Sorry but I can't keep up with all the msgs

Hi to everyone

Spongecake - if I didn't congratulate you already, big congrats on your marriage, hope the wedding went well

Mossy - how easy was it to convert the bra?
I was looking at underwired nursing bras yesterday but I think they are too small for me

Foxy - hello, all okay here just finished our last trip away

I am now trying to work out how I will get up in time to get DS to preschool for 9am
Any top tips ladies?

DD is 23 weeks (I think). Can anyone remind me what I am supposed to do with this weaning business?

Rosylily · 04/09/2007 09:52

I'm on a whole other level, I just throw on any old shabby bra that's clean and pull it up to feed, can't even be bothered unclipping....maybe I should change my name to waynetta a nice bra would be wasted on me, wasted.

LunarSea · 04/09/2007 10:05

Phew - back to a slightly more normal feeding pattern last night/this morning!

But as of this morning Toby's started pulling himself up! I'm trying to unpack (only got home yesterday), but I can't take my eyes off him for a minute now.

I've uploaded a couple of new pics to my profile - may do more later if he manages to wriggle himself to a standstill!

Rosylily · 04/09/2007 10:07

Diva here's a wedding cake for you!

Rosylily · 04/09/2007 10:08

Lunar the pictures are great, isn't Toby cute and clever!

Piffle · 04/09/2007 10:12

lunar crikey toby one lad in a hurry!Finn gets his hands on the edge of the cot but is yet to pull himself up fully.
Not long though I expect
rosy you are not alone in the bra of shame clique
Functional every time....

kittywits · 04/09/2007 11:35

Another "no waking" night from Ronnie!!
He's trying to sit up on his own and move forward by moving his hands over the floor. He is crap at both and so gets mighty pissed off!

OP posts:
divastrop · 04/09/2007 13:07

rosy-the cake is lovely but i fear it would clash with my dress

yippeee!the kids have gone to school.well.ds2 has been and is back now(half days till next week).he went in and sat down, and said 'im staying here.bye'.

i went shopping when i'd dropped him off and when i got home dp said Elsie had been screaming the whole time i was out.she looks a bit pale and spotty, and is hardly drinking any milk atall.

right,im going to town to look at bras.i actually prefer food shopping to shopping for bras(and shoes).and thats saying something.

evenhope · 04/09/2007 13:09

Lunar, Toby looks so grown up

We were back to 2-hourly feeding all night last night so kitty to you!

We went out looking for a highchair yesterday. Simple enough task? I just wanted a wooden one. First shop we see huge garish plastic monstrosities that go up and down, recline etc. DD slips and slides in the wooden ones- no good. DH didn't want to have to buy an insert because the one we used to have was nasty.

Came back and searched through previous threads and it seems most MNetters go for either the £11.99 Ikea jobby or a Tripp Trapp. (2 extremes)

Can I justify spending £135 on a highchair? (or a looong trip to IKea?) I want a tray so I'm drawn to the Svan... What to do?

kittywits · 04/09/2007 13:34

Evenhope, I would say that it depends how many more children you intend to have

OP posts:
Mossy · 04/09/2007 13:39

Kitty am very but I also wonder if Bertie would sleep better without me there, and I without him.

But... the truth is, I kind of like having him there, even if I am tired all the time.

Not sure what to do.

TheBlonde it was really easy to convert the bra, I love it now! It is underwired and quite push-up which is great for my silly-size boobs!

Lunar Toby is just so clever! What a little sweetie too.
Are you on facebook btw?

Evenhope I'm with you on the two-hourly feeding, I don't think he is always hungry though I think he needs it to get back to sleep! Maybe I should just find a new way of getting him to sleep?

Diva I got your invite this morning and of course me and Bertie will be there at the wedding, how far away is the reception, is it walking distance? Or is there a bus?

Rosy pmsl at the orange peel!

Sazzy, I don't ever want Bertie to grow up, either.

Speaking of Bertie, he is kerfuffling from upstairs so I had better go and get him!!

Piffle · 04/09/2007 15:01

re the highchair the tripp trapp is not a hand down per se as kids stay in it forever
we have 2 finn loves his tripp trapp - pic on profile

mossy am the same would miss finn loads and as he is my last I'm really resisting him going- dp is getting a bit narked as it means keeping quiet
But the sight of his little hands over the cot and his wee coos and happy gurgles.
plus I get to feed at 3am in MY own bed.

Have had some success with limting solids and his bf has picked up again - which suits, do wish he would stop trying to roll over with my nipple still firmly in his mouth never knew it could stretchthat far and tbh I never needed to know. Let's hope it pings back - if it is anything like the rest of my godforsaken body I suspect not

kittywits · 04/09/2007 15:08

Yeah, actually, we've got 4 tripp trapp type chairs. Actually I think I prefer the babydan version though

OP posts:
Piffle · 04/09/2007 15:24

kitty I liked it too until someone in the know pointed out that food gets stuck int he little holes
And being the slattern I am
plus then due to dd having the TT, we needed to have a matching set
I think M+P do a nice one now too
here

Rosylily · 04/09/2007 17:26

Good high chair tips, I'm trying to work out what to go for too.

foxcub · 04/09/2007 18:16

LOL at elsticated nipples on here!!

I let Monti do the sleepy lie down feed last night as I was so knackered. It was very sweet having him snuffling away

Like some of the other babies on here he prefers to BF at night!

I remember reading about a woman once who returned to work and her baby used to do all his BFs at night - not drinking any milk during the day!! Imagine

Hope everyone is OK. We are back to school tomorrow. Need to set the clock for 6.30am...

Jaysthird · 04/09/2007 21:05

Hiya! I know i am rubbish on here, i think what it is is that you lot can chat for ever and a day and i get daunted by the amount of posts there are, so rather than being able to catch up, its easier to let it slip..... if you know what i mean!
Things here are ok, Jensen still has reflux even though hes on two meals a day, sometimes three, he does sleep better now, and a couple of times he has slept a 6 hour stretch, i only feed him once in the night so thats a relief also. I am hoping that the reflux eventually dies down, its so disheartening to see his poor face when he brings up his milk But other than that hes coming on a treat. Hes not pulling himself up but he is up on all fours rocking away like theres no tomorrow...he loves his Jumperoo and bounces for ever and a day in it and when hes nto in it all he wants to do is stand up, his thigh muscles are so developed!
(I do have videos and pics up on Facebook - i know not all of you are on it though, but dont forget you can visit www.peanutmonkey.co.uk to see our updates!
Love to all xxxx

kiwibella · 04/09/2007 21:23

so many messages... what a busy day!!

I absolutely love the look of that wedding cake. Have I missed a wedding cake dilemma, Diva... or is it your gift Rosy .

Hooray for everyone packing off their big kids back to school. Ours were in today - and I swear I haven't been away. Nor do I have time to think about Kate and her gorgeous ways during the day. It is the most bizarre feeling.

The bra conversion kit looks like a good idea. I would be too scared of messing it up!! I do agree that nursing / feeding bras are so ugly which is a shame when it is a time in life when you feel least sexy anyways.

Re highchairs - we went for a plastic jobby. It looks cosy but find myself being fastidious about the bits that get everywhere.

divastrop · 04/09/2007 22:02

hi jay![waves]

bella-i am not having a cake dilemma,its a straightforward going-to-buy-one-from-tesco job.

same with a highchair,i will probably just get another £25 from argos thing like i have for dd2.

i need a bra converter.i need something that converts a bra i already have into exactly the bra i need to go under my dress.in fact,im seriously beginning to wish i'd bough a bra first then got a dress to go with it

mossy-the reception isn't walking distance,i havent thought about how we are getting there.(well, its walking distance by my standards but my standard is anything under 4 miles).we may have to get taxis, there is a bus stop opposite the registry office and a bus every 10 mins that goes to the pubbut i am going to have to sort something out anyway.im sure i will be able to borrow you a car seat if need be.

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 04/09/2007 23:30

Hi Ladies

Dont know if anyone remembers me but i was on the March ante natal thread last year but had a mmc in August.
Just to say that i gave birth to my beautiful DS2 on 27th August at home. Perfect birth, perfect baby!

Hope you are all well and enjoying your LO xx

Does boo still come on here?

LunarSea · 05/09/2007 09:23

Hi all - we have the wooden tripp trapp style chair too - but it's the £30 version from Tchibo. I need another one though as ds1 was still using it until the other day when we put the baby attachments on for Toby as a temporary measure until we can get the big highchair down from the attic. Trouble is they only have them in about twice a year.

Mossy - no am not on facebook - hardly get time to look on mumsnet, let alone anywhere else. Goodness knows how I'm going to fit in working full time again as well!

Piffle · 05/09/2007 09:36

Pinkranger that is fab news - many congratulations!
Boo has not been seen for a while, we are all worried about her as last time she posted she sounded pretty down.
Hope her and Jonny are doing ok.
Right off to catch up
Am a mess today, dd starts school tomorrow, am in bits and not coping at all well

Rosylily · 05/09/2007 09:48

Hi Pinkranger, I remember you and I'm so delighted to see your news. Congratulations! And well done on managing a home birth too

Diva aren't you going in a stretch limo then?

Dh hired a vintage car for us crazily at the last minute. I felt like a right twit in it though. A bottle of champagne was included but we didn't want any at the time. The driver probably took it as his tip but weeks later dh went back to claim the champagne (cringe, cringe, cringe)
Might be fun to get the bus though. My sister was walking up a mountain in her full length strapless wedding dress with us all dressed up too and some walkers came past in their walking gear very amused by the sight of us! Though up a mountain at a waterfall was a romantic place to marry of course.
And they were so romantic and my sis was in floods of tears
I love weddings, I'd love to be coming to yours, make sure you give us all the gorey details! Mossy can take loads of pictures!

Sponge do you have wedding piccies on facebook? Must have a nosey......

This morning I discovered I had left the car key in the ignition all night and the battery is dead. Somebody please save me from myself I'm a walking disaster.

divastrop · 05/09/2007 10:11

pinkranger-congratulations!

i hope boo is ok.i know she didnt post when she first had johnny but she did start posting regularly again at one point-even got quote of the week with her johnny depp comment on that make up thread-now shes vanished again.hopefully she's just too busy now,or even better, expecting again and too tired

rosy-can you borrow a boat and come over for the wedding?

im feeling down today.a friend of mine who's son is friends with ds2 was handing out what looked like party invitations this morning but ds didnt get one.i think they may have been for her ds2 though,i think her ds1's birthday is next month, but if i was having a party for a 2 year old who doesnt go to nursery or anything i would invite my friends iyswim.

i havent heard from my sister atall, and she was going to be taking the photos at the wedding.

dp is playing world of warcraft now.just as i'd got my head aroung him chatting on that other game and it wasnt bothering me anymore,he's started playing a new game with new people

i'm convinced he's going to change his mind at the last minute and remember he had a life before he met me.

Piffle · 05/09/2007 10:15

diva you worry too much petal
It is what a lot of guys do, it neans nothing honest... obv make sure there are boundaries and that you both get equal time to enjoy hobbies.
