And you think ughhh how could I...

Mossy · 29/08/2007 13:53

It was Foxy after all that.

Don't know whether to be pleased or disappointed that I don't have a cyber stalker! Only messing Foxy... I am pleased obviously!!

Diva that is fantastic did he see you at all? Way to go!!

Piffle I have made a group on Facebook now so you can see who everyone is who is on there.

Come on Diva... I promise I'll keep any hairy knuckled truckers well away from you!!

I find facebook very confusing

divastrop · 29/08/2007 20:41

mossy-i am not joining facebook under any circumstances.if dp joined a site like that i would wonder wtf he was upto(or intending to get upto)

i'd rather join netmums!

if you text me your address i will send you a wedding invite.

the ex said hello and i sort of smiled and hurried past.last time i saw him he was telling me about how he almost got sent down for racially abusing some turkish kebab-shop owners.

Callieco · 29/08/2007 21:27

Hello, just been away for a few days again. It's all go here at the moment. We're off to France via Dorset on Saturday.

I joined Facebook after a friend invited me but used my work email address (this is after DS was born) and didn't know you would need to activate the account from an email sent to your email address... so I can't use it until I go back to work. So Diva I'm here with you! I think MN is enough interneting for me at the moment.

Callieco · 29/08/2007 22:05

Forgot to say, had a milestone yesterday. Jordi's first tooth has poked its tip through. Bless.

kiwibella · 30/08/2007 10:05

Kitty... are you Emma on Facebook? Foxy... where are you??

Mossy... you have too many friends now!!!!!!!

Now I'm up-to-date with facebook I'm off to catch up with your posts here .

kiwibella · 30/08/2007 10:15

sazzy... with facebook, I find that I find out lots of things which I didn't need to know (like what people are up to and who they are friends with). But, I'm so nosey... it's great!

I do like that all our news is in one place here instead of traipsing off to everyone's pages.

Hehehehe Diva... no longings for him then It's great for your confidence to see how well you have come along!

Wow, Callie... Jordi is becoming a world-class traveller. Have a great time.

Me, I'm heading back to stinking work on Monday. I was looking forward to it but as the time approaches....

Oh well, it's only six weeks till half term

... and then I get to meet you lot .

kiwibella · 30/08/2007 10:21

heehee, benefits people called - wondering why I hadn't applied for my child born in 1996 before??????? Hmmmm, I am going to be paid for a child who wasn't born here but not for working here .

Best news is three months back-dated pay for both girls is being deposited in my account. Yeeha!

divastrop · 30/08/2007 10:48

bella-that will be good!

only 6 weeks to half term?arrrrrggggggghhhhh!im too fat!!better get back on to the fatty confessions thread.

callie-theres no stopping you now you know you can cope with travelling.i dont know if Elsie's tooth is through yet or still trying to come through.i can see it but she wnt let me get a good look.

i was going to get her weighed yesterday but im too impatient and couldnt be bothered waiting at the clinic.the 6-9 months clothes only just fit her,and the 9-12 month tops and dresses fit her fine.dd2 is still in 12-18 month trousers!

foxcub · 30/08/2007 11:27

Well done Kiwi

Diva - shame we won't see you on facebook - though I have to admit it does look a bit like a dating agenecy - most pics of people are young blonde and beautifil (and that's just the |Mad March hairs LOL)

Mossy - thanx for the gift!!

Its my BIRTHDAY everyone!!

Piffle · 30/08/2007 13:00

Ha nothing seedy about my friends unless you lasses are hiding secrets
mine's all family and you lot.
it's what I need I think as am finding MN (this group being the exception)increasingly tedious at times...

Finding Fb quite fun

Callieco · 30/08/2007 14:36

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOXY. And - back 2 work on Monday????????? You and Kiwi too. Many commiserations. I'm still in denial (and running down the cash ). Have a wide awake child here who should have gone to sleep about an hour ago according to my reckoning, so am finding it v diff 2 do anything, or type.

kiwibella · 30/08/2007 15:03

oh-oh... Piffle's gone and become a fb addict .

Happy birthday Foxy!! Hope it's a special day for you x x

muppethasakitten · 30/08/2007 17:08

Happy Birthday Foxy

Are you doing anything special tonight or at the w/e? Hope you have the odd glass of cava to celebrate at the least.

I am completely baffled by facebook... it's like some nightmare pyramid sales company.... think I need a crash course - how do you find people if you didn't go to school with them....

On a different note entirely - all those of you jetting round the planet with babies - I've never flown with such a young one b4 - what is the form... can you take strollers to the gate? Can you take the car seat on board? what counts as hand luggage?

Piffle · 30/08/2007 17:44

I know muppet, I find it hard enough to go to the local shops nowadays

I actually think I'm slightly agoraphobic. am already so worried about Brighton, really want to go but think unless do can help me get down there I'll bail.
Have lost all confidence on assault missions since having dd as she was allergic to leaving the house for 3 yrs.
Now she is flying out and I'm left arrghhh help!
This is the same lass who left NZ with $10 singapore dollars in total cash for the UK with one active just turned 3yr old....
I do despair of myself at times

Just read back
that was a bit ermmmm honest of me

kittywits · 30/08/2007 18:44

Piffle, do come!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOXY xxxxxxx

OP posts:
foxcub · 30/08/2007 19:25

Piffle - you can come here if you like and I'll drive you

I'll have 3 spare seats on the day.

Well I had my massage and was able to contemplate a bit and have realised I feel so very depressed about returning to work in 2.4 weeks. My boss has e-mailed me saying that it will take longer than that to process my flexi work application so he wants me to return on my old hours.

I am going to e-mail him saying I cannot return until I have childcare set up and I cannot arrange childcare until I have my hours confirmed, so will be postponing my return until its all agreed. That will give me at least another two weeks with Monti.

My plan is to work 3 days in office/1 at home. Taking one day annual leave each week would mean only 2 days in office until January, which would be fine, but my boss is hinting he doesn't want to agree it (talking about the need to "bottom out" some "issues" around my proposed new hours ).

I need to start athread to get some ideas on tactics really but feel too depressed

foxcub · 30/08/2007 19:33

My sad thread:

kiwibella · 30/08/2007 20:11

oh Foxy... I really feel for you... and I understand (somewhat) - the number of tears I cried while making this decision could have made the River Thames flood!!!

I am going back to work on Monday mostly because I couldn't get hold of my boss over the summer since he buggers off to his holiday home in Spain with his family as soon as school finishes (and I mean the same afternoon!).

It is such an awful feeling to be leaving. Kate has just started realising when I am not in the same room as her and my previously happy-to-be-with-anyone girl can scream like I never knew. Somehow, I am going to have to drop her off to nursery and then wonder how she is doing while the rest of my day rushes past in a blur of 'needy' kids.

I'm giving it till Christmas (coincidentally when my three month or pay back maternity pay period ends).

Piffle · 30/08/2007 20:20

Am totally gutted for you lasses who are feeling this way about returning to work.
I feel so lucky not having to work.
I had to work with ds1 and it was so hard...
Hoping you get the hrs you want Foxy and hugs too xxxxxxxxxxx

kiwibella · 30/08/2007 20:53

Piffle, that's the irony for me - I don't have to work and, in fact, it is my dh's preference that I am at home. However, it was the fact that I couldn't contact my boss and that I would have to pay back my maternity pay if I didn't return that I have decided to give it a go and get it over with (if you like!).

I don't know what to suggest for you Foxy but I truly hope that it works out best for you.
