BTW my periods returned when I reduced BF - i.e. when weaning reduces BFing.

In Monti's case this may never happen, as he still feeds 9/10 times every 24 hours (proper feeds, not just sleepy nibbles).

Big baby syndrome methinks - where tiny babies/big babies feed far more than average sized babies.

sazzybee · 09/09/2007 22:37

This is a bit of a thick question and I'm too embarrassed to post on proper boards but he's just done a poo. Should I cart the changing stuff into the bedroom to minimise disturbance? Feed him after? Leave him till morning? He just hasn't had a nighttime poo since he was about 6 weeks old and I can't remember what to do!

kitty - mooncups are silicon cup things you put in your fanjo. www.mooncup.co.uk

sazzybee · 09/09/2007 22:38

sorry meant fox re mooncup. And thanks for info!

kittywits · 09/09/2007 22:49

Sazzy, you need to change him or it'll burn his bum
lentil weaver moi? No. no. no.
F*ck me but I'm SO VERY very tired atm

Rosylily · 10/09/2007 07:38

Mossy Nah I just get pmt every month but no periods. Yesterday Hasan took 3 little spoonfuls of lentil soup so that's where we are in the weaning! I expect to see my period again when Hasan is at 10 months.

Mooncup sound really funny things. I wouldn't mind having a go though.

Sazzy, Brilliant, what a woman have a great mountain scramble! My Dad and my youngest sister are really into climbing mountains. I would love to be but too many kids.....

Yeah that is ridiculous about the banned breastfeeding pics on facebook, daft. [good ole mumsnet]

Foxy..good luck with the meeting! Hope you get your way totally!

Kitty I'm a bit knackered too, hopefully things will settle down for you this week.

Things won't be settling down for me...dh is coming up and we need to 'talk'

Mossy · 10/09/2007 09:13

Diva I joined the petition to stop facebook reporting bf photos. Will send a link to y'all.

My foamy norks are still on there, and I might deliberately do a topless photo with nork-based baby just to piss 'em off lol!

Actually maybe not they're a bit droopy.

Kitty I always had you down as a bit of a lentil weaver, just more like lentils out of a tin rather than the ones you have to soak yourself.

Foxy I'll send my mag to you tomorrow (need to go to PO to buy stamps first). I don't know what happened to the first one. Don't worry about sending it me back, I'll be able to nab another one. If the first one does arrive just pass it on to someone who can make use of it.

Sazzy get you with the mountain climbing! The most exercise I get atm is climbing the slope up to the Spar! It's a bit like a mountain though if Bertie's in his sling...

Rosy get yerself a mooncup they're all right (and save a fortune) as long as you're not squeemish. (Squeamish?) If you are though, probably best stick with the tampons.

Good luck with the "chat" let us know how it goes.

Will have to have a look at that smoking thread.

muppethasakitten · 10/09/2007 09:14

Diva so sorry for ignoring your request! I AM your friend ... will try and find you and mossy and rosy... where is this march07 group... i'm so pants on it I don't know how to find people

muppethasakitten · 10/09/2007 09:21

Piffle, Mossy and Kitty - sent you a friend request...

... diva - cant add you as no options to do so come up next to your profile...

where are you rosy?

Jaysthird · 10/09/2007 09:46

Morning all, hows things. I am marvelling at the sheer dexterity of some of you with regards posting on here AND Facebook, where oh where do you find the time? I have enough time to read my updates on Facebook, play a move on scrabble and see if anyone wants to be my friend.... and how you all can remember whos who on there, it confuses the hell outta me...guess i am preggie!
What i find with Mumsnet, (and its by NO WAY a critisim) is that if you dont read everyday and keep up with the posts, you lose the thread of the conversation, and i feel like i am in a corner just listening to everyone and making sense of what everyones saying before i can join in!! - anyway...

So my pregnancy is going well, very different in that i still dont feel like i am carrying another baby, if it wasnt for the fact my waistline has over expanded again i wouldnt know! The strange thig for me is that, i am coming up 16 weeks and Jensen is coming up 26weeks! Hes doing so much better than before, still waking a few times in the night, but the ferlux does seem to have improved. Hes on two meals aday, breakfast and dinner, and sometimes will have a yoghurt or fruit pot @ midday. His milk intake had decreased and is prob only having about 20 ozs a day with a small 4 oz feed in the night, but hes thriving on it and at the last weigh in was 21 1/2 pounds, only 7lbs lighter than DD!!

Bought him the cutest little England rugby top from Twickenham on Sat ( we went to see the Police, it was fab!) its a size 9-12 months and fits like a treat. pics on www.peanutmonkey.co.uk or on my Facebook.

Right i have pushed my luck on here this morning and hes now in need of some attention, will check in soon xx

Piffle · 10/09/2007 10:40

I am losing the ability to do both too Jay
It's v hard remembering who is who
I'm v glad muppet told me she ahd sent a freidn request
I was thinking who the F is that then
And finding out Jays only lives about 1/2 an hour away!

Finn is eating anything you put in front of him... We finally moved him into his own room last night as like with Kitty and Ronnie, I think we were disturbing Finn, what with DP's early starts etc..
he had a great night - was in bed at 6.30pm (looong day) dreamfed him at 10.30 and he woke at 4am, then again at 7.30am

I did cry about it though
Diva glad you've joined, you'll see it isall fun fun funny fun! Very social.
well he is awake now so must go and gaze at him...

evenhope · 10/09/2007 11:49

I'm feeling a bit lost with this weaning business. DD is taking about 1/3 jar of pureed mush a day and we stop when she turns her head away. She's also doing a pretty good job of drinking water from a doidy cup, when she remembers to breathe! We've ended up feeding her at about 5-6pm, only because we forget earlier in the day . Trouble is she then has a poo in the night.... She had been going up to 4 days with no poo, so this is not nice.

What time are the other babies having real food, how much and how often?

(and the dog ate her blow up insert cushion for her Ikea highchair so I'm really but pleased we didn't buy a Tripp Trapp for him to chew up)

Piffle · 10/09/2007 12:55

Food...
it's bit hotch potch here no rhythm at all
He has a bf first thing, us a v quick one as he is too damned nosy...
He eats a bit of spoonfed mashed cereal and fruit as well as getting a few soggy shreddies to have a go at himself.
ng at lunch but at 2pm he has veges/fruit and rice (I do my own baby rice type mush) and few chunks of cucumber/banana to suck/chew on
Volume wise he eats about one small jars each sitting worth of spoon fed and a bit of his own stuffed in mess.
Dinner is breastmilk expressed with porridge and fruit veg mix.
This is his biggest meal he is always eating extra here if offered.
He is still on 6 feeds a day (3 good ones and 3 snacks) plus 2 big bf at night

kittywits · 10/09/2007 14:34

Ronnie has 3 meals a day now and I don't know how many bf, still a skinny thing though I reckon all the food has gone into his feet, huge paddles they are and his Neil Kinnock hair do

DollyPopsOut · 10/09/2007 17:25

Hello everyone

We haven't done weaning yet, mainly because we are off to spain in a couple of weeks and I would rather just do milk whilst I am there. I tried DD on a bit of cucumber last week and she just held it so I dont' think we are quite there yet... . 25 weeks today I think! Lost count. She is waking at about 5 now for a feed as well as the 1030pm one so it can't be long.....

Mooncups - might try one when I get my period back but am aiming for a menstrual free 2007.

Good luck for work discussion Foxy.

Hello Sazzy, hope you enjoy your hill walking, you fit young thing you. I think I would conk out if I tried to make it up a mountain.

Mossy,am outraged about Facebook banning boobs, even though I have never been on. I can't keep up with MN, let alone a new and scary diversion. I think you should definitely get them out for the MArch 2007 crew

Hello Diva, are you excited yet? How many weeks as a single gal left?

Hello everyone else

Back later - got to retrieve DD1 from nursery now.

kittywits · 10/09/2007 17:29

HOw did it go today foxy?

OP posts:
foxcub · 10/09/2007 17:39

Kitty do you have any up to date pics of Ronnie?

Evenhope Monti eats thus:

7.30am BF

10.30am BF 11am melted Farley's rusk

1.30 BF

2pm Jar/pot of something or fromage frais

4.30pm BF

7.30pm BF

8.30pm Jar/pot of something or mashed potato

10.30pm BF

00.00am BF

3am BF

5am BF

Then again 7.30am BF

So that's 9 BF's in 24 hours plus 3 meals. In addition he may demand little snacks when he wants asleep which he might get if I am in the house

Thanks Mossy for sending the magazine again - its verry kind of you

Rosy I got what I wanted today regarding the hours - even better than I hoped!!!

I'll be working 2 days from home (only 3 hour days) plus 3 days in the office

evenhope · 10/09/2007 19:24

goodness me, we are nowhere near any sort of routine... She never feeds at the same time more than once. Perhaps I should keep notes and see how often she is feeding (she has been in a right strop today and I've no idea why).

great news on the working hours!

I've set up facebook and contacted mossy, kitty and kiwibella (or I hope i have). I don't recognise anyone else's names and haven't had an OK from the MN group yet.

sazzybee · 10/09/2007 19:59

Ooh blimey - we don't have much of a routine here. Let's see, today he had about 6-7 feeds (3 really big ones), some stewed pear, rice cakes, rice pudding, sweet potato and houmous. And a bit of philadelphia cheese.

Actually that doesn't look like much compared to some of you. But my baby's fat don't you know

Yay foxy! Nice work on the job front. I'm really pleased for you. Hope it bodes well for when I go back ...

diva - I am going to ulverston tomorrow for a week with my mum and dad and elliot so would love (cannot emphasise that enough!) to meet up with you for a coffee or stiff gin one day. My mobile is 07990 977 138. I can't ask you to be my friend on Facebook but my name's Sarah (imaginative user name here huh?).

Right - I'm off to put bags in the boot to give the appearance of being super-organised. Hoping for a poo-free night

sazzybee · 10/09/2007 20:00

ps evenhope - I'd be really cross about the ikea blow up cushion - it's a completely marvellous thing isn't it?

foxcub · 10/09/2007 21:15

Sazzy have a lovely time

Evenhope - I only wrote it down 'cos I am going back to work and needed to work out how many feeds to express during the day - it has kind of focussed me

Kitty - Hiya - sorry x posts earlier - looked as though I was ignoring you

hey can anyone tell me how you "find" people on facebook. people I haven't seen for years keep "findging me" and asking me to be frineds. How TF did they know I just joined facebook?? Or am I being a bit thick?

Jaysthird · 10/09/2007 21:37

Fox, who are you on facebook? And you find people by using the search bar on the home page, just type in the name and it brings up all relevant info If anyone joins and wants to add me, i am on the March 07 group but can also be found as Janet Allen nee Sharp

at all the feeding you are doing for Monti, respect to you though for keeping those night time feeds going..... no way i could manage that, i moan when i have to get up at 3-4ish to feed him. Speaking of which i best go prepare his 10 oclock dream feed, then get off to bed myself, i am knackered.

Piffle · 10/09/2007 21:56

ooooh Sazzy am so jealous of your trip to la lakes... Hope Elliott is dream child for you.
We had a poo incident like yours the other week, I was in flat tailspin WTF do I do?
Then remembered...
Lights low, get everything ready, speed change and feed him again, luckily despite my great fears, he just went straight back to sleep.
Having GREAT issues ATM with sleeves and thumbsucking
See the Finnster like to hold cloth when sucking said thumb...
Usuallly it is the muslin or his little bedtime bear cuddle thing, but as he now turfs everything under him to lay on, he now pulls at his sleeve
Now that's great but as he sucks both thumbs depending on which side he lays on (he tummy sleeps)....
He wakes up squealing cos the thumb we wants is under cotton...

I'm with Jays, Foxy, respect... and you back to work and so on...

kittywits · 10/09/2007 22:15

No, probs Foxy I've put Ronnie in his own cot now as I need sleep . I couldn't do the all night feeding anymore. I'm dead on my feet. Still, the little bugger cries all day STILL (boo hoo emoticon) Rarely sleeps in the day either. However, he has started sitting up on his own for periods of time, only just turned 5 months. I reckon his long gibbon- like arms keep him bablabced .

OP posts:
kittywits · 10/09/2007 22:16

oops, meant balanced--time for bed

OP posts:
sazzybee · 10/09/2007 22:16

LOL at finn losing his thumbs piffle! Elliot has a dummy - was thinking of losing it in favour of a thumb but maybe not now!

He did go straight back to sleep after the poo change last night. The downside of weaning - tons of poo! When he was bf only, he only pooed every week or so. Dolly, you're very sensible to wait. I had Elliot screaming at the end of his feed today for more food and my boobs were empty though so really not an option round here

Night all - have a good week
