@yevans DS was fascinated with my electric toothbrush so I gave him DDs (new and unused) electric toothbrush and he absolutely loves to hold it and put it in his mouth so I'm classing that as successful teeth brushing. Long may it last

Dyra · 12/06/2020 19:59

Still no teeth here, but Alice is also fascinated by my electric toothbrush. Sometimes I give it to her to hold and inspect before I use it.

She's oddly... Keen on teeth. She likes to touch mine and DHs. Future dentist in the making?

iano · 12/06/2020 22:24

We have had two bottom teeth for months but he's now getting two top teeth coming through. DS2 has started grinding them and making this crunching noise. it's freaking me out. Anyone else's baby doing this? I suspect he's doing it to relieve pain but it's grim

PollyRoe16 · 13/06/2020 02:43

@iano yes! Arlo did this for weeks and the sound is awful 🤢 I was worried he might cause some damage he was grinding that hard but I've been assured by lots of mums that it's completely normal and eventually they just stop doing it - I guess once having all the teeth feels normal to them.

Anyone else's baby's sleep terrible still? We were doing so well with blocks of six hours at time and now back to every two hours or less - it's killing me 😴

kyles101 · 13/06/2020 03:08

@iano yes with the grinding, it's awful. I'm trying not to react when he does it otherwise I'm worried it'll become his new "thing". It does sound like a lot of them do it, it's grim.

Can't help with the sleep thing, DS is generally pretty good - it's me up at this time with a dodgy tummy!! Saying that, he did end up in our bed last night - he wedged himself across the cot at about midnight and was inconsolable. I figured if I brought him in with us we'd all get some sleep. No, little fidget bum!!

iano · 13/06/2020 08:38

That's a good point @kyles101! I have to stop wincing when he does it. Otherwise he might start doing it for the reaction.

I can't help on the sleep front. Maybe more teeth coming?

Horehound · 13/06/2020 12:02

We are actually fine with teeth! Lol one thing I can say it's good haha
We give him the brush and he loves spiking on it and we just hold it too and brush. Then let him sook it a bit more.

@PollyRoe16 this is exactly what Arthur did with sleep. We were having 5-6 hour blocks then last week for a week we woke every two hours. Hell. But last three nights have been really good again so I think it's to do with teeth. Hang in there!

I'm posting to say Arthur hasn't pooped again in 6 days. Normally if I post this he then poops....

Geegrl19 · 13/06/2020 14:01

Hope he's pooped by now @Horehound.

So am I really slack, haven't given Nate a toothbrush yet. Should I give one to him to chew when he's in the bath maybe. He then does have milk before bed. Can't remember what the right thing is to do.

We've just had the week from hell. Nate got over one bug then picked up another cold and nasty infection from daycare. He was so snotty, that awful green/yellow snot. Then when I thought he was on the mend his temp shot up. It kept doing that for over two days. I was so worried but apparently that can carry on for a few days. I had to take time off work which wasn't ideal as there was nobody there to cover me. And to top it off my car broke down. Goodbye $700 (350 pound... Can't find the pound sign) to fix it. Glad to see the back of this week, I can tell you! What a nightmare. I can't remember having had a week so bad before. I just wanted to cry.

Anyway, next week is a new week!!

Hope everyone having a good weekend. We've had a good Saturday 😊

Thankfully he's pretty much right now. Poor baby.

Geegrl19 · 13/06/2020 14:01

Oops. My lines got a but muddled at the end there. Not sure what happened 🤪

Horehound · 13/06/2020 14:04

@geegrl19 No poop yet but we just had a few farts so I think it's just a waiting game now!

You're week did sound like utter hell. Poor you and poor Nate. Gave a good weekend though and as you say, next week is a new week :)

Dyra · 13/06/2020 16:23

@Geegrl19 After that week, you definitely deserve a bottle of wine, some chocolates, ice-cream, a take away of your choice and an entire cake. Glad to hear Nate is ok now.

@PollyRoe16 We had that sort of sleep pattern for about two weeks. Then she's been fine for the past few days, but last night she woke up every 1.5 hours, with the first wake up, just as I was drifting off to sleep. T_T Pretty sure the two weeks was the 9 month sleep regression (fx I'm right... I can't go through that again) and last night I think was teeth (pretty sure I can see the top of one!).

@kyles101 Hope your tummy is feeling better now.

Dyra · 13/06/2020 16:24

@Horehound Come on Arthur! Don't hold it in, let it all out!

Horehound · 13/06/2020 19:17

Lol he's still holding it @dyra
When we changed his nappy a min ago there was a miniscule dot of poop so I guess it's Gona happen in the night or tomorrow.
I just don't understand it but he's not grumpy really

kyles101 · 13/06/2020 22:44

DS had 2 in the bath tonight 😂

Is there a 9 month sleep regression? If so I think we're having it 😔

Geegrl19 · 14/06/2020 02:11

Prepare for a poo tsunami @horehound. At least it doesn't appear to be bothering him. Is he back on his meds?

Oh no @kyles101 two in the bath, lol, so gross when you have to fish them out and as for nine month sleep regression. Don't think we ever recovered from the four month one 😳🤪

db92 · 14/06/2020 04:37

We have a teeth grinder here. Makes me shudder every time he does it 😣

And another with very very poor sleep. Just no idea what to do, I just know that we can't carry on the way we are. He'll sleep fine 7pm-1am and then that's it, a constant cycle of 45 minutes to get him back to sleep only for him to wake up 20 minutes later. He will sleep if we bring him into our bed but then we don't sleep because he's a real fidget.

Tonight we've been up since 1am and E is still refusing to sleep anywhere other than mummy or daddy. We've given him calpol Incase it is his teeth but I really don't know? He has 6 now and I can't see or feel any others close to coming through.
I'm feeling all the mum guilt too because we thought tonight if we don't go to him straight away he'll just moan himself to sleep- he wasn't properly crying. Well he didn't and ended up in such a state crying so much he was making himself heave ☹️

Safe to say I'm no longer thinking about how lovely another baby will be .....

yevans · 14/06/2020 09:54

Slightly better on the teeth front last night, managed to get in to brush them for a few seconds and then she happily chewed the toothbrush for a little bit afterwards. I'm taking that as a win!

We had a teeth grinder as well, only lasted about two weeks though just as her top two were coming through and it's stopped now, thankfully. It went right through me 🤢

kyles101 · 14/06/2020 21:37

Another bath pop tonight - the joys!

Oh @db92 I feel your pain. DS has been amazing for the last 6/7 weeks with sleep but now basically sobs when I try to put him in his room 🤷‍♀️ I took away his cot mobile as he was grabbing it, could that really be it? Or another tooth maybe causing issues. I just don't know, he's currently in the travel cot next to my side of the bed again as he was last night, I'm not going to force his own room until he at least goes for a nap without dramas again. Poor babies.

Horehound · 15/06/2020 16:07

Well, I got a poo last night. It was really soft! Maybe it's too soft? I don't know anymore! I'm thinking if it's so soft maybe it's harder to get it out? No poop today except for a really small soft mark on his nappy but that's it

I just don't know if he is actively holding it in then because it can't have been too hard last night, it was mush!

Ohhh what did I miss?!

Dyra · 15/06/2020 19:51

Probably just a spam bot.

Glad to hear Arthur was productive once again. :3

Horehound · 15/06/2020 19:54

Lol yep and another just a wee while ago so that's good :)

happydays00 · 15/06/2020 20:16

Oh @db92 that sounds really tough on the sleep front, I'm sorry! I don't have any advice I'm afraid but I hope it passes soon. Would you consider a sleep consultant?

@kyles101 also sounds tough. I think it is prime time for separation anxiety around 9/10 months. Are you noticing anything else like that during the day?

@Horehound how is the poo situation today?

Horehound · 15/06/2020 20:33

@happydays00 he did a poop today not too long ago. He likes to take himself off somewhere and do it. Do other babies do that?!
Was a good amount and soft again.
I fed him mostly soft stuff today so maybe that made a difference. Need to give him more substance tomorrow and see how we go.
Earlier I gave him my nectarine to bite and he grabbed hold of it and devoured the whole thing in just a few minutes. Maybe that had an impact on him too haha
