churning out mini taggie blankets as newborn gifts and now moving onto button books!

weeonion · 15/09/2007 20:58

sol - chuck in more sugar!!

nappynuttynormabutty · 15/09/2007 20:59

SOL - yes.

WO - I'm v impressed. Am going to have a go at making some wipes first to get the hang of sewing the material then gonna move onto nappies and figuring out the elastic!

mmk · 15/09/2007 21:00

I presume unsalted butter would only be needed in a savoury crumble that has salt in something already. It may be too, that the reciepe requires you to put salt into the crumble mix separatelly too.

Unless you have got one of those low sodium or salt free cook books

weeonion · 15/09/2007 21:01

nappynutty - i use cloth wipes but took the lazy option of just chopping up towels / faceclothes and zigzagging round the edges. even lazier - i just cut up fleeces i bought for £1 each and use as liners and wipes - no hems needed!

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 21:01

I have one somewhere that makesachange sent me to test ... will go look for it an dpost to you.

nappynuttynormabutty · 15/09/2007 21:02

Oh and my mei tai is fab, thanks Octo. Erin loves it so definitely better than the pouch sling I had. Also better for my back. Dh loves it too. If the weather is good he takes Erin out in it for a walk on a Sunday while I get some studying done.

mmk · 15/09/2007 21:02

I bet thare are a few disposable users out there, hoping nobody has noticed them, slinking off on the quiet....

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 21:02

I bought washable wipes from lollipop - have 40 of them

mmk · 15/09/2007 21:04

{{dashes off to lollipop site to check out wipes))

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 21:04

I do have my huggababy still but need to figure out postioning - atm he looks a bit awkward tbh!

Sexonlegs · 15/09/2007 21:04

I am here and a disposable user I'm afraid!

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 21:05

mmk - it might be worth getting an advisor out to see you - then you can se all the nappies and they may have a trial kit - just register your details on their website and someone will contact you.

nappynuttynormabutty · 15/09/2007 21:05

I bought some washable wipes from clwt twt and some from bumfluff. Got lots of material so going to try making my own even tho i ahve too many already.

Is that to me Octo? I've got a bit confused with all the x-posting! If so thank you soooo much! If not can someone explain what I've missed!!!

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 21:05

BE VERY AFRAID

oooggs · 15/09/2007 21:06

me to sol

mmk · 15/09/2007 21:06

lollipop site is closed. Oh well, I'll keep using organic cotton wool pads instead. They work great with water, and are much better at cleaning up botties that wipes
