@bakingqueen welcome. How are you finding having a baby and a 3 year old? We're contemplating trying again in a couple of years but the thought terrifys us. Also we now have a WhatsApp group if you'd like to join us? What's babies name?

Thanks for the welcome - my daughter is called Giuliana. A baby with a 3 year old is a rollercoaster one minute it’s hugs and kisses the next it’s let your sister have a feed without poking her !!! Lockdown is making him slightly more feral than usual

bakingqueen · 13/05/2020 21:05

Watts app would be fab

Jesskir89 · 14/05/2020 17:31

@bakingqueen I can imagine! If you pm minijmac your number she will add you as she's the admin :)

Hi all I'm a bit late to join but hope that's not a problem.
My little one is 10 week tomorrow she was born via elective c-section 30th March. She was a planned/surprise baby (wasn't expecting it to happen that quick) I also have a 15 month old little girl so life's a little hectic at the moment. Hope your all well

Fiddlesticks345 · 07/06/2020 23:01

Hello all, I’m also a late joiner and baby also born on 30th March @bellbaeu! Anyone else for 30th March? Are people still posting here?? Would love to be able to compare notes!

abbs1 · 08/06/2020 07:34

Good morning to you new joiners and welome. Congratulations on your new arrivals. We had this page going and i was really enjoying it but then some people decided to make their own thing and the page has been silent ever since sadly 😔 I would love to keep it going though.

Fiddlesticks345 · 08/06/2020 09:40

Thanks for your response @abbs1! When was your baby born? Boy or girl?

Jesskir89 · 08/06/2020 11:16

Morning ladies, still here :) Abbs I'm so sorry I thought you were on the WhatsApp group under a different name I didn't realise. How you doing? Welcome new ladies and congratulations. My boy freddie was born on Friday 13th March x

Aww congratulations both! My little girl Charlotte is 10 weeks old today, born after my waters breaking at 37 weeks weighing 6lb7, last weighed at 8 week check and came in at 11lb5- which I think is good progress??

Our main challenge at the moment is that between her night feed at around 3:30am and the morning (7:30am), she strains like crazy as if trying to pass wind or poo. She’ll be asleep at the same time but going really red in the face, straining and grunting/whimpering really loudly, then back to quietly sleeping, then repeat- sometimes for like 2 hours on and off! Has anyone heard of this type of thing before? She does strain during the day too but usually follows up quite promptly with filling her nappy. We’re BF.

abbs1 · 08/06/2020 13:17

@jesskir89 oh wow! Sounds like Freddie is doing really well.

@fiddlestick345 oh how sweet. She sounds shes growing well.
In terms of the grunting etc Joseph had that every morning and he would fuss and cry for 2 hours and we had to massage his tummy until he could poo. we gave him infacol 3 or 4 times a day before a feed and it helped massively to stop the grunting etc before he passed a poo. Now thats hes on special milk he hasnt needed the infacol and he doesnt strain much to poo.

bellbaeu · 08/06/2020 17:14

Thanks for the welcome.
My little girl Daisy is 10 week old today, born at 39 weeks weighing 7lb15, she's now 12lb6 she's going to be tall she's really long haha.

@abbs1 Daisy has just been diagnosed with cmpa today. How's your little one getting on, what milk is he on now?

abbs1 · 08/06/2020 17:28

@bellbaeu aww how sweet! Joseph is doing so much better. I was really annoyed as i raised the issue before he was born as i have a milk allergy to lactose and my husband has the milk protein allergy. They all said he couldnt get it and i spoke to 5 doctors over 10 weeks from when he was born and midwives and my health visitor and they all said its reflux and not to worry. He had a rash all over his face he cried whenever he ate he couldnt poo he kept sicking up and he wasnt growing that much and was hardly drinking his milk. It was a 30min battle to get him to take 2oz and i could see he was so hungry but the milk hurt him to drink. I wasnt having it and so i finally managed to get my doctor who listened and put him on similac which is protein and lactose free milk and Joseph is like a new baby! Totally chilled out sleeping well happy and not constantly crying grunting fussing etc and hes drinking 4oz bottles. Just sad it took so long to get him the help.

Hello to the newbies I’ve not talked to yet. I’ve got Giuliana she was 13 weeks on Friday born at 38+6 via c section and is currently 5.11 kg she been very fussy since her second lot of injections and only taking small feeds other than that she’s a dream being very good and adored by her older brothers who are creating chaos in the house today - home schooling is my least favourite thing !!

Jesskir89 · 08/06/2020 18:54

We've got 2 baby daisy's on here now, lovely name. Is anyone up north?

Fiddlesticks345 · 08/06/2020 19:18

@abbs1 so awful you had to battle so hard to get them to listen to you Sad At least Joseph is happier now though!

Hi @bakingqueen! Giuliana is such a gorgeous name, love it 😍 awww her brothers are going to be so protective of her when they all get older! I always wanted older brothers!

abbs1 · 08/06/2020 19:35

@bakingqueen awww i love your little girls name! How old are your boys? I take my hat off to you and anyone else homeschooling. Joseph is my first and hes enough for now let alone trying to take care and school other children.

@fiddlesticks345 i was nearly in tears down the phone to the doctor. He was so lovely and saw Joseph last week in clinic as well did a full check of him and weighed him and that made me feel a lot better.

@jesskir89 no im on the essex Hertfordshire border.

bellbaeu · 09/06/2020 15:13

@abbs1 aww bless him, poor baby! Glad you finally got it sorted.
Daisy was constantly being sick, really unsettled after her feed, she's started off constipated then it turned to really bad explosive diarrhoea.
We were the same getting fobbed off off with reflux and "some babies are just sicky" also doc was blaming the explosive nappies on her 8 week injections! She had the diarrhoea from 6 weeks not 8!! Yesterday was the final straw, she was screaming from 4am yesterday morning had nappy was full of mucous and her poor bum labia was red raw she looked so sore. Finally got some milk for her to try! Fingers crossed it helps. So far so good, no explosive nappies yet but that could be due to the gaviscon she started yesterday.

@bakingqueen such a lovely name your little girl has. How do you pronounce it?

@Jesskir89 I'm from South Yorkshire!
@Fiddlesticks345 I always wanted older brothers as well haha

abbs1 · 09/06/2020 15:25

@bellbaeu oh no! Thats awful. I really hope the new milk helps.
Joseph was having issues from 1 week in after i couldnt breastfeed. He was also prescribed gaviscon but it makes him constipated so i stopped. They also tried carobel to thicken his milk to help the reflux but he got so constipated he had to have lactulose and had massive blow outs! And he also had the mucus and that was it for me.
This milk his poo is runny but at least hes not straining to poo and he poos 2 times a day so hes happy. No more 4am wake ups and crying for 2 hours to poo.

singme · 17/06/2020 09:59

Hi all and hello to the new people! Just seen this thread has been posted on again. I had taken a mumsnet break as I was getting obsessive about Evie’s sleep and just reading the sleep threads all the time and beating myself up! Then I kind of decided to go with the flow and much happier for it!

Just wondering, has anyone had family hold their babies yet? I don’t know what to do! I’m not sure the government will ever say it’s ok!

Fiddlesticks345 · 17/06/2020 11:00

Hi! Well we haven’t got a ‘bubble’ and my sister had stayed home for 5 weeks without even going for shopping or anything (her and her husband both furloughed), so I let her come over and hold the baby. No one else yet though! I feel the same as you, can’t really see an end to it all!!

Fiddlesticks345 · 17/06/2020 11:01

What were your issues with Evie’s sleep? I’m always worrying about sleep too!

bakingqueen · 17/06/2020 11:53

I let my parents hold her a few weeks ago as they have been isolating and Giuliana has had no contact with anyone outside our house
