And can I recommend www.bumfluffnappies.com which is owned by a MNer. She does some tie dyed nappies which are soooo lovely, they really are the cutest nappies ever and rather unique.

nappynuttynormabutty · 15/09/2007 20:28

Liath - I'll send my dh round to have words with him . Dh manages really well and loves using them. He won't go near a disposable!!! We also use cloth wipes too and he manages fine.

liath · 15/09/2007 20:32

Your DH sounds fab, nutty (from the nappy point of view at least ). Mine has vetoed cloth wipes and we go through loads of the disposible ones. I think I should just buy some cheap flannels and go for it.

mmk · 15/09/2007 20:33

how afwul of me, I meant to give my grateful thanks to all those who sent donations.

I'm in the process of matching up names on cheques and paypal with pen names here,so will be in touch with each personally (if I haven't already)

So far, we are on the way to covering the cost of the arrangement, with none left over, however, that may change as there are still some cheques to arrive.

CLOTH NAPPY LURKER

This is my third in cloth - I love cloth nappies - go through mad phases of either sticking to one typ eor buying loads of different ones - like nutty atm! At the moment we are sticking to fuzzi bunz (although do have enough nappies in other makes to use both )

I would rate the following ...

Best stuffable - fuzzi bunz
Best birth to potty - onelife
Best bamboo - whambamboo
Best aborbency - totsbots
Cutest - sandys
Quickest drying - fuzzi bunz/lollipop microfibre
Bricklike qualities - ellas house bumhugger
Most likely to leak - kushies or prefolds with a bambino mio soft wrap
Best wraps - motherease rikki/air rika or onelife popper
Coolest patterns - weenotions/nature babies stuffables/fuzzi bunz
Best all in one - motherease
Cheapest - terries and nippas

I would say I have atleast 50 nappies and 20 wraps and am getting the urge to buy more - but not until he is getting builders bum in the fuzzis - even then I have enough large nappies already

weeonion · 15/09/2007 20:36

i think dh/ dp's tend to be quite proud of using them and being able to handle them! have found it almost turn into nappy envy - in a "so, what kinda nappy you using these days?? i'm finding the kooshie with a prefold as a booster works pretty well in tough nightie conditions" way...
mmk - you'll have in a meitai before long!!!!!

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 20:39

wo - interesting that your kushies are working well - do you have the ultras?

weeonion · 15/09/2007 20:40

oh liath - was there a thread about someone liking your pants???????????????????????????

weeonion · 15/09/2007 20:43

not sure what they are octo - i was given them by a mnetter. pretty well loved and softened. they seem to do well at night - but as i say only with a thick booster.

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 20:44

I have the following different makes

motherease birth to potty
onelife birth to potty
terries
cuddlebuns birth to potty
sandys
fuzzi bunz
nature babies stuffables
lollipop organics
lollipop softees
lollipop microfibres
lollipop bamboos
whambamboo
weenotions
river niles
weenees
ellas house bumhuggers
kushies classics
some wahm ones given to me
prefolds
easypeasy nappies

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 20:45

do they have the waterproof attached (ultra) or do you put a wrap on (classic)?

mmk · 15/09/2007 20:46

thank you octo I will print this list and others out. I feel quite knowledgable now! Going to look up Maitei, have already emailed the site recommended.

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 20:46

nutty - I take it you've got to grips with your mei tai now! I haven;t used a sling for ages and about to start using the back carrier again - have a macpac vamoose.

oooggs · 15/09/2007 20:47

all well here mmk - sorry I missed last night - went off to bed!!!!!!!

dts are huge (especially Jack) getting them weighed on Tuesday - we will see.......

dh is studying so this is a quick post so he can back on pc

liath · 15/09/2007 20:47

Wow, Octo- that's a hell of a list!

WO - I have been outed as a sloggi pant wearer .

Sexonlegs · 15/09/2007 20:48

Blimey, cloth nappiesrus! Well, many of you!

Elkie, sounds like you had a lovely day today.

MMK, we took K swimming for the first time today (she will be 5 months on the 20th) I think you can take them quite early on now. K really enjoyed it. Pmsl at the poo episode. Luckily K had "been" before we went.

Big kisses to the cloth mummies, and of course SPB!

oooggs · 15/09/2007 20:49

hi octo hun hope you and your gorgeous boys are well.

Is it ok for them to sleep on their tummies if they put themselves there? I put them to bed on their backs.

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 20:49

do you think I can say I am back??!

weeonion · 15/09/2007 20:50

lol and love the sling, carriers and nappies chat!

octo - i guess i have the classic then as i use a rikki over them.

oooggs · 15/09/2007 20:50

maveta - thinking about your dad x

we had the twins in the pool everyday whilst we were away for at least half and hour it was like bath water

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 20:50

if they roll onto their tummies then thats fine - lots of people spend ages putting them back - waste of time imho. Mine have always stayed on their backs - probably because always used grobags.

mmk · 15/09/2007 20:50

have looked up Meitei, hmmm, doubt that will be any good to me. I have a big diasti recti (big preggy paunch) and I is a tad larger than I used to be, I'll just use an old sheet ans some old rope.

oooggs · 15/09/2007 20:50

YES........ you are back octo

oooggs · 15/09/2007 20:51

they are in grobags octo!!!!!!!

octoandflash · 15/09/2007 20:51

classics much better than the ultras - the ultras have no real elastic in the back so when they do an explosive poo it shoots up their back and the horrible pvc cover rubs their legs.
