Oh T, that sounds distressing. Weren't the parents there?!

TALLULAHBELLE · 05/09/2007 17:06

The mum was hanging out the other window obviously trying to keep him still & calm. I have no idea how he got out but the window behind him was closed. If they're like mine they open outwards so he wouldn't have been able to be rescued from inside. Mental note to self - move out of 2nd storey flat before DD learns to crawl.

TALLULAHBELLE · 05/09/2007 17:10

Have been off the computer for few days trying to have a RL ! It's over-rated - did I miss anything important, there's almost a whole thread to read & i don't think i'll manage. Got friends coming overin hour or so & really should hoover & skoosh some bleach down the loo.

bumperlicious · 05/09/2007 17:11

Oh how awful for the mother! When we went to view our new flat (1st floor) the landlord mentioned that the sash windows open top as well as bottom in case we were worried nodding towards DD, I hadn't even thought about the fact that when she is bigger she could open them!

bumperlicious · 05/09/2007 17:12

We've started up a weight watching thread to get us motivated!

andiem · 05/09/2007 19:19

Need to go and have some tea will catch up tomorrow as very tired

NattyThomasandEllen · 05/09/2007 19:34

good evening ladies

annobal · 05/09/2007 19:35

I don't seem to be able to settle C at the moment. I feed him then pop him into bed and he works himself into hysterics. I don't want to go near controlled crying but any other suggestions welcome!

annobal · 05/09/2007 19:40

Bloody hell T, how horrible!

Holly, am thinking I need to resign our scrabble as I keep getting vs and zs and ks but no vowels (well that's my excuse anyway).

loonylovegood · 05/09/2007 19:53

That's because I've got all the sodding vowels!!

Shall we start another game?

Jamantha · 05/09/2007 20:12

Evening all. Phew, glad that little boy was OK TA, and shame about the firemen.

I've just put DD to bed for the first time in ages (normally DH settles her), thought I'd better get some practice in as not only is DH away for a weekend soon, at the end of the month he goes to Seattle for a week. I'll be taking DD to my parents for part of that week - any tips on taking LOs to stay at friends/relatives?? Also, I'm not sure if she'll fit in the moses basket by then so does anyone have any recommendations for a travel cot? (Or did I ask that already?)

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/09/2007 20:44

it's quiet here tonight....is everyone off scrabbing?

Charlie999 · 05/09/2007 21:07

I'm lurking Daisy

Jamantha - I've got a mamas and papas travel cot that has a bassinet - its actually up in my lounge as she sleeps in it during the day and there is a changing station on it as well. When she's a bit older, it will also be a play-pen for her! Got it from Argos for about 40 quid.

faylisa · 05/09/2007 21:10

I'm lurking too. I have a standard pac-n-play Graco travel cot which I've always found to be ok - nothing special but does the job! I also bought a mattress pad from Mothercare which makes it a bit softer. Before I had that I always put a folded towel under the sheet as all travel cot mattresses seem really hard to me

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/09/2007 21:11

i wish my travel cot had a bassinet....being a wee spout, i nearly tip myself in when i try to lift DD out of mine. and it does my back in trying to out her in without dropping her and tucking her in!

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/09/2007 21:12

good idea on the matress pad faylisa, it'll make it closer too. I suppose a folded up duvet would do just as well?

loonylovegood · 05/09/2007 21:13

I've got one of those charlie, can't remember what make it is, but it has a bassinet and a flip over changing mat. I was given it, but barely used it as dd wouldn't sleep in a cot and screamed the house down when I tried to use it as a playpen. Anyone who wants it can have it for a tenner!!

'Tis quiet isn't it? I've been busy watching project runway after my mega takeaway pig out feast!

Charlie999 · 05/09/2007 21:14

this is a bargain for a travel cot - no bassinet tho - I'm so short which is why I made sure mine had one Daisy ...DD sleeps on a blanket in hers - but only for naps...I would use a duvet or something if she was in it all night

Charlie999 · 05/09/2007 21:15

Sounds the same Holly - my changing mat flips over....she used to sleep on that when she first came home....

daisyandbabybootoo · 05/09/2007 21:19

..and scrabulous isn't playing tonight. I keep getting the kinky page!

DD has just gone to sleep on top of me and i had a major row with DS earlier. Think the jabs have taken a bit longer to upset her this time (charlie take note) and DS is doing the whole start of school madness as he adjusts to the new, probably stressful, and confusing routine.

arse i need a drink but only have gin....no tonic!

trendaverter · 05/09/2007 21:20

I got a Hauck one for £15 brand new from Ebay.
It's fine, simple, nothing flash but does the job. I use it all the time for DS when I am in Essex.
You can get the same one (just diff colour) from tesco for about £20 I think.

There are some with adjustable heights and change stations and all sorts though that look really nice, I am just tight.

faylisa · 05/09/2007 21:21

Scrab is driving me mad - it keeps kicking me out

trendaverter · 05/09/2007 21:25

hmmm only bad thing about the Hauck one is that it isn't very long. I can see DS growing out out it relatively soon-ish. So it might have been a false economy.

Anyway. I am off to bed, am dead tired. Just got DS off to sleep now it's my turn.
Night ladies x

loonylovegood · 05/09/2007 21:26

I can't fecking go daisy! This game is driving me balmy! I've been trying to suss out a move for ages!
