Hi, Glad to hear about your time off suis. One tip though (and I should take my own advice) is to arrange lots of little trips out alone like this and not to treat DH as though he is doing you a favour - after all baby suis is his child too. I didn't think too much like this with ds but now get annoyed that dh never thinks twice about arranging things as he assumes I will be looking after the children whereas I never arrange anything cos i also assume that I will be looking after them and have to come up with complicated arrangements!
Shattered today since DS woke up again last night - very unusual for him but is happenning about twice a week over the last month. Don't want a habit forming but is so hard to know what to do. Leaving him to cry I am worried he will wake dd and then I will be coping with 2 inconsolable dc! So I go in then he doesn't want to let me go and I end up being awake for ages.
Some perspective gained from misdees threads and am so pleased it seems to be going well for them.

Hi all, bit quiet yesterday on here DD and me went with some of our NCT friends to brighton for the day DD had a lovely healthy lunch of sweet potatos and carrots I ate a loevley healthy lunch of fish and chips followed by an ice cream!

I'm going to email people later about the meetup

Bienchen · 17/08/2007 20:07

Hi all, sorry I have not posted for a while. It's amazing how LO's are coming along now.

If anyone is still interested in a Midlands meet up - can you post here or CAT me, pls?

Baby crying, off for now...

forgottenfreetime · 18/08/2007 07:36

I'll be interested in a meet up Bienchen.
Have started weaning here for the past few days. DD seems to like it. I've given her an assortment of steamed apple slices, bread fingers and some purees - banana porridge and sweet potato seems to be her favorites! Seperately that is! Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Bienchen · 18/08/2007 08:01

FFT - great! Early riser too?

Any more takers?

We are off swimming today as DP is working. There is a travel cot usually available so when LO gets too tired, she can have her nap there. Was also planning to do a car boot tomorrow to shift some of her baby clothes and make generally room in the house but not sure as forecast wet!

Have a good weekend

MoosMa · 18/08/2007 13:37

Bienchen don't forget my site for selling stuff

Bienchen · 18/08/2007 14:22

Moosma - I could! had forgotten about it. Can you remind me of details of the website pls and sorry to everyone else for hijacking the thread!

On another note: does anyone know if I can buy replacement bits for pushchair handles? The foam overs have gone on one side and I'd like to replace them.

MoosMa · 18/08/2007 15:13

It's here.

I think you can get them for some makes of pushchair, what have you got? I email companies asking if I can buy things like that and often they send me things free! I've had parts for a Brita water jug and for a breast pump before so there's no harm in asking.

Bienchen · 18/08/2007 16:13

Thanks Moosma. It is a Cosatto and I've just looked up the phone number for their customer support. Another job for next week!

I'll check out your website over the weekend.

Sallyallyally · 19/08/2007 20:13

And me for the midlands meet xx

Bienchen · 20/08/2007 12:18

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Weaning going well here and I can get hold of the replacement foam handles through a local pram shop but Cosatto are out of stock so it is a 6-8 week wait and will cost us £6.99 ...

Oh great Sallyallyally. Can you remind me whereabouts you live as well. Ta!

Feb 07 Midlands meet up: I'll give it another few days to see whether a few more of us are around and interested and then maybe we move over to email to discuss dates and venues rather than hijack the thread...

Sallyallyally · 20/08/2007 14:55

I'm in sunny Coventry. Home of Cathedrals, naked ladies on horseback (Godiva...not an eccentric relative) and a lovely little airport where you can fly to Italy everso cheaply!

MoosMa · 20/08/2007 19:38

Went to see the HV today and got T weighed, she's now 17lbs which keeps her just above the 50th . She's had some banana, papaya and sweet potato pureed and mixed with rice and milk and is kind of getting the hang of eating off a spoon although it's very messy and comes with a lot of squelching and slurping!

Had E weighed at the same tome and she's only 7lbs heavier at 23.5 months! She is a tiny thing with a big fat lump of a sister who is rapidly catching her up. T started wearing age 9-12 month trousers today and E has gone back into 12-18 month ones as she's out of nappies (hooray!), they'll be sharing clothes soon!

If the midlands meet up ends up being south of Birmingham I might pop along too if that's alright as it's just a whizz up the M5.

Alocin · 20/08/2007 20:53

hello all

DS continues to thrive, loving food (had some of my chickpea and leek soup today and gulped it down!)

Bienchen - I'm near Huntingdon.

Gotta go and put little one to bed, hes face down on the bed next to me, snoring!

peachygirl · 20/08/2007 21:36

Hi all, I haven't heard from some ladies about the meet up I hope everything is OK. I checked out Waterloo on sunday and if it's possible to meet there, there were a couple of good central points.
I'll email again

I've finally updated my profile and there is a picture of me on there for the purpose of the meet up so you know what I look like!

marmitemad · 20/08/2007 22:05

Hi Peachygirl,
Have just sent you an email about the meet up. Great pictures, dd looks very cute in the pink dungarees.

We have just discovered rice cakes although their main use is so dd can feed herself my lovingly prepared purees as she hates the spoons.

Moosma - How are you getting on with the liquid Amitriptyline? I got really desperate for a complete nights sleep last week and tried taking a tablet but although I slept well I just felt so hideous in the morning I don't think it was worth it. Glad the potty training is going well .

peachygirl · 20/08/2007 22:07

Thats great Marmite I'm really looking forward to it.

forgottenfreetime · 20/08/2007 22:15

What about Hatton Country World near Warwick for the Mid meet up. Plenty to entertain the kids and a coffee bar for us?

Has anyone been following the 'odd' threads on MN recently? I've only just discovered active convos (I'm a bit slow with technology ) and have been suprised how heated some of these threads get!

peachygirl · 20/08/2007 22:16

Do you mean like the mumsnet clique one thats running at the moment??
I look and then usually avoid them

yelnats · 20/08/2007 22:36

Moosma - glad the potty training is going so well.

DD1 and DD2 are already sharing clothes - dd1 is 40 months and dd2 id 6 months! THey both had dd2's leggings on the other day - age 3-6 months! Last weigh in - dd1 - 25lbs and dd2 - 16lb 3.5oz.

suis · 20/08/2007 23:49

FFT/Peachy - I managed to get caught up in some of these threads by attempting to calm down a situation and getting caught in cross fire. I find it a bit disappointing that people can get really rather nasty sometimes over things that are usually just a difference of viewpoint. I think it's like road rage... because people are effectively anonymous, as they are in cars, then sometimes people behave in ways they never would if faced with speaking to a person in RL.

DP thinks it's a hoot might you... he wouldn't believe me that someone was told to "fuck off you cock head" during a discussion about breastfeeding. He's now reading bits of Mumsnet just to marvel at the fights.

forgottenfreetime · 21/08/2007 00:03

Wow suis, that's quite some anger isn't it? I think you're right - the anonymity fuels the outrageous remarks, but also I'm suprised that people can be quite so catty when they are posting on a thread that someone else has started. I mean if you don't see things this way why bother getting stressed, you don't actually know these people, it's not personal! Must be me!

suis · 21/08/2007 00:26

Well exactly... why bother going on a thread to just say you think it's irrelevant ? Or to just start laying into people because they don't have the same opinion. You don't have to read a particular thread or take part in it if you don't want to. I saw a post on one discussion which said "lets just all ignore (the OP) and go off and do something else"... why bother posting then ?????

It is quite sad that this sort of thing happens, esp as in some areas (bf vs ff in particular) people seem to be getting afraid to post their questions and points of view for fear of getting involved in nasty spats.
