Sorry, couldn't think of anything witty against a background of constant whinging!

exciting life I lead...

Off to Norwich for the day tomorrow without DD...that will be very odd!

andiem · 31/08/2007 09:09

oh no daisy take to your bed and let them watch videos all day that is what I would do or just co sleep with both of them all day
hope you feel better soon

loonylovegood · 31/08/2007 09:10

TA how exciting that you can go home and have a freshly decorated house!

bubbsy · 31/08/2007 09:11

Sorry to interupt, im new to this site and dont really know what to do, does anyone live in chelmsford or surrounding areas xx

loonylovegood · 31/08/2007 09:13

Hi bubbsy! Welcome! When was your lo born?

daisyandbabybootoo · 31/08/2007 09:13

all tidied . I just noticed there's an empty yogurt pot on my cofee table. DS denies having eaten it this morning, so it must have sat there all evening, although I swear i cleared everything away last night

Is anyone else having a complete and utter brain meltdown. I'm finding myself forgetful to the point of worry (ie leaving keys dangling in lock when i went out last week), not remembering anything people say to me, or conversations I've had, forgetting words for things, trailing of in the middle of a sentence cos the words just won't come.

I remeber getting a bit of this when I had DS, but this is ridiculous. Please tell me it gets worse with subsequent children....I'm starting to worry that I have a major short circuit going on in my brain somewhere.

loonylovegood · 31/08/2007 09:15

Yes daisy I do that too, really forgetful and clumsy. I keep knocking stuff over and bashing into things and I forget everything (hence the organised mum calendar!). I put it down to tiredness!!

You ok or just feeling shit?

bubbsy · 31/08/2007 09:15

he was born in April, he's 4 and a half months old, not really sure how to use this site lol

andiem · 31/08/2007 09:16

don't worry daisy I am very forgetful too walking into rooms and not knowing why I am there etc etc

Charlie999 · 31/08/2007 09:18

I do it as well LOL ...I went out twice yeterday and both times forgot to post a letter ! Tiredness is definately a contributing factor in this house. When I'm at work, I write lists continuously of things to do...perhaps I should be doing the same at home

daisyandbabybootoo · 31/08/2007 09:19

hi bubbsy.....do you have a June LO (little one) then?

Basically, you just start talking. Everyone is really friendly and will welcome you with open arms.....just try to avoid posting about contentious subjects ie breast vs formula, parent and child parking spaces, stay at home vs working mums and you'll be sucked in and neglecting your family and housework before you know it

loonylovegood · 31/08/2007 09:19

Bubbsy there is an april post natal thread. Just go in and introduce yourself. The april ladies are all very lovely!! Here!!

bubbsy · 31/08/2007 09:21

thank you xx

loonylovegood · 31/08/2007 09:22

Daisy, which terry fold do you use? I spent all of yesterday evening trying to get one that worked on ds and in the end I got really pissed off and gave up!

daisyandbabybootoo · 31/08/2007 09:22

ah bubsy, you probably want the April post-natal club as all the LOs will be at the same stage. If you click on the topic list, find post natal clubs in the parenting topic, find April 07, and start talking. They are a nice bunch on there.

Or click on active conversations to see what's being talked about, and join in.

There are quite a few long-standing members on here and sometimes their conversations can seem a bit cliquey, but I generall avoid them.

there's also a "who are you" thread in chat at the moment. You coul pop on there and introduce yourself, or start a new thread in chat introducing yourself, if you feel brave enough!

Jamantha · 31/08/2007 09:25

Sorry to disappoint, but it was a pretty sober night out. Of 8 of us, only 4 were drinking and I didn't have the courage to be the only one to order a 2nd alcoholic drink. But was nice to catch up with friends and the food was top. Paid for it this morning though as dansak obviously is a bit strong for DD's digestive system

Am of charlie going to Norwich. That's where I'm from originally and could just fancy a visit.

loonylovegood · 31/08/2007 09:27

Glad you had a good time jamantha! Shame about the not getting pissed bit though! Prob a good thing, you wouldn't want to get into the sort of state I got into a few weeks ago! It was disgusting!

Charlie999 · 31/08/2007 09:29

Don't be Jamantha - I'm going to collect a table and chairs that I've bought off e-bay not a touristy day out....going to somewhere called Dereham just west of Norwich I think....hope to find somewhere nice for lunch though.....my sis is looking after DD and is really looking forward to it I think...and I've been told NOT to phone every hour to make sure she's OK

daisyandbabybootoo · 31/08/2007 09:30

Holly....i use This one as i find it quick and easy, but if you look Here there are lots of different folds. I like gaynor's fold as well. I tried the butterfly one, but the instructions are incomprehensible and the poo catcher one I couldn't get the hang of, but it's similar to the Jo fold.

Jo fold managed to contain a spectacularly runny poo yesterday!

loonylovegood · 31/08/2007 09:35

The jo fold looks like those paper things you made at school where you lift the flaps and insult people!

daisyandbabybootoo · 31/08/2007 09:36

glad you enjoyed youself Jamantha, and hope DD isn't too upset with the curry. My DD must have her Dad's constitution as mothing I eat seems to bother her that much.

Have a good day Charlie. I know a really nice little bistro, but it's near Hunstanton, so probably too far off your track!

loonylovegood · 31/08/2007 09:36

Thanks daisy, I love the nappy lady!! Are you using Rikki wraps?

daisyandbabybootoo · 31/08/2007 09:38

LOL, holly, that's what DH said!

I'm becoming a tad obsessive about nappies.....I was actually dreaming about them last night. I'd seen the perfect all-in-one, but couldn't find where to buy it anywhere and i was getting reaaly frantic and stressed as i was searching everywhere trying to find it. I should get out more

loonylovegood · 31/08/2007 09:39

Daisy I'm emailing you!

daisyandbabybootoo · 31/08/2007 09:41

i've got one rikki, three proraps and an old style tots (no leg gussets). The proraps and tots were second hand and are getting to the end of their useable life, but do OK. They need washing everytime though.

I've got some new wraps coming, but paid using bloody e-cheques so waiting for them to clear. I'm going to get some from that lady on e-bay though, and the new tots wraps are supposed to be really good, i like the patterned ones.

Gawd...there i go again
