and I'm fat

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/09/2007 13:25

holly, I'm sure they don't think you're a weirdo...just a busy mum with a newborn and a trying DD. They'll have all been there themselves.

Feeding seems to have cleared things a bit.

Sputnik, I expressed at 11ish for a few nights, but it just made me even more engorged as my norks thought they were in demand more . I think maybe I'm just not cut out for this BF malarkey.

DKMA, have you swapped to formula now? I can imagine that riding your horse with full, leaky boobs may have been something of a challenge!

LOL at Led Zeppelin. My DD is lying on her playmat which plays Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin .....not intentional by us, you understand; we just didn't realise the tunes it played when we bought it!

Baby Cafe doesn't start till next week (sad) but there's another one I can go to tomorrow!

sputnik · 06/09/2007 13:27

My DD complains nowadays if we put any music on that isn't "hers", and she used to bounce around to David Bowie and Frank Zappa once upon a time. And if I try and sing at all she says no mummy, T-bear song, T-bear song (don't ask, it's a song we made up and I wish we hadn't)

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/09/2007 13:29

andie, i think if you just explain to her that the demands of the LO and your DS are making it difficult for you to have her DD around at the moment she should surely understand.

the poor wee girl though, she's probably just being mean as an outlet for her anger at what's happening at home...

...hark at the child psychologist...if only I could put those ideas into practice at home!

I've still not found my passport

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 06/09/2007 13:36

AIBU to expect my DH to call me to find out if I still have a job or not???
He knew I was finding out at midday!!!

Holly - yep I now use a combo of frozen breast milk (was expressing at 10 every evening to stop my boobs exploding!!) and Hipp organic formula now!

andiem · 06/09/2007 13:38

no dkma your dh should ring you

trendaverter · 06/09/2007 13:41

Have said no to job
starts too soon (monday!!)

trendaverter · 06/09/2007 13:42

DKMA no you are NBU

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/09/2007 13:47

YANBU DKMA...although is he maybe stuck in a meeting or something?

TA that does sound a bit much!

andiem · 06/09/2007 13:54

TA how could you start on monday my head is in veggie like state most of time at the moment (maybe that is why I am so crap at scrab ha good excuse )

trendaverter · 06/09/2007 14:03

My head is also in veggie state (but it's coming back!)

The whole thing makes me feel really depressed but DH is working all the hours god sends and we need to make ends meet, I can't expect any more of him (he IS wonderful and works his butt off) and I just feel I should be doing my bit to help. I think I will look for work in November, after my holiday. Also gives me time to lose a bit of the weight!

andiem · 06/09/2007 14:06

ooh the thought of getting into my work clothes fills me with fear maybe I should have another choccy bic to take my mind off it

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 06/09/2007 14:21

oooh TA - MONDAY!!??
My head is in a veggie state and my brain is up my arse at the mo - no way could do that!!

Still no phone call from DH?!! Wanker!!! I don't think he has any meetings today - I wonder if he now sees me as the 'little woman at home' and my job is no longer important??

foxybrown · 06/09/2007 14:25

I'm sure that's not the case DKMA.

Its just his is MORE important

Don't get me started on DPs GRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 06/09/2007 14:37

I think your right Foxy
I think I will milk this for all it's worth and make him feel really bad about his total lack of regard
Oh - and I'll remind him that I earn more than him - I do that when he behaves all self important - I am SUCH a bitch - I know!!!

crissy82 · 06/09/2007 14:50

Hi I am crissy, mom to 3 month old romario

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/09/2007 14:51

hi chrissy and welcome to this thread

My dd was 3 months old on Tuesday, and I'm struggling to see where the time has gone!

Is this your 1st baby?

riabutterflew · 06/09/2007 14:53

baby baggins has just done a poo that was like green snot (tmi?). is it just his cold?

he didn't even sleep til nursery and back and is now feeding again (but dh has installed a wireless keyboard so i can 'pute from the sofa). I need to clean my kitchen

riabutterflew · 06/09/2007 14:55

hi chrissy

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/09/2007 14:55

lol dkma...I used to do that with dh as well....but this new job of his put paid to that!

righty ho school run....well brisk walk....then off to the park for an hour!

andiem · 06/09/2007 14:56

hello chrissy

me off for school run too

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/09/2007 14:56

probably ria...if they swallow too much snot and mucous, it just comes out the other end...or it could be a tummy upset.

are you still bf?

riabutterflew · 06/09/2007 15:07

i am still bf, don't know how much longer i'll manage. i'm really tired and dh has been doing too much so is in pain and has given up helping. i am enjoying it and dh says i'm doing really well, but baggins is so unsettled (i suppose that might be temporary too re cold). i could just do with a couple of long stretches so i can do some stuff.
the main thing keeping me going is the extra HEs for bf on slimming world!

sorry, feeling a bit moany today

Charlie999 · 06/09/2007 15:14

Afternoon

Blimey you've all been busy today...taken me ages to catch up and now can't remember anything ...although I would be mightily pissed off DKMA if DH hadn't rung me to find out....glad you've still got your job to go back to tho

Holly - hope you're feeling better....did make me though about the brie and tomatoes on your bum - that is the sort of thing I do!

Andiem....sounds like you have the patience of a saint...

Right...off to do something constructive....like more blardy housework

Oh BTW Welcome Chrissy

Jamantha · 06/09/2007 15:35

hi chrissy, and welcome.

ria, don't worry about being moany.

what a day for things not working out. Took DD to "stay and play" this morning, only it got a bit much for her as all the other children were rather older, so it was very noisy, and there was very little she could do (not that she does much really). I could see she was trying to take it all it, but like I said it got a bit much for her so we went home early and they suggested we went to "Stay and chat" in the afternoon instead, which is specifically designed for younger children and more sedate. So we set out for our afternoon walk rather earlier than normal and marched round extra quick so as to get back to the childrens centre in time for the 2nd half of "stay and chat" - only to find we were the only people there! So very sedate. The nice lady gave me a drink anyway and I fed DD and had a half hour sit down then we came home again.
