Oh Diva, you have joined the dark side too. ... you're Facebook mad, you lot! I must admit you are piquing my curiosity a bit, but as I said before, I joined on my other email account so I'm buggered for using it until next year when work drags me back.
Hello all, back once again from my travels. Had a fantastic time in France, the weather was beautiful and I didn't want to come home . We did a house exchange but it was the other people's second home that they rent out as a gite, so they haven't come to us yet - we'll have to move in with my mum for a week, or alternatively DP might house sit for a friend who lives up the road. The only downside to the free nature of the holiday is that they were supposed to be coming in three weeks, but she emailed to ask if they could come on Saturday instead, so now means frantic house cleaning, cupboards and all, because unlike usual visitors to the house, they will actually see all the dark places of the house (and some are very dark from all the dirt!). We've yet to get a definite reply from them that they are coming sooner, though, so there is hope they'll change their minds again.
Piffle, I have that problem with Jordi too. It's a nightmare trying to get him into sleeves, which he hates anyway, when he's got his thumb surgically attached to his mouth.
On the weaning front, our routine is roughly
7am (if I can get him to sleep that long), up and bottle.
10am or later if he's woken later, some veg puree/mash, maybe bit of natural yoghurt too, bit of milk - i'm having no luck getting him to drink water yet.
1 (or three hours after last feed) - bottle
4, ditto, another veg/fruit puree or jar, plus milk
7-8, bottle to go to bed on.
I'm going to start giving him breakfast soon and swap the 10ish feed for a bottle, and give him lunch at lunchtime. I have tried giving him some banana just as a piece of fruit, and he's munched that down, and I gave him some pieces of cooked carrot, but just panicked when he bit off a big bit and took the rest away! I have to hold stuff like that to his mouth because he doesn't have the ability to consistently do it himself, I don't think. The whole giving him real solids does worry me because I am absolutely paranoid about him choking. Any tips to help me not worry gratefully appreciated!
