I posted on kittys thread, maybe we can get a mini group going!

I do swings and this workout here
killer

kittywits · 13/08/2007 12:15

Piffle, I also saw another dvd advertised that was really rated (not that I know the first thing about what is good or rubbish). It was called kettlebell goddess
Please let me know where I can get them cheaply. I guess you and I are about the same size? what size bell do you think? 8kg?
I'm very excited about it. It will save tonnes of money and I think will get me fitter than the gym and I can fit it in when I can

DD is 5 months today how did that happen?

She has suddenly started demanding to be taken up to bed at 10pm where she rolls around laughing with her legs in the air until after midnight. It is bizarre. In bed she can roll from back to front so I'm worried she'll get her face pressed up against the pillows. Got fed up with it and put her in her cot only to be woken up an hour later with her stuck across the cot with her legs through the bars on one side and her head wedged under her winnie the pooh light projector on the other. Completely stuck and screaming.

Feeding during those two hours involves a lot of lunging, with head and knees being brought forward and bum stuck out- not a good position because then she ends up with boob over her nose. As I'm trying to position her she is fighting me to position herself. Anyone else getting this?

evenhope · 13/08/2007 13:28

Oh I remember what I'd intended to post! Saw not one but two shoplifters at Mothercare yesterday . Two of the staff ran after the first one, leaving the way clear for the second to stroll out. They caught him but couldn't hold onto him, but got his bag which contained dirty needles. As we were leaving the carpark the police were leading the second man back towards the shop. Twas quite exciting! (except the queue was enormous because all the staff were otherwise occupied leaving one woman on the till )

Couldn't see what you could pinch from mothercare that was small enough to lift but you'd get enough money from selling on? Think I'd have grabbed a pushchair

evenhope · 13/08/2007 13:31

foxy I had g pigs at your DSs age. They can be a bit delicate if handled roughly but don't take that much looking after. They need to be let out into a run regularly, covered up at night and when it's cold. Our last lot all caught a parasite so I won't have them again but they are quite rewarding because they'll come and wait by the door at foodtime and trill. So sweet.

AmieR · 13/08/2007 14:15

everytime we've been to our mothercare lately we've seen shop lifters! they were stuffing blanket bails on their jumpers, on all occasions!

Fox and piffle - i'm better now, I just had a womanly crisis, and thought I was no longer in love with DH and he was driving me nuts, but we worked through it, thus far and seem to be getting back on track.

Joseph will be 6 months old on wednesday, last time we had him weighed about a month ago he'd hit the 14lb mark, and now fits in to 3-6 n months clothes well! He rolls over now and tries to pull himself up and is slowly getting a taste for his solids, but he can be very awkward, being a mum really has improved my patience levels!

AmieR · 13/08/2007 14:19

have posted an up to date picture to my profile.

Piffle · 13/08/2007 14:27

Amie Joseph looks fab!

We had to move Finn into his own room today - am totally gutted but with dp getting up at 5.45 he is waking Finn up and I am shattered.

I would rather send dp to the other room as it now means me having to get out bed to feed

He has not pooed for 3 days it will be one hell of a nappy when it turns up...

kiwibella · 13/08/2007 15:40

well, there you go... I had never heard of a kettle ball before now!! Glad it's working for you Piffle.

Welcome back Amie... hope that you are enjoying rekindling things with your dh. Off to check out your piccie .

I don't do pets. For a few years (a few years back) my sister gave MissE a different pet for her birthday. It's always the parents who end up looking after them.

Wait... she does have a goldfish. Although she does feed it regularly, hubs always cleans the tank when he's fed up with it.

kiwibella · 13/08/2007 15:41

how is the commute working out Piffle? Is hubs enjoying his new position as much as you thought he would??

kiwibella · 13/08/2007 15:41

what a totally presh grin Amie!!

DollyPopsOut · 13/08/2007 16:50

Amie, he is lovely - what a happy boy !

Piffle, sorry you are up in the night now and out of bed in a different room. So much easier when you can roll over and just whip a boob out. DD2 taken to waking at 5 for a quick snuzzle but we both go back to sleep.

Am TOTALLY with kitty on the pets. Regret an animal lover I am not - except cats. All the little guinea pigs, mice, hamsters etc turn my stomach as they are too small and rodenty. If we ever have a pet, then it'll have to be a cat as they are the right sort of size.

Am deeply impressed by fitness antics. Am still walking miles with the huge buggy but that's about it. But I can't eat at the moment as I have a viral infection and gum problems. I had to go to the dentist this morning which is awful as I am phobic. I was in tears making the appointment but in so much pain that no choice. THought I had an abscess under my bridgework but turns out just to be severe gum inflammation. I have medicine so will mend soonish. He said I would feel crap for about a week though. Bloody hell - had such a nice day planned meeting up with a lovely friend as well. Grrrrrr!

Has Spongecake got married yet? I thought beginning of August? And Diva, when is your date and when is the "virtual"hen night? What do you want us to wear? Shall we have a theme? Much looking forward to it.

How are you doing Mossy? And how is DH?

Foxy, can't help with your expressing problems I am afraid. I only work 2 days a week and thought that I would just pump when I got home. Appreciate that that's not viable though if your work is for more days. When exactly are you going back?

Bella hope you had a great time in Cheddar. I love it round there.

Hello everyone else , hope you are all doing well.

divastrop · 13/08/2007 17:29

hi all

amie-nice to have you back

dolly-i think sponge was getting wed on the 10th.mine is october 20th.i think the thursday before would be best for the virtual hen night as i will be busy strapping dp to his chair the night before the wedding

bella-yes,mossy brought her dress.i tried it on in the next fitting rooms lol.it is lovely but i forgot that i am always 2 sizes bigger on the top half than the bottom and thats why i never wear dresses.ive emailed the company that makes them and am waiting for them to get back to me with a quote for a made-to-measure version.

i thought kettle balls were something you put in your kettle to get rid of limescale [blonde]

elsie has been doing her scream for 2 hours or so every evening again.she is also doing green poos(sorry tmi)which i have read can be a sign of over feeding,so im trying giving her less milk and more food as she was having about 35oz a day.she is loving her food now,and even ate some baby rice earlier

ah well, the holiday is over for me as ds and dd1 are back tomorrow.ds and dd2 have taken to fighting now so im going to have it in stereo.i would say ive missed them but it only feels like theyve been away about 2 days.

muppethasakitten · 13/08/2007 17:39

dear god i've got a lot of posts to read to catch up...

LunarSea · 13/08/2007 19:18

diva - I wish I could be 2 sizes bigger on top than on the bottom rather than the other way round (I'm the archetyypal pear shape - though when I'm fit, which I'm definately not at the moment top and hips are the same size, and waist is 2 sizes smaller, which is even worse trying to get clothes to fit!)

Good to see you back Amie - I'm still up for a coffee in Warwick or Leam some time if you like.

Well I've given in to the inevitable and accepted that we won't get to 6 months before starting weaning. Toby has been grabbing hold of any plate within reach for several weeks now, and helping himself to anythin he can get hold of/dip his fingers into, so as he's almost accidentally tried so many different things already I guess we might as well introduce a little bit of food to keep his frustration in check.

Talking of frustration he's getting very annoyed with himself because he can't quite work out the correct order to move his limbs when he's trying to crawl. He can spend quite a long time up on all fours now, and he's sussed out moving his legs, but he hasn't quite cottoned on thar he has to move his arms forwards too - so he keeps ending up on his nose when his legs get too close to his arms and he overbalances! He is definately moving around the room now though, albeit slowly and punctuated with lots of accompanying sound effects as he vents his frustration at the frequent nosedives.

muppethasakitten · 13/08/2007 21:38

looks like you had a good time diva and mossy! Well done for meeting up! lol at the hairy bikers

glad the wedding went well rosy - sounds like you had a good time - lots of driving though. how's your dh?

speaking of lots of driving - northumberland is a BLOODY long away from the south east isn't it?? Forgot just how long it takes... especially when there are accidents and roadworks. Not to be repeated until Samuel is old enough to be more easily amused methinks.

still we had a lovely time and played on lovely quiet sandy beaches.... and yes rosy - we DID go to Hogwarts! (Harry wasn't there though cos now he's all grown-up with children of his own!)

hope shanks and jay are feeling ok

sorry about your mastitis kitty it's blardy horrid isn't it? Good job you didn't muck about but went to get some abs.

mossy - have posted on your thread. your dh does make me i'm afraid.

Lunar - Samuel is doing that - he has a bruise on his nose where he collapsed on the floorboards

muppethasakitten · 13/08/2007 21:39

I have used every emoticon in my post except envy. I'm so of people who manage to use them all.

i have just been compared to an ape bacause i commented that paedos shouldnt get therapy they should be locked up for good

kiwibella · 14/08/2007 09:14

Ronnie is utterly lubberly!!! He suddenly has the brightest eyes when his hoodie is up. Gorgeous.

Kitty... you are tiny .

Hope that the wedding dress works out in your size Diva.

Thursday 18 October is marked on my calendar for our hens' night!!! yay yay

I'm tempted to crash the wedding too

Glad that you had a lovely holiday Muppet... travelling with lil 'uns is hard work, isn't it.

Crawling Lunar . I think we are safe - Kate doesn't enjoy being on her belly so it will take her some time to figure this out.

kiwibella · 14/08/2007 09:18

and... I'm a bit peeved - trying to figure out how we are going to pay Kate's monthly childcare and have just learned that I am not eligible for Working Tax Credit. I know I shouldn't complain because I am not actually English (only by descent) but... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. That money would cover half of the fees!!!

Mossy · 14/08/2007 10:01

Hello all,

Sorry... I've been busy the last few days! Went to see my bezzie in Birmingham at weekend and had a lovely time, went to a friend's house yesterday for dinner, lovely, it's like I'm getting a social life again!

Kitty, Ronnie is adorable in his little hoodie, he is so cute I bet it almost makes up for him being "lauging boy"!

Diva I thought the same about kettle balls! I get all my exercise from walking everywhere with Bertie in his sling. I should probably do some work on my tummy but I really can't be bothered tbh!

Lunar, wow, Toby is crawling! He is a clever little chappie isn't he? Bertie just cries when I put him on his front. I think he'll be a bum shuffler!!

Dolly sorry you aren't feeling so good, your poor gums.

I'm not a huge fan of mini-pets, I much prefer good solid cats and dogs. They require far less cleaning imo!!

Foxy I can't help with the pumping thing but I'll be watching your thread with interest as I'll need some tips for when I return to work eventually.

Muppet thanks for the thread post, dh is ... oh I don't know. It really is like being with Jekyll and Hyde and you just don't know what he's going to be like on any given day. Will post on there if Bertie gives me chance!!

Amie can't believe Joseph is six months!!!

Piffle, what a pita having to move Finn to his own room! How often does he wake to feed, now?

Evenhope Bertie fights at the breast sometimes like he's trying to reposition himself. I think my let down is quite slow though and he gets frustrated, so I hand express a little first if he's in one of these moods. Not sure if that's the same thing!

Hello to anyone I've missed!

I have a confession to make btw. I have joined Facebook too. Any of you on facebook go have a look for Ruth Moss... I promise I won't disappear from here though!!!

evenhope · 14/08/2007 10:14

kiwi why are you not eligible for working tax credit? (just a bit worried because we're counting on it for nursery fees too). Does your work do childcare vouchers?

kitty your profile still says you've got 5 children! Lovely pics.

mossy I think it's more than repositioning. She did it again last night and when I told her I'd had enough of it, sat up and sat her up she gave an enormous burp. Fed her after that sitting up in bed and she was fine and went straight to sleep. Clearly she's still suffering from an excess of wind.

Crawling Lunar? I don't think we've had enough tummy time. Mine can move along on her back but isn't keen on being on her front and ends up sucking her fists/arms instead. My DS2 crawled at 4 months and was pulling himself up at 5 months so I'm happy not to repeat that!
