To get Alice accustomed to her cot, I played peekaboo. She'd stand in her cot, while I hid around a corner, and jumped out periodically to make her giggle. She loved that. I did it every day for 15-30 minutes.
You could also try sitting Arthur in the cot with a few toys while you sit next to him on the floor quietly playing through the bars. Or have a dance party! Maybe try some of the new born tricks (t-shirt that smells of you, warm the area he's going to sleep on with a hot water bottle before laying him down). Ofc it could just be (yet another, there's so many! T_T) sleep regression, and he'll go back to normal in his own time. Glad to hear he's all better now at least. I can't believe how long this week has been...
Thanks for thinking of me guys. 🥰 Last night, I was in the middle of writing a reply, saying that Alice was all better, she'd been to nursery, and had a great time, when she started crying on the monitor. She was spiking a temperature yet again, and was pretty inconsolable. It took: three hours, two raw nipples, a lost suppository, a found (in the foot of Alice's sleepsuit) suppository, and a tag team of parental cuddles for her to drift back off to sleep.
BUT! She did sleep for a solid 6 whole hours after that. Easily the longest stretch she's done in quite a while. She's definitely much less snotty now, and I have everything crossed that last night was the final gasp from this poxy virus. I've already requested a new suppository prescription so I'm ready for the next bout. She's in nursery again tomorrow, so hopefully she'll stay ok.
Hoping DD is bit more agreeable today @drumst1ck (great name!). Repeated application of chocolate buttons for the both of you is highly advised.
