Thanks daisy, now get outta here! Enjoy your chinese!

Jamantha · 08/09/2007 13:23

We have cleared space in baby's room and assembled the cot! Now we just need to get a matress and she can try sleeping in her own room tonight.

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 13:27

is everyone else off having RL?

i have spent the morning (since about 5am) trying not to murder dh. if he doesn't stop moaning & sighing... (have now sent him for a nap) think he is also trying for the "our house is a tip so let's start with the most pointless and unneccessary job" award. he unplugged all the computer to move tjhe cupboard and buggered it up so then had to spend even more time mending it and telling baggins how clever he is cos he did fix it. am thinking "...pig shit"

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 13:31

2 questions if anyone can help.

is anyone using those baby bag-suit things for bed? what do los need to wear with them now and in winter? baggins hates blankets...

can i give a ff just once without messing up our feeding pattern? if i were to decide on mixed feeding how many ffs should lo have and when is best?

is that more than 2 questions?

Jamantha · 08/09/2007 13:39

ria, we have a baby gro-bag, and it has a chart saying what to wear depending on room temp. I can look it up later and post up the details for you? (sorry hands full of grumbly baby right now)

Jamantha · 08/09/2007 13:41

just read 2nd Q. We give one FF a day, at 7pm to make her lovely and settled for bed. No problems so far (touch wood) and HVs have not started trying to persuade us otherwise.

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 13:43

thanks jamantha. i too will have grmbly baby in a minute as i am going to detach him!

daisyandbabybootoo · 08/09/2007 13:46

Ria...Grobag info

if you buy a sleeping bag from next/asda etc, it doesn't usually tell you what tog rating they are, but i would guess at 2.5.

i got a nice bag in tkmaxx....can't remember the brand name....and it was only a tenner.

jamantha, do you express later then?

i tried formula with babyboo once or twice, but she puked everywhere and had a really sore tummy.

if daisy were here i'd tell her that i am thinking of expressing at 9.30pm, just before i go to bed, as i get so swollen between 7pm (she feeds from me and then has FF on top of that) and 2 or 3am when she normally wakes. Haven't done so yet, as by then am too tired and lazy to be arsed. Don't get chance to express during day to get extra to replace evening FF as she feeds too frequently that there's not enough time in the day. Getting her settled at night is so important to us,as otherwise we wouldn't get to eat and have the one hour or so together that we do get each evening - it's not much time together but it is very important to us.

but as i'm sure daisy said she wouldn't be here today i can't

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 14:08

thanks for that info.

my bigger boys are drving me mad. if they aren't fighting they're loitering. and ds2 woke dh up when he went to the loo so dh will, to use one of dms best phrases, be like a bear with a sore arse all afternoon.

baggins is feeding again.

i got my appt through today to see the MHN - 1st november. good thing i'm not actualyy suffering pnd!

Fark off Daisy!!!! (in the nicest possible way)
Trace, fab news re Chloe gettin ghome In answer to your question head lag is only a concern when it is still occuring at 6 months, don't worry. babies all do things at their own pace - my DS never attempted to crawl then walked at 10.5 months, DD crawled around everywhere until she eventually decided to walk at 15 months!!

sputnik · 08/09/2007 14:48

Snap Ria, my DH just came i to complain that the baby crying was stopping HIM from having a nap. Grrrr

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 15:01

MEN!

bloody facebook, have just managed to get back into my account and the scrabulous link isnt working properly.

derlor · 08/09/2007 15:03

oh i was having trouble with scrab yesterday, think we've overloaded it!!
i'll play you Ria when it's working again x
Sputnik, you got that baby to stop crying yet?????????

derlor · 08/09/2007 15:05

Ria who have you made friends with so far? If i can find you i'll invite you to be my friend and start up a game.

derlor · 08/09/2007 15:07

oh oh feeding time, back soon x

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 15:08

bugger it. it's heritage open day today (free admission to places). some places are open tomorrow too , but not near us.

this www.heritageopendays.org/ has a search facility for venues and times. we could have gone to a castle if i'd known before now

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 15:11

i'm not sure who my friends are derlor. i find facebook a bit complicated! i'm tina, i wanted to change my name but it gave me a nasty message about nicknames not being allowed so i didn't dare.

i don't want to be sat here but CANNOT FACE taking the little gits for a walk. roll on bed/wine time...

riabutterflew · 08/09/2007 15:19

right, according to my earlier post, dh has had nearly 2 hours. i am off to wake him up and swap...

I NEED TO BE AWAY FROM MY CHILDREN (even tne small gorgeous one - currently not feeding!)

see ya later

sputnik · 08/09/2007 15:57

good for you Ria, I know eexaactly how you're feeling!
baby Sputnik doesn't want to sleep except on my lap today, preferably within easy reach of my norks, so out of consideration to dH I am glued to the sofa again.

we went to meeting about DD's new nursery today, as the parents are getting together to demand a second teacher. It's completely out of order, there is 1 teacher for 31 children of ages 3 to 6. Anyway we got a lawyer to write a letter and everyone signed, but tbh I can't see anything changing soon.
Plus the place is a dump there was rat shit in the toilets (presumably that will be cleaned before they actually reopen on tuesday ) and, though I didn't see an actual classroom, the room we were in had a bloody xmas tree on the wall. So I'm going to have to try and get DD in at a nursery in the next village, just that they are overcrowded atm too as 1 of the 3 nurseries is closed for refurbishment. AAAArgh. Can see DD staying where she is for while, it's a private nursery but very cheap. Sorry to bore you all.

justbeme · 08/09/2007 18:05

Ria thanks for the link re british heritage - I JUST found it and I could have gone to a visit 5 mins away from my house but it closed an hour ago!!
I was just saying to my DP how our local paper is CRAP, they never advertise things the week they happen but then the following week you see a write up about an event you would have gone to had you known.

BadZelda · 08/09/2007 18:05

FOR GAWDS SAKE

Well - I thought I'd struck a blow for consumer rights today...but mothercare got me good and proper.

The short version....bought a phil and ted's a couple of months ago, with doubles kit, and the seat part of the double's kit has come adrift...I went to mothercare and paid slightly more for it, foolishly thinking if it did fuck up then at least they do replacement buggies / returns. Little did I know....so SEVEN hours later, many calls to customer services AND a trip to oxford street I now have

NO doubles kit on my buggy - and had to carry matilda all the way back! I ended up getting my money back as they wanted me to go BACK to oxford street to collect the doubles bit when it's been delivered to their store (no, they wouldn't deliver it to my house). SO does anyone know where I can get the doubles bit pronto, and delivered asap? (it's for the sport, not the e3)

Holly - I'm thinking you (or Annobal?) will come up trumps with this...

Jamantha · 08/09/2007 18:13

BZ, that's pants!! We were VERY disappointed with our 1st visit to MC. Seems that it's not just us got bad treatment (at diff branches)
