Oh I should have known better really. Some part of me clings to the notion that you get better customer service in bricks and mortar stores...but that's just a pipe dream

daisyandbabybootoo · 08/09/2007 18:17

BadZelda....HERE

It says they do free next day delivery as well.

Did I do good?

thats a bag o'shite bz! write/email them. we spend enoughh sodding money in there for them to bloody well be able to get one to a local shop for you. or deliver to you.

i'd write, telling them of your massive struggle, how you were in tears on the bus, struggling with a tired toddler and newborn, and how hard it will be in the forthcoming weeks without one.

i can lend you my double - i'll be over at kings hospital on wednesday morning if you want me to meet you, or drop by - you are on my way. i'll dig out a pic of it - might be too big to store tho - its a side by side.

daisyandbabybootoo · 08/09/2007 18:22

why can't they deliver anyway? they do do deliveries as we got a matress delivered that wasn't available in store. We paid for it instore on the Sunday and it was delivered on the Thursday IIRC.

try kiddicare too - usually cheapest

foxybrown · 08/09/2007 18:27

lo went into the creche for the first time today. she loved it!

BadZelda · 08/09/2007 18:28

Daisy, if I wasn't married already I think I'd be down on one knee right now. Ordered! Fingers crossed it gets here by mon/tuesday. At least we can use the family vehicle tomorrow: www.flickr.com/photos/75334839@N00/1268147937/ , so thanks for the kind offer, Foxy, but hopefully it won't be necessary!

BadZelda · 08/09/2007 18:30

Daisy, they can very well deliver...but for some obscure reason because I'd taken it back to the shop, I had to collect the replacement from there. (allegedly they had a spare doubles kit there that I was supposed to pickup as a replacement...turned out to be for the e3 version). Arseholes. I just quoted consumer rights at them and got my money back. Figured it would be quicker buying one somewhere else than waiting for them to sort it out.

BadZelda · 08/09/2007 18:45

They're DH's pictures. And we're off out too: to see Zion Train - a blast from the past.

TALLULAHBELLE · 08/09/2007 19:09

My DD is 12 weeks old today & I have just put her in front of CBeebies for last hour so cd cook & eat my tea. I am a bad mummy already - gawd she'll be eating chicken nuggets & drinking Irn Bru by 6 months & watching horror movies by the time she's 5!

Must go & interact with her before bath & bed.

TALLULAHBELLE · 08/09/2007 19:24

Quick weaning qust for Derlor if she's around. When people talk of weaning @ 4 months/6 months etc is that calendar months or does it mean 16 weeks? Just curious, my wee one quite happy with booby for now.

Jamantha · 08/09/2007 19:37

DH now doing bedtime with DD - first night in her cot!! We're trying her in the basket inside the cot tnoight though, as a step of adjustment. But she lay awake quite happily in the cot this afternoon when we got it ready.

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 21:37

good luck with the cot jamantha. sorry the link was late - i didn't know if there would be good places in other areas worth going to. will have to remember for next year.

sputnik that sounds rubbish. don't they have the same education laws in italy? good luck.

dh redeemed himself (almost) by keeping the kids away for 1 1/2 hours. he thenn took the kids to mcds while i went to supermarket for wine, crisps & curry! we went to visit the gps (the nice ones) and after a bath and feed baggins played happily on his mat for long enough for me too wash up and do some ironing! feeding again now though, but i was ready for a sit down.

dh is getting me drawn in to dr who - HELP ME!

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 21:38

sorry, meant to add "tomorrow" on the end of that about heritage sites.

nite all.

enjoy your real lives!!!

Rx

sputnik · 08/09/2007 21:39

Love the photos BadZ.

I have had a bad day. Baby sputnik didn't want to sleep didn't want to be awake, just was unsettled. DD didn't want to nap, then crashed on the sofa at 6, kept falling off, wouldn't wake up, whinged when she did, blah blah blah.

Also, DH broke the news yesterday that he'll probably have to go abroad for work for a couplee of weeks at the end of the month, so I'll be joining you work widows soon I reckon. He's had to do it in the past for much longer periods, so it's not completely new for me, but not since we've had kids - not sure how I'll cope. Contemplating coming over to UK to stay with my parents...... but probably won't.

sputnik · 08/09/2007 21:50

Ria it is in fact illegal to have more than 28 kids per class here, and they have been requesting more teachers for the last 4 years or something, with no luck, beaurocracy heree is crap. Thing is it isn't proper school so not a "right" IYSWIM, so normally they'd accept 28 according to age, parent's income etc then make a waiting list. Just that they didn't say they would. I am well pissed off.
Wished we lived in Emilia Romagna where the communists have been in power for the last 60 years and they have shit-hot Montessori nurseries admired the world over (/end rant)

trendaverter · 08/09/2007 21:58

Not caught up, just a v quick post for the real nappy lovers...

useful site

sputnik · 08/09/2007 22:24

Oh hooray, someone else without a social life
I should go to bed really

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 22:40

if it is illegal then they shouldn't get away with it right? things that are important are alway bollocks i find...

can you believe the first night i have not been attached to baggins and ther is bugger all on tv. i am watching "remarkable trees on bbc4. makes a change from dr who i suppose. (the only thing about me watcing dr who is I start to think that maybe it's actually true and charles dickens really did save the world etc. suppose it shows good writing...i am just odd!)

I am going to take a big step - in a minute - and turn the computer off!

DS1 begged granny to invite us for lunch tomorrow, so chances are I shouldn't be here all day being weird.

Am going to watch Steven Fry 50 not out. Why does even Emma Thompson look glamourous?

Jamantha · 09/09/2007 09:15

Well the cot was quite a sucess. She slept 8 - 1 and 1.30 - 5.15, which was almost as good as when she's been in with us and better than we'd feared the first night might be. She ended up in with us from 6-7.30 though as she'd had enough of being on her own, but that's not so bad.

bumperlicious · 09/09/2007 10:01

That's great news jamantha, what a relief.

andiem · 09/09/2007 10:11

that's good news jamantha my lo did 7 till 5 and then till 7 so another good night. He only feeds for about 10 mins as well so I'm not up for long

Feeling very 'fly' this morning as house is tidy and have been to the tip already but had to wait in the queue for 30 mins
you fly girls you know the shiny sink thing do you just do that once and then it stays shiny??????

off to get lunch ready now as friends coming
