Couldnt see a post natal group so have taken it upon myself to start one! Will obviously still keep up on antenatal also until babies have all arrived!

Shall we start a list of arrivals?

@Lavellan yes I also heard you can get it prescribed, if we continue to see success I'm going to ask for it this week. But yes so expensive for such a tiny bottle!!

kyles101 · 26/10/2019 19:18

So pleased to hear baby dusty is home and on the mend. They're tinkers these September babes.

Well, Chessington was pretty pants, it's very run down now. DS hated the travel cot. He was in a blind panic when I tried to put him in it the first couple of times, arms windmilling and wild eyes. My poor baby. In the end at about 2am I have in and put him in his pram next to the bed. It's a bugaboo so technically not safe for overnight but better than being in the bed with us. We didn't get home til nearly midnight last night with traffic and a couple of stops so we've all been pretty tired today.

Horehound · 27/10/2019 03:59

Hd my longest day apart from Arthur today. Has a wedding to go to so was out of the house 12.30 and back at 10. He took 3 bottles apparently No1 in full in one go then bottle 2 he took in 20ml stages and then bottle 3 wasn't finished. I also didn't pump whilst at wedding and when I got home he fed from my right boob. I just woke up and omg my left boob is like a rock hard ball! Hope It isn't going to be blocked or anythjngn. He has fed from if now but I can still feel one hard section.
Also, never want to leave him again! My mum has offered to take him overnight before but I think even she realised that amount of time is actually quite long for a little baby. She said she thought he was really very good but starting to need me/wonder where I was and I'd I was coming back so I think we were back at the right time. Any later he may have kicked off. Anyway he's sleeping on me now all happy :D

PhoebeBear · 27/10/2019 08:31

Has anyone's baby lost their hair yet? I (stupidly) read online that if they get cradle cap to use baby oil and a soft baby bristle brush to gently remove it and it took out all my little boys hair at 3 weeks. He is now 11 weeks and it's growing back blonde but he previous hair had a auburn tinge to it and he still has that hair at the back of his head. Do you think he'll lose that hair too? I wonder if that will come in blonde also

Stroan · 27/10/2019 08:51

@horehound get massaging that hard section and feed feed feed! Sounds like a successful day though.

I left DS last night for a couple of hours. I don't think he realises I was gone. It took me 13 months to leave DD so I'm quite pleased with myself for being a little more rational this time. It was a night out organised by my PT for the Mums who go to her fitness classes. I thought the chance to meet local mums was better than staying in.

@pheobebear DS hasn't lost any yet but has worn away a wee patch at the back! DD had super thick black hair for five months before it fell out (I cried!). DSs is much thinner so I'm hoping we might skip the going bald stage this time!

@dustydoorframes how are you all doing? Hope DD is fully recovered and the obnoxiousness has calmed down a little. Solidarity, we've had an awful two weeks because DD has felt a bit unwell.

boodles101 · 27/10/2019 11:21

Phoebebear Alex has lost as the hair on the top of his head, is left with the back and sides plus 2 very silly tufts by his temples 😆 I'm expecting it to grow back lighter as that's what my eldest did.
Erin hasn't lost as much, but hers did have an Auburn tinge aswell. Not sure it's staying that way though.

DustyDoorframes · 27/10/2019 14:50

All good @Stroan ! The obnoxiousness level is more variable, we've even had the odd flash of charm from both! Second guessing and overanalysing everything with DC3, of course. She's fine, but you can always find something to fret about!
@kyles101 chessington sounds a delight! I hope you had a lovely rest since getting back!!
I hadn't realised their hair falls out! Both my older ones had tons and kept it, DC3 has far less, maybe she will lose it?
@Megan2018 are you managing to ride?? It's such gorgeous outdoor weather today here, I thought of you and your horse!

PhoebeBear · 27/10/2019 15:15

@boodles101 how strange- your little one sounds just like mine! ☺️
I'm guessing my boy will go blonde as even his eyebrows have went lighter too. We shall see !

IVEgotthePUMPKINS · 27/10/2019 18:18

Those who are formula feeding, has AF returned for you yet?

iano · 27/10/2019 19:04

Those with older ones how long did it take for their eye colour to change to the permanent one? My first had brown eyes from birth I think. DS2 seems to have blue/grey eyes atm.

IVEgotthePUMPKINS · 27/10/2019 19:14

Mine have all been born blue eyed and are still blue eyed now

PhoebeBear · 27/10/2019 19:36

@IVEgotthePUMPKINS in formula feeding since week 2, my period came back week 6 x

RolyHappyNorrieTagBetty · 27/10/2019 19:39

@iano about 8/9 months before they settled (born bright blue, finished a steely blue/grey)

PhoebeBear · 27/10/2019 19:57

@RolyHappyNorrieTagBetty oh I never knew that. My 11 week old boy is grey/ blue. I'm bright blue and dad is brown, perhaps they could change

iano · 27/10/2019 21:16

Ah wow! That's fascinating @RolyHappyNorrieTagBetty
Did they just change over night? I don't think DS2 will stay blue. DH and I've both got brown eyes. I'm struggling to get a picture so I can show it to him when he's older 🤣

RolyHappyNorrieTagBetty · 27/10/2019 23:12

@iano very gradually, we only noticed every couple of months that they were getting slightly darker. Definitely not an overnight change. I think they can often change slightly even up to around a year old!

Geegrl19 · 28/10/2019 00:32

@iano both my older do eyes changed at about 10/11 months. I didn't realise they could take so long to change and had gotten used to them being that color. Both me and Dh have brown eyes so not even sure if ours could have blue anyway. Should have listened properly in that biology lesson!

happydays00 · 28/10/2019 07:09

I am convinced someone has swapped my baby. He was chilled and sleeping relatively well and we've hit week 10 and he's awake for hours at a time at night, screaming whenever he's awake in the day, it's awful!!! I remember ups and downs with my DD but nothing quite extreme as this. He's also in a breast feeding strike, literally screams if I try to put my boob anywhere near his mouth. We're getting by with expressing and formula but my god, the screaming!!!

Could this be a growth spurt? Will my chilled baby return?

kyles101 · 28/10/2019 09:17

Were only at week 8 @happydays00 so all I can do is keep my fingers crossed for you!! Everyone seems fond of "this shall pass" so I'm gonna throw it out there too. Maybe you've blocked this stage out from previous dc? Like how you forget just how awful childbirth is? Wink

kyles101 · 28/10/2019 09:18

*we're - stoopid phone! And breastfeeding posting!

RolyHappyNorrieTagBetty · 28/10/2019 11:11

@happydays00 I have no real advice as we're only at week 6 and until the last few days I've had a 24/7 screamer on my hands (and DC1 screamed day and night for 8 months so I'm definitely not someone to take advice from Confused) but wanted to show some solidarity. The constant crying is so hard. Even just a whimper now makes me all kinds of anxious as it takes me right back to months of endless screaming, I'm totally scarred! Here's hoping little one turns a corner soon and is just having a tough week.

RolyHappyNorrieTagBetty · 28/10/2019 11:12

@happydays00 actually just a thought- do you have the wonder weeks app? Can't remember if week 10 is a leap but could be worth looking into.

DustyDoorframes · 28/10/2019 11:36

@happydays00 that's young for a nursing strike, and sounds pretty extreme! It could be something like an earache, I'd pop to the gp. Poor you!!!

I thought we'd miraculously escaped toilet regression with the 3 year old- 2 puddles and a wet bed since yesterday afternoon, ho hum. At least it's a good day for laundry.

easterbuns1 · 28/10/2019 12:11

@IVEgotthePUMPKINS I got my period at 6 weeks post partum.

Afternoon everyone! I've not been on for ages but thought I'd pop on for a catch up to see how everyone's doing. Baby is 8 weeks now, we had a crappy couple of weeks where she was pretty unsettled and I was struggling a bit but hoping we've turned a corner. She's gone 6-7 hours overnight for almost a week now so that's definitely helping the situation!

db92 · 28/10/2019 12:20

@IVEgotthePUMPKINS coming up for week 7 and no sign of a period here as yet.

We're still waking every three hours during the night and it's taking its toll. Finding the whole process of feeding, winding and changing DS is taking the best part of an hour. Another good half hour to settle myself and fall asleep! Then up again an hour later to do it all again. Looking at my Fitbit, I've not has more than 4 hours sleep at night since we came home.

Praying we get some longer stretches during the night sometime soon.
