Couldnt see a post natal group so have taken it upon myself to start one! Will obviously still keep up on antenatal also until babies have all arrived!

Shall we start a list of arrivals?

@PhoebeBear welcome, Luca is absolutely gorgeous! Sorry to hear about your awful birth though!

@iano I've got a couple of Hot Milk nursing bras which give a much better shape and look a lot nicer. I went into Bravissimo and got properly fitted.

@Horehound no fever for DS after his jabs, I gave a dose of calpol as soon as I got home. He was sleepy for a few hours and then VERY screamy for a bit but thankfully slept well that night! Good luck!

Exitstrategist · 21/10/2019 07:28

I find hot milk bras the best. Often decent discounts once you sign up.

iano · 21/10/2019 08:17

Fab thank you both! Will check them out.

DustyDoorframes · 21/10/2019 10:47

@iano your boobs (and ribs) will probably change size a fair bit up to about 12 weeks, so you might want to hold off investing in lovely bras (and I third hot milk being gorgeous! I also like Heidi Kluhm's range). I've not tried them, but I know a lot of people who absolutely love Molke, and the fit has a fair bit of flexibility at this stage (not technically breastfeeding bras, but soft so can push the cup aside easily, but very supportive).
None of my nice bras fit at the mo (4 weeks in) so I'm mostly living in some I got in Lidl a few months back in a much larger size than I normally need, and some soft Bravado ones I got for DC1, but have only ever used at night in the early leaky phase, so are just about still standing (I've been pregnant or breastfeeding for over 7 years straight at this point...)

Horehound · 21/10/2019 11:29

Immunisations done. He was pretty good really. Only cried at the jabs but stopped pretty much straight away and got a lot of cuddles. Then fell asleep in the waiting room where we had to go for ten mins and still asleep on our way home yay

RolyHappyNorrieTagBetty · 21/10/2019 12:30

Did anyone else have an issue around 4/5 weeks onwards with sleep crying? I have one very unsettled girl on my hands, she's generally quite a crier anyway and most of her awake time is crying but it's now in her sleep too- pretty much every nap and then the last sleep of the night (so anytime from 4/5am onwards).

Her eyes stay closed but she screams or cries out. Often stops after a few seconds or a minute (may need patting or stroking) then starts again a few minutes later. Eventually then wakes herself up from being so upset.

It's driving me loopy to be honest. I can barely do anything in the day because she's crying so much.

@Horehound excellent news on the jabs! Fingers crossed for a cuddly afternoon and good night to follow!

kyles101 · 21/10/2019 15:28

@RolyHappyNorrieTagBetty no experience I'm afraid, that sounds pretty intense. Could it be reflux or colic or something? I hope it gets resolved quickly for you both.

We went to a baby sensory class this afternoon... William was not impressed, I think it was right in the middle of what should have been a nap - I think I'm going to have to start taking note and implementing some kind of routine, he really was very angry on the way home, poor baby.

iano · 21/10/2019 16:48

@DustyDoorframes thank you! I was going to get a Molke one but they've not got any plain colours in my size at the moment. I'm struggling to find soft ones that are suitable for my size. They often just go up to DD so I'd have to increase the band size and lose support iykwim...
Hence investing in a more structured nursing bra a bit earlier than I'd like to.

Horehound · 21/10/2019 16:54

@RolyHappyNorrieTagBetty

No sorry don't really have experience of this really but I have seen Arthur start a cry then kind of wake up, move and sleep again. But I think it makes sense if she cries during the day then she will be dreaming of crying maybe? Oh I'm not very sure. Maybe speak to Dr to make sure there's not something hurting her?

Arthur had a bad screaming episode when he never usually cries during day. I guess he is feeling crappy and if took about 20 mins to even get him to some kind of level where he could breathe a bit better and not scream. Then I think Calpol kicked in but bloody hell..not seen him like that before. Poor sausage.

yevans · 21/10/2019 17:37

Needing a bit of advice/reassurance if anyone has any! Ruth is breastfed but the past few days has been crying and straining all the time when she's trying to poo. It's happening so much it's really getting to me, she just doesn't seem to calm down for anything even the boob where she will writhe around and punch me whilst straining still. She's having very normal dirty nappies, a couple a day so I know she isn't constipated.

I've read that it might just be her body getting used to the sensation of pooing but they said it would calm down by around 3 months. That's still two months away and I'm not sure I can cope with this level of unsettled for another two months!!

Anyone else had anything similar?

Puglover88 · 21/10/2019 17:47

@yevans Sophie does this, along with a few other things that make me think she’s got silent reflux. I’ve bought some baby probiotic sachets to add to expressed milk that can help improve a baby’s gut health, they’re suitable from birth - my friend used them on her LO and saw huge improvements.

Horehound · 21/10/2019 17:48

@yevans yep..get some infacol. Game changer
How old is ruth again?

yevans · 21/10/2019 17:56

@Horehound think I'll give it a go even just to feel like I'm doing something to help her! She will be four weeks on Wednesday

Horehound · 21/10/2019 18:13

@yevans yes think that was around the time Arthur started needing some assistance!
It worked straight away for him but it can take around 4 days to get to full effect I think..you can increase from one dropper to 2 as well after a while of using it.
Don't do what I did and mistake the fact that they poop easily for the fact it's been resolved..I stopped infacol then had 2 days of an upset baby struggling to poop again! Using it 4 weeks on..

RolyHappyNorrieTagBetty · 21/10/2019 19:30

@Puglover88 would you mind sharing the brand of probiotics you got? I will definitely give this a try.

@yevans we're at a similar stage to you (just over 4 weeks currently) and infacol has helped with wind/crying/colic. It did seem to make her silent reflux worse is the only thing so just something to look out for in case that starts!

kyles101 · 21/10/2019 20:52

DS appears to have reached a stage where he has decided he doesn't need to open his mouth when he pulls away From my nipple to have a nosey round. Ouchie. He also makes tense little fists when he's frustrated.:. For example if I take more than 2 seconds to get a nipple in his mouth when he's decided it's time!!

cinderfeckinrella · 22/10/2019 00:59

Thanks @Roly no debrief, my doctor at 6 week check was amazing though, loved her. I think I just felt a bit 'what happened there' for a few days as I had been given a growth scan and told maybe 9lb ish. My midwife tried to book me in for induction at 40 +10 but hospital refused. I imagined the induction process to be a calmer, more pumped full of pain relief process but reality was not, so just felt cheated out of my gas and air time mostly. Any better with the sleep crying? That sounds hard going, think that would drive me loopy too.

@kyles101 Yes! I didn't think breastfed babies could get constipation either, maybe she doesn't but is exactly same as @Dyra she's gone from poo every change to one a week. Lot easier for changing I suppose. Might go back to infacol. I only used a few days but maybe stopping it has been the problem.
Ouch on the nipple pulling, DD also clenches fists and bashes the boob when feeding after initial let down slows Grindiva.

Thanks @Myspiritan I'll definitely give the baths/massage/bicycle legs a go. Youtube is amazing, it has everything on there doesn't it!

Also never heard of any of these nursing bra ranges, alternating between two of the ugliest m and s bras and boo hoo ones with not much support

DustyDoorframes · 22/10/2019 01:35

Well, I'm definitely not going to visit MIL this week - currently in hospital waiting for a bed on the ward for DC3 whose cold has given her bronchiolitis. All very routine, but she's on oxygen and a feeding tube which is not how we were planning to spend the evening...

kyles101 · 22/10/2019 01:45

Oh no dusty. Hope little one gets better soon.

Stroan · 22/10/2019 02:53

Oh @DustyDoorframes bronchiolitis is horrible, hope she is much better soon. Poor little love. And hope it's not too hard on you too.

IVEgottheDECAF · 22/10/2019 07:28

Oh no dusty! Poor little thing! Hope she is on the mend soon Flowers

Dyra · 22/10/2019 09:02

Oh no Dusty. 😧 Hope DD recovers quickly and you're both none the worse from this ordeal.

Stroan · 22/10/2019 09:33

I know BF babies can't get constipated but I would really like it if mine would stop storing it up for three days. He filled his sleepsuit leg AND got it as far up as his shoulders this morning. We were about to leave for the nursery run and I had to put him in the bath. I tried to get the 3yo to clean it up, but she declined.

He used to be a 2-3 times a day boy but has been like this since vaccinations 😭

IVEgottheDECAF · 22/10/2019 09:35

stroan that is impressive, maybe he fancies making it into the Guinness book of world records?

Well I got 4 full come of me today not sure if that's related to his jabs. Both of us absolutely covered so full changes for us both. I'll need to bath him I just can't face it yet

He also hasnt poos as much as normal so guess that's jab related too. I shall await a poo filled baby gro then lol
