Oooh Eids it sounds so lovely in Australia . I can't remember did you emigrate there or were you born there?

sponge/diva - how hurtful of your sisters not to turn up . Are they a teeny weeny bit jealous do you think?

Evenhope - that is precisely what Monti does - sniffs around for food when he's at home but when we're out he is so nosey he forgets to get hungry. Loves to feed all night when the milk is better too ....

Kitty - do you think that being away from the mummy's milk smell helps them sleep better then? I am very curious as to why Ronnie has slept all night out of your room??? Tell me your secret!

eidsvold · 02/09/2007 22:36

foxy - born and bred in brisbane - lived most of my life there and in other areas of queensland

foxcub · 02/09/2007 22:43

R U on Facebook Eids?

kittywits · 02/09/2007 23:07

Foxy, I really think it is because he can't smell me ( i stink 'cos I never get to wash ) AND I'm sure I wake him simply by turning over in bed.

Diva how hurtful of your sister. If it's any consolation, mine was going to be my bridesmaid until she decided she wouldn't dream of even attending the wedding of a pair of heathens.

Sponge they don't download onto your computer, they download onto your facebook account, so they don't clog up your computer at all. Tryust me, I have no space on my PC at all but my facebook is all singing and all dancing!

I even have a garden!

Evenhope Bertie prefers to feed at night, he's just too distracted in the day.

Kitty am of your sleep! I don't know whether Bertie would sleep better out of my bed or not, do you think I should be moving him to a cot now? I quite like having him in the bed... but the all-night sucking gets a bit much at times!

I am starting my peer-supporter course today and am really excited!!!

Rosylily · 03/09/2007 08:22

Eidsvold you are like my sister, she was telling me all her commitments for the next while and it made me tired just thinking about it! You have loads of stamina!

Spongecake/Diva It is such a shame about your sisters. I can't understand it, my sisters are my best friends but I guess it usually isn't like that in families

Diva, what about the wanted section of mumsnet for bras? unfortunately I've only got loads of chewing gum white with holes in size 36a/b...the opposite of sexy. I must throw them out, (I'm such a tramp!)

Rosylily · 03/09/2007 08:29

Mossy your facebook thing is SO all singing and dancing You've got houses for your pets on it! I have an aquarium (it hasn't got any fish yet of course) Hey I must have a look again...I want a garden.

(Come on Diva...come to facebook...never mind your husband to be...)

Hasan keeps waking in bed until I'm beside him. Then he cuddles up and sleeps well usually. Though recently he's been feeding more and sucking me dry and he still won't take solids yet.(sigh)

spongecake · 03/09/2007 09:10

thanks for the facebook advice

diva, if you measure yourself at www.amplebosom.com/acatalog/Measuring_Guide.html but don't wear a bra when you do it, incase that bra is the wrong size...

i wore a balconey bra (i am 32f, so UP and supported) and just slipped my dress down to bf. you can take a shawl or something to sling round you if you need to bf elsie on the night.

rosy, you are v lucky. mine was ok until i got pregnant and married. she liked her superior status i think

Mossy · 03/09/2007 09:20

Bloody hell Eids I completely missed your post!! Your level of activity puts me to shame!!

Diva, bras... well, there's a great shop in St Helens does proper Bravissimo-style fitting but it's a bit of a trek for you (train to preston, then to st helens)... what a shame there's no Bravissimo in Preston! As sponge says the amplebosom site has a good guide, as does Bravissimo's web site. I have two lovely bras in 32F that I'll never be able to wear now... they were a present that I got given just before I got pregnant and my boobs grew so they've not been worn, let me know if you want them. One is white and the other is green, both push up and very nice.

Rosy I didn't see your aquarium! I'll see if I can send you a fish!!

evenhope · 03/09/2007 09:25

Well we almost made it to 26 weeks... The whole holiday DD was watching us eat and slapping her chops. Yesterday she was sat on my lap while I was eating trifle, watching every spoonful go in, moving her mouth and trying to put her hands in the dish. Then we got the cartoon downturned mouth and a pitiful mum-mum-mum. So I got a jar of apple puree and offered her a spoonful. Straight in. Ate half the jar before she turned her head away. She's 25 weeks tomorrow so I suppose it's not that early

(Now we've got to go out and buy a blasted highchair!!!)

evenhope · 03/09/2007 09:28

On the subject of bras I finally managed to get to a shop that does fitting. No wonder I couldn't get a bra to fit, I'm a 34H . Not an instantly available size. I was wearing 38G which was doing nothing in the way of support- I can see why now. It's amazing what a difference it makes.

Piffle · 03/09/2007 10:40

venhope ditto was spilling out of a 36FF
Got measured
was 32HH
Grim indeed

Got to dash must send Rosy a fish!

Piffle · 03/09/2007 10:43

and do=itto with the food what is Finn24wks now?
Don't know
but he grabbed handful of dd's rice krispies the pother day and scoffed the lot
TRue baby led weaning
now yesterday he sucked his dads steak fat til it was dry.
Figure erm he is probably ready, he does purees but prefers the real grub...

DollyPopsOut · 03/09/2007 10:56

Hello everyone! Long time no see! Have been hugely busy and had to go out to work yesterday which was a huge shock to the system. Not back properly til 26th Nov but just doing a bit here and there to earn some cash and keep my hand in.

Tilly still gorgeous, still only on milk, must be 23/24 weeks now - have lost count. I can't do pictures but can assure you she is smiley and happy 99% of the time. Big sistser now settled at new nursery and doing well.

How is everyone and their delicious babies? What have I missed? Love to all XXXX

divastrop · 03/09/2007 11:24

mossy-thanks,but i have a couple of 32F bras and they are way too tight on me.im sure there must be some small independant shops round here that do fitting.actually,im sure therea a bra shop round the corner that i walk past on my way to town.or did it get turned into a cafe?im not the most observant person

sponge-i am ff so getting out of the bra isnt an issue.

rosy-i used to get on really well with my sister when we were younger, and we used to chat on the phone often untill about 3/4 years ago.i have no idea what her problem is.when i see her we get on fine, and she made a big fuss of elsie at my nan's funeral.in fact, the only reason i invited her was because she said she would like to come to the wedding when i saw her.strange.she's the total opposite of me,though.shes a virgo,super-organised career woman who never wants children, into designer labels, fine wines and has 3 holidays a year!

dp doesnt know anything about facebook, and i dont think he wold care if i joined,i just know that i would care if he joined something like that and i dont like to be a hypocrite.

Elsie has a tooth1 down,19 to go

Rosylily · 03/09/2007 13:47

Piffle, thanks for the fish...I was fishing for a fish a bit wasn't I

foxcub · 03/09/2007 16:21

Hi everyone

Hi Dollypops! Nice to hear the girls are doing well - anyone heard from Boo recently?

Diva of your sister's lifestyle.

If I didn't have kids I could have a lifestyle too...

LunarSea · 03/09/2007 20:23

Piffle - Toby's done the sucking the piece of bbq'd steak until it was just white fibres thing too.

We've just got back from a couple of weeks in France and Toby has developed a very continental taste for baguettes and croissants! Plus anything else that any of us have to eat which he can possibly treat as finger food.

He actually seems to prefer proper solids (e.g slices of apple to munch on) to purees so I don't think we'll have much trouble when it come to moving on to lumpier food.

The downside is that he seems to have decided that life is much too interesting to waste precious daylight time on any more than the minimum possible time breastfeeding - and making up for it by trying to feed (while I'm convinced he's actually asleep) all night instead. Not good news when I have to go back to work in less than 3 weeks.

Piffle · 03/09/2007 21:23

lunar am worried about Finn doing that too
He has abandoned feeding much during the day
Am so worried am thining abuot reverting to the blissful state before last week
But boy has he taken to food - like proper food really keenly
Am wanting to feed him for long time as he is my last, but he seems so keen to swap for food

kiwibella · 03/09/2007 21:38

hi!!! First day of work down... Diva, don't panic after all - it's seven weeks until half term. Then, after the week holiday, it's eight until Christmas. Those poor kiddies will be exhausted.

It is so surreal being back at work - it was great to be back but so scarily like I never left. It was even hard to believe that had I had this beautiful bundle waiting for me at home. Hubs has taken two weeks off to play house-husband and he is just as crap at it as I am .

Hi Eids... hi Dolly... glad you got your bra sorted evenhope - I think I need to do this.

I didn't have to wear a nursing bra today!!!

Get these hungry bubbies eating up all their food (and then some). Kate also pecks if we are out and about and she is good on solids - not in to puree at all tho.

divastrop · 03/09/2007 21:42

Elsie was muching on a chip today(she may as well get used to it).i found none of mine would eat lumpy baby food,so i like the idea of going straight to 'proper' food.she is drinking less and less milk during the day now and then has about 11oz in one go before bed.

anyway, less of the facebook in-crowd chat you bunch of fishwives

i cant believe my little baby boy is starting school tomorrow.dd1 gave him a pep-talk;'dont worry, its the same as nursery except you have to do some writing in the morning.and dont call it 'big school' or the year 2's will take the mickey out of you' .i'm nervous for him!

sazzybee · 03/09/2007 21:56

Oh diva - your baby is starting school I don't want Elliot to ever grow up. Hmm but having said that, he is really annoying me when he's feeding atm - he keeps jerking his head back but not reducing his suck at all. Ouch! I sit in dull places with nothing to look at and he still does it - my nips feel like they're going to fall off. He's still feeding loads in the day and not at night though so I should be grateful.

He has started trying to grab everything I eat so I gave him some broccoli which he seemed quite keen on and then some banana. He's 24 weeks now but I'm going to wait till he's 6 months proper to give him wheat and dairy as we both have eczema and I've got asthma and a load of food allergies so I need to take it slow.

God that's awful about your sisters you lot - I am not very close to one of my sisters but she is always very pleased when stuff goes well for me and would never not turn up at my wedding. How hurtful for you

I emailed my boss about going back to work today - yuck yuck yuck

Rosylily · 03/09/2007 23:12

Hasan managed to chew up and swallow a piece of paper today, then he started trying to eat a piece of orange peel he found on the floor...failure as a mother hangs head in weaning shame...

Mossy · 04/09/2007 09:24

Ladies, if you are bf and fed up of horrid bras or having to compromise on style for the sake of size, try this!

I just converted one of my bras and now feel a whole geap sexier!!

More later when I gave both hands available to type am currently holding Bertie with t'other!

kittywits · 04/09/2007 09:38

Hooray, back at school!!!
Silly me set the clock wrong and the alarm went off at 5.30 instead of 6.30
Now to start sorting out the house......
Have a good day y'all
