I wimped out and put Finn back in our room
Happy again
Rather see him awake and smiling at 5-6am then have him down the hall...

DP made more of an effort to keep things dark and quiet this morning so was much less disruptive.

Ronnie does look FAB Kitty - didn't he just grow up suddenly!

Finn also went up on all fours yesterday, gave me shock of my life - dp was watching him and said oh he is trying to crawl, I came in laughing and said don't be stupid he is just trying to roll - which may have ben true but whichever way he was on hands and knees for nearly a minute, he is rolling now quite easily, but totally prefers being on his tummy at any time....
He is not yet 5 mths FGS.

Think we're struggling to hold out til 26 wks (21 this wk) Finn bellows at you when he sees you eating and bounces up and down. I have been giving him licks of my cereal and toast and fruit and he has loved everything - not sure about crossing totally to solids but will try this as long as poss - he si sleeping fine so not hungry per se. just very keen...

He only wakes once in the night for a feed now, goes about 5 hrs regularly so 7-10.30 then till 3.30 then til 7-8am

Lucky I think he is such an easy baby....

Well dps job is not working out as planned for me.

Am not happy to be sold the idea with

The commute will be fine
We get great flex options to work half day friday and every 4th friday off.

Work day is 8.30-4.30 so will be home by 6 ish every day..

Ha effing ha

so not...

home after 8 4 out of 5 days and the half day he got home at 6

And then of course was totally shattered all weekend, no help with the kids and we rowed which we never do.

I am in quite a serious I'm not sure how much I love him bind atm.... enough to move nearer to Luton... Take ds out of secondary just before GCSE choices and move dd (some SN) from her gorgeous tiny mainstream school 5 mths after she starts - she who hates change...

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Piffle · 14/08/2007 10:16

keriky that is long
sorry

Mossy · 14/08/2007 10:22

Oh Piffle sorry things aren't working out so great with your dp's job.

Is there any room for compromise at all? E.g. could he do any of the work from home one day a week? Could he stay in Luton a few days a week and work longer hours, and then the other days be nearer you and the dc's and work fewer hours?

Piffle · 14/08/2007 10:39

I think we both know that he will have to stay over at least one night - prob the thursday as it is silly to make that trip for a half day on friday (alleged half day I mean )

No ability to work from home as they do not allocate laptops so were screwed that way.

I love my kids to death, don't mind doing it on my own, but when he is here it's all me me me how tired he is.
I know he is tired, we're all tired - I'm too tired to have sex for instance - he sure ain't Finn got up last night from 8-9.30 just because sometimes he does....
He was smiling, talking glorious rollikng and everything and dp was glued to the tv.
I was silently livid and am still simmering

oh I should prob start a new thread rather than rant on here I guess but the thought of focussing on it properly

kittywits · 14/08/2007 11:58

Piffle, sorry things aren't woeking out with your dp's commute . Hopefully you'll be able to find a solution.

Get you all and your trying to crawl babies!!!! Ronnie hates being on his tummy, he also hates being on his back .
I remember thinking dd3 would be a very late mover as she was slow sitting up and crawling then blow me but she gets up and walks at 9 months!

Mossy great you had a fab time with your mates ( I only have cyber mates now ).

Dp is off to a really, really posh party tonight, loads of celebs will be there, black tie do and everything. I can't go as laughing boy is still so unpredictable slepp and feed-wise.

I'm very though

Bet the champers will be running in rivers, actually it's just as well, I have no self control when it comes to cheese, crisps and alcohol

Diva an ape{grin}? cool, where's the thread?

Kiwi, that's a bummer about the credit

Lunar, I can just picture what a funny sight it must be to see Toby trying to crawl!!

Right dd2 is 'attacking' Ronnie best go

OP posts:
foxcub · 14/08/2007 12:46

Hi everyone - wow what a lot of interesting news!!

Kitty love the pics of Ronnie

Lunar - Monti is at that stage too but is 4 weeks older!! constantly trying to either grab the Dcs food or trying to crawl and getting trapped in wierd places

Diva - your post made me laugh!

Totally agree BTW about Peads - think they should have their goolies chopped of actually. And people who toture their kids should have their hands chopped off... but then I am a bit too liberal sometimes!

oopps Monti is calling me for yet another feed...

TheBlonde · 14/08/2007 12:51

Just a quick hello

Bit of a shambles here today, noone is dressed yet, tons of laundry to do and need to go to the shops but it is raining heavily

Mossy - how do I tell which Ruth Moss you are on facebook?

divastrop · 14/08/2007 13:12

kitty-here

its making me feel sick now so i think ill just avoid it

dp and i went to see the child psyc this morning re ds1.i was quite as i ended up crying and saying its all my fault he has problems.he was very nice though and said that i'd done my best in difficult circumstances, and that there is help available to learn to deal with it.

2 hours till they return

piffle-you are finding things difficult.im sure theres a way you can get round it?does your dp think you should move there?is he quite understanding about the schooling situation?

bella-i havent heard about the dress.time is ticking on so im thinking of getting an alternative, but similar one here.the ribbon at the front means it can be adjusted.

hello to everyone else

Mossy · 14/08/2007 13:40

Diva love the alternative dress!!

The Blonde I am the one with a photo of me and Bertie in dressing gowns. In "Manchester". I hasten to add I am not from Manchester but they don't have a "Liverpool" group.

Piffle rant away although I'm not much use on the relationship advice front as you know!! I hope you manage to get things sorted, does he really love his new job?

Kitty mmmm... champers... I could go for a few glasses of that right now! Well, maybe not right now, I've a driving lesson shortly. Later on!!

Foxy Bertie puts everything in his mouth but isn't at the stage of grabbing food yet... so hopefully we can hold out for a bit longer. A rl friend of mine has been giving her ds solids for a bit now and the face he pulls when he's doing a poo is scary... and his poos are... well... solid!

Sorry if that's a bit tmi! I was just profoundly shocked! I thought all baby poo was runny, like, forever!

foxcub · 14/08/2007 14:21

Mossy - yes the poos are a bit of a shock. DH calls them "proper poos", as though Monti has graduated or something! Monti also looks as though he is in pain for about an hour before each "proper poo" - so he's still getting used to passing hard matter, poor wee thing.

Diva - I just love those dresses - they are so romantic. I'm like you - two sizes bigger up top, due to mammoth boobs and wide shoulders. I find it virtually impossible to find dresses I don't look ridiculous in.

I think that dress will really suit you

Can't wait until the virual hen night.

Piff- that crap about the commuting isn't it? Can he ask for flexi hours now as he has a child under 6? He's probably extra tired too from starting a new job as well as the travelling. There must be a solution musn't there?

foxcub · 14/08/2007 14:22

ooops

muppethasakitten · 14/08/2007 14:27

Mossy... just think... a whole world of differing baby poo awaits you

piff - to hear about your dh's job not working as you'd hoped. Perhaps it will improve once he's settled in. On top of the long commute it's always exhausting starting out somewhere new isn't it? Maybe he'll be able to get away more once he's made a good impression!

kitty - where oh where is your dh going to and which slebs will he be rubbing shoulders with???????? come on - tell all - I am sadly lacking in exciting social possibilities so must grab any interest elsewhere!!!

diva - i think both those dresses would look fab on you. You've prolly said this b4 but do you know what your dp will be wearing?

foxy and diva I have to say i'm in your camp too...

kittywits · 14/08/2007 20:41

Aghhh dd1 and dd2 have had a "vidal sasoon moment". aghhhhh, disaster. I've had to chop off all of dd1's beautiful long dark brown locks.

Why do they bloody do it?

OP posts:
evenhope · 14/08/2007 21:10

oh kitty. What did they do?

(only DS3 ever did this and ended up with a hole in his fringe)

divastrop · 14/08/2007 21:17

kitty-did they do each others hair or their own?i remember having to take dd1 to the hairdressers when she cut her own fringe when she was 4.it was about an inch long, and they had to do some creative stuff to cover it.

am rather re the dress thing.got an email back from them and it said i would need a size 16 as a 14 would be too small around the bust.well, der,i told them i'd tried a 16 on and it was too big around the bottom.and according to their size charts,i would need a 12 bottom half and a 14 top half.freaks.

anyway,i just had a diva-strop at my mother 'i am not getting married in anything bigger than a size 12,i'm buying a size 12 even if it means i have to starve myself for the next two months'

kiwibella · 14/08/2007 21:23

evenhope... not eligible for working tax credit because of some immigration bullshit. I'm on a visa, have a national insurance number, worked here for four years, my grandmother is English, I'm from a commonwealth country. It sucks big time cause I could so put it towards Kate's nursery fees.

Both hubs and I will get childcare vouchers tho... and hubs should be ok since he is on a higher tax rate and he pays £9 for £10 value.

kiwibella · 14/08/2007 21:24

phew... what an awful rant - I'll read the rest of the threads properly now .

kiwibella · 14/08/2007 21:27

Kitty... I would have come and suffered through an evening of Ronnie so you could go to that party!! Will we see your hubs in the tabloids tomorrow

TheBlonde · 14/08/2007 21:30

kiwibella - sounds dubious to me, I thought you just had to live in the UK
Can you appeal against their decision?

kiwibella · 14/08/2007 21:32

hehehe... hair cutting moments!! When MissE was 4 she cut one of her golden ringlets for her kindergarten teacher... she hated them and her teacher had told her how much she liked them and wished that she could have one. Oh, her embarrasment when I went in with one

ooooooooo... I am also v excited about Diva's hen night. What shall we do???

kiwibella · 14/08/2007 21:33

Blonde... I haven't actually applied, just been advised over the phone. I'm thinking about applying anyways. I can get the child tax credit one for Kate because she was born here (it's like £18 a week).

TheBlonde · 14/08/2007 21:35

Definitely go ahead and claim, I wouldn't trust them to get it right over the phone

kittywits · 14/08/2007 22:11

Yes they did some mutual hair cutting. I've has to do my best with my hair scissors. What gets into them that they think it is a good idea?
Yeah I know it will grow, but a splash in the ocean etc.

Diva, don't starve yourself and make yourself ill, you won't be able to enjoy your wedding night

I'm sure dp is having a great time now. He looked very dapper. I wish he would wear smarter clothes more often. Of course Ronnie has slept fine tonight

Kiwi, if it's just some stupid jobsworth 'advising' on the phone then you should def apply, they don't know what they're talking about half the time, just say what is easiest.
Sweet story about the ringlets
