im on scrabulous all on my own

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/09/2007 23:12

the one in kirkcaldy isn't too bad as the baby pool is in it's own wee room, but i suppose it's a bit of a trail. although we used to come up to St Andrews for a change as KDY is a bit boring, at least in St A there's a slide.

Gawd i must go to bed.....I've had some honey and lemon herbal tea.

riabutterflew · 03/09/2007 23:45

good luck with flat natty. fwiw i'm 29, been married 11 1/2 years (little smug dance - everyone said it wouldn't last)and have 3 dcs. am also wondering what i'll do. if we are still skintish I'll try a teaching degree, if we are super rich then hopefully we'll have a nice little hotel somewhere where I can have a tearoom and DH can have a nighttime bistro. But then if we have lots of money we'll have a bigger house and room for more babies! How do I decide which unlikely dream to choose? (for now I would settle for time to join in at scrabulous!)

LOL at cowbag - haven't heard that since I was at school.

DHs DS was born with teeth apparently (but then talking bollocks is a family failing).

We wento to a farm today. So I have had to spend my evening ironing on the nametapes I should have done ages ago, and finding out the jumpers my F gave me have holes in!

FWIW I don't want DS2 to start nursery tomorrow (When DS1 started school they stayed at PG til 4 then went to pre-reception til 41/2. now the school has a nursery unit so it's from 3. At least they change nappies at PG now, but I think it's a bit much to expect the potty trained ones to wipe their own bottoms at 3). What with that and DS1s test results I am dreading tomorrow and will be glad when it's over.

riabutterflew · 03/09/2007 23:51

do you want to know my really sad bit of happy news - I can still get into my pre-PG bra and it's really comfy!

RE lifestyle changes. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my diet! Do you think DH will lose weight on S/W BF extra H/Es? (He will be mighty pissed off if I am having 4 extra things per day that he isn't! He has got a bit porky recovering from his op. Just have to get him to cook with SW principles!)

Johnny Depp - Pirates or Chocolat? Which is best? (Almost prefer Top Gear but can't watch it for fear of dodgy dreams coming back!)

Good luck to everyone who has 1st day of school tomorrow.

NattyThomasandEllen · 04/09/2007 01:19

i was born with a tooth.. so he may not be as full of shit as u think
and why am i awake at such dreadfully small hour.. (1 being the smallest hour technically) DH is stuck at work csthe alarm got tripped and he is not allowed to leave the building till the engineer gets to him to reset it. typical... stay awake cos he complains im never awake, and even cook for him and what does he do? get stuck at work

Official June weight loss thread

kandymouse · 04/09/2007 08:29

Hi. I gave birth on June 20th this year to my first baby. Can I join your thread? I don't have mummy friends around so it would be great to chat to you online at least!!

bumperlicious · 04/09/2007 08:39

Snap kandymouse! What did you have and how big?

Are you new to mumsnet? Do join us, it may seem like we all know each other, and some of us do, but some people are relative newbies to this thread you just have to get stuck in!

We have also had a couple of meet ups but we all met on this thread. Don't know if you go on facebook but we also have a group on there and are all currently obsessed with scrabulous!

trendaverter · 04/09/2007 08:42

Hi Kandymouse!
Welcome!

bumperlicious · 04/09/2007 08:47

Ok, off to get ready for breastfeeding group! See you guys later.

daisyandbabybootoo · 04/09/2007 10:41

morning chicks....i've joined your weight loss thread bumper...yay for kicking it off!

Hi kandymouse and much welcome to out thread. like bumper said, just get stuck in. we're a nice bunch with a warped sense of humour. we also moan a lot about DH/DPs!!

Got a grumpy DD this morning. She has my throat/chest lurgy I think (we are both coughing and spluttering) and just wants to comfort suck. She's been like a limpet this morning!

Yay, 1st day of term today! DS looked ever so smart this morning in his new clobber...give it a week though adn things will look decidedly tatty! DH reported that the school has finally fenced off the grass banking at the back of the playground so hopefully no more coming home head to foot in mud!!! This year we are getting till Thursday to go in the cloakroom with them...after that they are on their own...my big grown up boy

daisyandbabybootoo · 04/09/2007 10:44

TA....have a nice time at Holly's house today!!

Ria, I'd go for pirates. Though I've never seen Chocolat I read the book and suspect you'd end up with severe munchies

I too am a bit wobbly about sending DD off to the new nursery, though she's been at another one for a year and 1/2 it's for small kids up to 3 and they have a different approach - I sat in with them for a week and they did everything possible to get her settled, including having her on their laps etc for as long as it took. Also she's quite shy and though she understands italian vrey well she doesn't really speak it much. Also the local one, it turns out, has far too many kids all in 1 class of mixed ages. Not good so we might have to end up sending her elsewhere.....

Welcome Kandymouse

sputnik · 04/09/2007 11:28

DG how old is your DS? Can't offer any advice but loads of sympathy as, whilee baby Sputnik sleeps a good 6 hour stretch most nights, my DD has been waking up at night this last week as she has a cold. She's 3 and was always a crap sleeper and still wakes up the odd night even when there's nothing wrong with her.

daisyandbabybootoo · 04/09/2007 11:38

DG, It has always been really warm when I've been. It is in a separate room and if they keep the doors closed it gets like a sauna. I'd call them and check what temp it is at tho as things may have changed.

Burtisland is good as well. No separate baby pool, but there is a sloping beach and the shallow area is separated from the main pool with a little tunnel connecting the two. They have flumes too for the older DCs, and a wave machine in the main pool (some small waves get around to the shallow area too and there is a little plastic slide in the shallows) They do family fun sessions at the weekends with a big inflatable obstacle course as well. Tis fab

It's got to be chocolat for me....Johnny is just beautiful in it....long hair in a pony tail, lilting irish accent. god i just lurve that man!

daisyandbabybootoo · 04/09/2007 11:39

off for a shower and to sort paperwork...must find birth and marriage certificates and passport, or we will be going no-where in october!!

andiem · 04/09/2007 11:48

Hi ladies sorry went awol yesterday as day just ran away with me. Had a lovely day though going to the tate and out for lunch then went into work lots of admiring words said about dcs.

Ds gone back to school this am and decided to go for swim as lo usually sleeps for 3 hrs in am but not this morning the minute we got to the gym he woke up so had to come home have just had to have a shower
Am off to make the cook yourself thin lemon cake so catch up later...

Jamantha · 04/09/2007 12:02

DD was SO good at baby massage class this morning For the first time ever she didn't completely show me up! Still wouldn't let me do her arms, but we did face, legs, tummy and chest before she began to complain

It won me round after waking twice last night - I shouldn't complain really, but after a fortnight of just getting up once in the night, to have to do it twice was a real shock to the system.

riabutterflew · 04/09/2007 12:23

Wow, had relatively easy first morning at nursery. No kicking and screaming - yipee (hope it lasts.)

Have to make lunch now but back later (ironing permitting.)

faylisa · 04/09/2007 12:31

Welcome Kandymouse!

Andiem - how was the Tate?

To all those who have DCs starting nursery/school, etc this morning - hope it's going ok? My DD is starting nursery 2 mornings a week from the end of the month - and much as I want her to go because I think she'll love it and it'll give me some time with DS - I'm also really nervous about how she'll settle.

andiem · 04/09/2007 12:31

I know what you mean jamantha I had a 2 night waking last night and it has knackered me

cake is in the oven yum yum

bumperlicious · 04/09/2007 12:38

Good luck to all of you who's DC's start school and nursery.

We've just got back from bfing group. It seems our problem is that I have been adjusting DD's position as she is getting bigger, so hopefully it will get better now.

I've invited a couple of the girls to come over to mine for lunch on Thurs, we are going to go to bumps and babies then they are coming back to mine - looks like I am getting some rl mummy friends!

Charlie999 · 04/09/2007 12:44

Ah that's nice Bumper....all my RL friends have kids a lot older....

Andiem..cake sounds scrummy...did you get the recipe from MN?

Hope you found all your certificates Daisy...last time I needed my birth certificate I hunted high and low and I was really up against a deadline, so rung the council in London where I was born and paid a fortune for a ultra-fast replacement...then a few weeks later it turned up ...I know where they all are now

In a really shit mood today thanks to my farking GP so will probably only lurk today and try and think of how to get better at scrabulous!

daisyandbabybootoo · 04/09/2007 12:58

lol charlie...that is so my style too.

had another lovely bath with dd this morning. she kept throwing her head back so only her face was out the water. will take her swimming at the weeend i think.

what's up with the gp charlie?

i'd love to visit london and do a gallery tour. i miss all that now i have ds...we usually go to interactvr type museums or onez with guns and weapond and science abd stuff.

i'm impressed you've all been out and about already. i can't get otivated at all.
