Am loving this talk of weddings .

Piff - hope DD's first day goes well. She'll be fine and so will you. THinking of you.

Diva - I think it is just what men do. I don't expect there is more to it.

Mossy - bra kit looks great. Might have to get one as my nursing bras are old and tired (just like me!)

Hello Rosy my love, I've not been around for a while but have been thinking of you and your DH - is he back to full health now?

Congratulations Pink Ranger - what lovely news!

Hello everyone else, hope you are all well.

Bumped into Sazzy in the park yesterday which was lovely as she is a N Londoner and I am south. A great surprise! I live very near Boo and was thinking about popping round to see if she was OK - we had met up a couple of times before we had the babies and I thought I could push a card throuhg her door.... but I think not. She has her own business and had a lot of trouble finding maternity cover, so it wouildn't surprise me if she has ended up doing rather more on her ML than she had planned. Plus I expect she is just very loved up with Jonny and just too busy for MN right now. I hope she comes back though as she was great fun.

Was going to try to express some milk but i think DD2 has her eye on it instead. Back later.

Rosylily · 05/09/2007 10:44

Diva, my ds1 plays world of warcraft obsessively at the moment. He is back to school today so it's back to limited time for him!
He noticed they are recruiting staff at the moment...from artists to customer services.

Don't fret about your dp...let the worry go...let it float away like a little cloud in the sky floating away

Hasan isn't feeding and my boobs are like bricks wonder what's up...

Rosylily · 05/09/2007 10:48

Hi Dolly, dh is doing okay thanks...he's lost loads of weight which he needed to do.

Might not be a bad idea to drop Boo a card. Maybe she'll be back when things settle down for her.

Rosylily · 05/09/2007 11:17

Piffle maybe you and dd can do something nice today? My dd started monday and I was more nervous than she was! It was a relief to get the first day over with. Yesterday she was very tired. I'm sure it'll be okay

Mossy · 05/09/2007 13:02

Congrats pink ranger!!

Diva if you could spare a car seat for the taxi that would be wonderful as it's such a pita to take one on the train along with nappy bag (oh and Bertie too of course)!

I am already altering a long green dress of mine so I can bf Bertie (keep him quiet in the ceremony lol!) and have a lovely green shawl so your guests don't get an eyeful of nork!

Now all I have to do is find a cheap sling in green to match, or I guess I could nab Kitty's sling back off mil, it is a bit small but for a one-off it will be okay I'm sure (it is blue and white tye-dye).

So excited!!!!!

Dolly I too think it would be a good idea to drop Boo a card, let her know we're all thinking of her. I just hope everythign is okay with her.

Rosy if I could drive, that is exactly the kind of thing I would do. Maybe it's a good job I haven't hit the roads yet!!

Piffle how is your dd feeling about school? Is she quite sanguine or is she stressing too?

Diva you know, WoW is just a geeky thing. If I wasn't habitually addicted to MN and Facebook I would probably sign up. But not for chatting people up, but because I am a complete and utter geek when it comes to things like that. I'm sure it is the same for your dp.

Besides anyone he did talk to through WoW would be a big geeky weirdo anyway not a lovely bride-to-be like yourself!

Ooooooh so excited now!!!

What can Bertie wear I wonder? Hmmm... I have nothing in green for him, but he could wear his orange suit and clash horribly, might look quite fun!!

Mossy · 05/09/2007 13:10

Oh and for those of you not habitually addicted to facebook, there are more photos of Bertie on page 1 and 2 of my flickr site.

I've not put the bathing photo up on flickr though as it's my understanding more people can see flickr than facebook and I am almost totally naked in it!

Diva, Lunar, you'll just have to miss out on seeing my foamy norks!!

Not sure if Rosy'll ever recover!!

Piffle · 05/09/2007 13:14

dd is fine about school, not sure she knows it's every day yet though

Rosylily · 05/09/2007 13:37

Diva it's worth joining facebook for Mossy's naked picture alone!

Ds1 wants to know if your dp is on horde or alliance (or something) he is on horde.

Rosylily · 05/09/2007 13:39

His latest character is called Griphook.

foxcub · 05/09/2007 14:21

Hi everyone (lots of air kisses )

Piffle - its a big milestone isn't it - your DD will be fine - all those new friends to play with [big hugs]

Diva - at the wedding we went to last week my friend hired a small coach for all the guests and jumped in a taxi herself. You could hire a coach and get on the coach though.

I've lost Boos number unfortunately as it was on my old (sadly now lost) moby

Dolly it would be lovely if you could pop a card round to her. Tell her to get on MN pronto as we're all talking about her!!

Dolly/Sazzy R U up for a visit to Brighton on 24 October? Its our long awaited MN SE post natal March 07 meet up [phew!]

Rosy - glad to hear your DH is recovering - is he back at work now

Kiwi - glad to hear work is going OK and you've slipped back into the rythm

I actually managed to express some milk just now - I need to start collecting it in preparation for going back to work

Jay - how are you feeling? How many weeks are you now?

Halloooo to anyone I've missed

shanks313 · 05/09/2007 15:14

Hi girls

Hope everyones okay

Deannas doing really well, shes now rolling all over the place, like 3 rolls in a row so she ends up on the other side of the room. She also has started grabbing anything she sees lol
Her birthday party was great on Saturday, she got a taste of ice cream and blancmange and loved it.Even got a party bag with bubbles and chocolate(well I think the chocs for me lol)
Had my first midwife appointment yesterday and scan booked for Sept 27th.She estimated due date as 7th April.Still feeling absolutely exhausted.
What was really worrying is that she felt my stomach and said she couldnt feel anything,I dont know if its because its just too soon or what, just seemed a little cryptic, thats all she said.
Well have to go,Im off out tonight with the mums from the mum and baby group for an Indian,We are letting the daddies babysit hehe.

Piffle · 05/09/2007 15:58

Deanna sounds like she is keeping you busy Shanks. Hope you start to feel a bit better soon, I found it tiring enough with massive age gaps - maybe that's just my age though LOL

muppethasakitten · 05/09/2007 17:30

wow... lots happenef whilst i was away! All these mobile babies where have our little newborns gone

mossy - I'm off to Pisa in 2 weeks for a wedding - but it's only a 2 hour flight so hopefully things should be manageable... fingers crossed!

kids went back to school today

congrats to pinkranger

Samuel is full of cold and waking an UNBELIEVABLE amount in the night... I'm talking every 3/4 to 1 hourly... he wakes himself either in my bed or in his cot next to me and has to be rocked or suckled back to sleep........

......any advice/tips gladly accepted as I am going slowly off my rocker and actually a bit worried about my mental state now due to lack of sleep

Rosylily · 05/09/2007 21:12

Muppet, loads of sympathy on the sleep deprivation. I went through that with ds2 and just brought him in with me full time in the end. I was going off my trolley with sleep deprivation, it's so hard. I have no answers, I hope he settles soon for you.

Shanks I think it is just too early to feel anything easily. I'm sure you'll get all the reassurance you need in due course at the scan. Take it easy. Did you join the due in April thread?

Fox well done and good luck with the expressing project. Dh was back to work as soon as he got out of hospital, he threw himself into working harder than ever I just give up, I have no control over him whatsoever!

divastrop · 05/09/2007 21:55

i'm going to have to do half and half message again...ooooh havent had to do that since the ante-natal days

mossy-you see, facebook is leading you astray.you are posting nudey pics on there.it wont be long before you start thinking 'well,if i can post them on facebook,i may as well post some on yummymummiesINdaBUFF.com and make some money, and if it takes off i can start my own business and never have to return to work'.

rosy-dp is alliance, but he says there are loads of different servers.what server is your ds on?

i had a chat to him earlier and he re-assured me that the chat on there is no different to the other game(apart from the swear filters).
ive been posting on a depression support forum which has swear filters.i typed 'damn' and it came up 'd*'.i thought that was slighlty fluffy of them.

right,back in a mo...

spongecake · 05/09/2007 21:59

am getting v stressed- no wedding pics on facebook yet though, thx for asking, they should arrive tomorrow and i am nagging all the friends who took pics to send me them on a dvd or email them. have an essay to get done by next week, visit from parents(!) and an exam oct. also baby is v wakeful-which i love, but can see in mirror am ageing

spongecake · 05/09/2007 22:03

lol diva at yummymummies- i saw one today and she made me want to cry-all brand new baby, zebra printed baby seat, high heals and floaty skirt, make up- me-old cords, old t shirt decorated with baby sick. she didn;t even smile at me as i took her car space-sourpuss

divastrop · 05/09/2007 22:11

foxy-i was thinking about hiring a minibus.i dont know what the car seat situation is,though, with minibuses or taxis.i dont have car seats for dd2 or ds2,i have never needed them.ds and dd1 are freakishly tall and above the legal height limit now, thankfully.

muppet-sorry you are having a hard time.i cant offer any advice as it's so different for ff babies(putting down straight after a feed just isnt an option with the amount of wind they take in).have you tried putting a pillow or blanket under his cot mattress so it is tilted, though, for his cold?i always do that with Elsie when she is bunged up,and tie an old pram sheet to the cot to put some olbas oil on.

piffle-glad your dd likes school

hello to anyone i've missed

Rosylily · 05/09/2007 22:15

Diva-Agamaggan is his Horde server where he kills alliance people, laughing skull is his alliance server with his low level character (called Zelaos).

Spongecake, I know what you mean, my reflection in the mirror is sad and bad, my skin is grey and spotty, hair thin and lank, massive dark shadows...ooh it's not good for my self esteem...but even one good nights sleep makes a huge improvement!
anyway I bet you looked lovely for your wedding and I'm looking forward to the piccies.

divastrop · 05/09/2007 22:30

rosy-dp is on bronze beard (?)

ahhhh,clouds....

Mossy · 06/09/2007 08:27

Diva pmsl at yummymummiesindabuff!!!

I think I'll have to lose a few pounds before I go on there though!!

Spongecake ikwym. There is a Mum comes to breastfeeding support group, she came this week and last and goodness only knows why. First time, baby was nine days' old, she came in, ALL pregnancy weight gone, full makeup, pert boobs, came in to tell us, "I've come, although I'm finding bfing a breeze, I just want to hear about all your problems so I can make sure I don't encounter them," and then the next week she was telling us how easy her labour was!

COW! I wanted to slap her. Why the f* you coming to a bfing support group when you don't need support and you clearly aren't there to give any?

Muppet I don't have any advice I'm afraid except to say Bertie is the same and I'm thinking of moving him to a cot, I think I actually wake him up sometimes.

Oh bugger better go Bertie is wailing now. See y'all later...

Mossy · 06/09/2007 09:15

Sponge I bet you looked just great remember I have seen your photo anyway so I know. She'll fall over in those high heels mark my words.

Shanks what an odd thing to say that she couldn't feel anything? You're not that far gone yet of course she couldn't feel anything! I think some MW's specialise in trying to worry people.

Foxy there is a load of stuff on expressing in that magazine I sent you which might help?

Today is my first day where I've no baby groups or anything to go to, so I'm going to sit and watch Jeremy Kyle with a baby on my boob, and then take the dogs and Bertie on a nice, leisurely walk!

Piffle · 06/09/2007 11:13

I apologise I'm a bit of a mess this morning
Was ok getting dd ready then popped news on, heard Pavarotti had died
Ummm dd was named after where he was from and where he made his operatic debut I have adored him all my life
Then the next song on the radio after nessun dorma was Teardrops by Womack and Womack which was released when my father died

So I lost it in front of the kids over the shreddies.

I feel ok now, but am keeping radio off.
DD waltzed into school said I'll think of you today mummy and then told me to leave..
So I did.
Kids are great now I know why I keep having them

foxcub · 06/09/2007 11:45

Piffle its really sad about Pavarotti dying isn't it? The world will be a less sunny place without his wonderful talent

Muppet - Monti wakes me hourly too and his chest is rattly. I put Karvol on a bib and tie it to the bed, sometimes props him on a pillow and also Dunk his dummy in teething gel and stick it in his mouth as soon as he stirs - that often gets him off again, without having him bothering me boobs!! He loves the taste of teething gel

Diva PMSL at yummymummiesindabuff!! hee hee

So what are people feeding their babies now then? Monti is getting very bored with his pureed stuff - I spent £16 this monring on over priced baby foods. I noticed yesyerday he was enjoying holding a stick of cucumber and sucking the juice out.

Any other ideas for babies at this stage - ones that don't involve any cooking please! .

Hope everyone else is well, if a bit exhausted

foxcub · 06/09/2007 11:46

Oh Hi Pinkranger [waves] congratulations, that's wonderful news about your new baby
