Here I am!

The Blonde - hello! Nice to see you posting The plan (as I understand it) is to go to Brighton for the day on 24 October to see kitty and have a general lark about. I think quite a lot of people are staying over but I don't think I can. It's the second week I'm back at work and, while I can change one of my days, I think it's probably going to be a bit tricky to change two so early in my return

Really not looking forward to going back although I think I can spin out my holiday to only work 3 days a week for the rest of the year. There is an advantage to being so dreadful at maths - I get calculations wrong a lot and quite regularly in my favour

kiwi - I keep thinking of you as I'm reading a book called The Colour about the goldrush in NZ. Have you read it? It's very good.

I gave Elliot a rice cake today. He seems to have managed to consume quite a lot. His poos will tell the story I guess! Think it might be one of the rare days he gets bathed though ... he looks like he's been pebble dashed!

I'm hoping it's so quiet around here as everyone is out enjoying a rare sunny bank holiday

divastrop · 26/08/2007 17:42

im here now

been to an outdoor gig with local rock bands in the town square all afternoon.dd2 was headbanging, she loved it.i did gaze longingly at the beer tent thinking 'in a few years...'while drinking my generic red bull in an attempt to stay alert enough to keep an eye on 5 kids at once

i used to go to things like that all the time when ds and dd1 were little and get pissed as a fart

kitty-are all your children still alive?mine are-just.ds and dd1 are very lucky they havent been sold on ebay yet(only because i dont have a sellers account).

'one more week' has become my mantra.i feel like im on another planet now as i am so stressed, and dp and i had a row about farting last night

so...where has everybody gone?i text mossy but she hasnt replied.i keep wondering about booboo as well.

kittywits · 26/08/2007 18:46

Mossy is on facebook all the time

Last week I spent the week shut away with 6 kids and my mother in a 6 berth callet that had a "living space" smaller than most people's loos.
When I got back dp said I looked very 'trim' i.e 'you've lost weight kitty'. Oh yes, I have I lived off red wine and raw nerves

Cool, brighton for the 24th?
I can put some people up, especially if dc's 1,2 and 3 are at my dad's in Bath, which I think they might be. If they are I'll have 1 double, 3 single beds and 2 mattress type things.

kiwibella · 26/08/2007 18:50

shhhhhhhhhh Kitty... only one more week until I am back at work

kittywits · 26/08/2007 20:10

Oh no Kiwi! How are you feeling about it? sorry if you've already said all this, but will you be working full time etc and who will be looking after Kate?

Mossy · 26/08/2007 21:07

Ladies, I have an apology to make.

I have been on facebook and spending all my time on there instead of here.

And to top things off my internet connection has been really dodgy going on and off.

So I am now going to read through everyone's messages to find out what's going on in everyone's life!

Sorry, sorry, a thousand times sorry.

Mossy · 26/08/2007 21:15

Right, that was quick! Where's everyone else gone then? Not everyone's on facebook!!

Piffle Finn is so cute crawling around on his tum!

Diva I am sure I texted you back, later on today, did you not get it? Sorry I wasn't ignoring you!!! A row about farting? You or him?!

Sazzy iirc you had found a really good nursery for Elliot how do you think he will take to it?

Sponge huge congratulations have you any pictures of the wedding?

Right I have a question, how do you know when babies are ready for food? I keep seeing you all posting your dc's seem "ready" for food but what does that mean? I know there is that six month guideline, but should I be looking out for some "signs" that he wants food before that?

Everyone else hope you're having a marvellous bank holiday weekend.

And I promise not to stay away so long next time. Do feel free to slap my wrist.

Or join me on facebook........

spongecake · 26/08/2007 22:10

no pics yet, am amassing them at present

facebook mossy! i have an account but just find myself nosing at my friends friends i don;t know. some of the women have actually posted proper posed by a professional photograher of themselves! looks really weird against "normal" pics.

baby watches me eat like he is a laborador watching someone unwrap a biscuit. he snatches at food and opens his mouth for food... then pulls a face as its not breastmilk. hopefully this is usual amongst babies..???

am going to a fete 2moro. dh is at work again.

divastrop · 26/08/2007 22:37

mossy-yes i got your text about half hour ago when i fished my phone out of my bag

anyway-facebook is bad mmmkay!it is already affecting marriages(see here.give it another year or two and there will be reality tv shows called 'facebook ruined my life' and such appearing, just like with friends reunited.you mark my words

the row was about my farting(digestive problems side effect of ad's)and the fact that i should 'see a doctor'as it 'isnt normal'.there were other issues though, that was just how it started.

kitty-i didnt realise you went away with your mum,i thought you'd gone with your dp.you poor woman!

Mossy · 27/08/2007 10:33

Sponge come and find me on facebook, I am Ruth Moss (Manchester) with a lovely black and white photo which ... I took myself and doctored ridiculously so I look rather much more glam than I do in real life!!

I will say it again. I am not from Manchester but Facebook doesn't have a Liverpool network.

Diva I'm a farty trumppants too but I don't have an excuse, except I eat too quickly and swallow loads of air down!

So that's where Bertie gets it from!!

foxcub · 27/08/2007 11:51

Bump to get this back on my list [hi everyone ]

divastrop · 27/08/2007 12:09

glam photos?that confirms my suspicions that facebook is just a dating site parading as something innocent.

Elsie is officially rolling over.ds1 rolled over at 6.5 months,dd1 and ds2 were 8 months,and dd2 was 9 months.i wasnt expecting it.help.

kittywits · 27/08/2007 12:52

Mossy and I have decided that our babies are inert , except for their screaming mouths of course

OP posts:
kiwibella · 27/08/2007 13:03

Diva: I have to admit that I have put my foot down with hubs about some "friends" on facebook - girls who have 'screwed the crew' (so to speak) and wouldn't have stopped at a married man .

Sponge / Mossy: ditto about Kate letting me know that she is ready for food by simply grabbing at whatever we are eating!! I haven't done anything special about weaning her tho...

Kitty... back to school full-time and Kate is soaking up my wages in nursery fees. We've been madly applying for childcare vouchers / tax credits. I don't think we'll get the latter because of hubs' income and our immigration status... but ya never know unless you try . I don't have a class so I'm hoping that returning to work will be relatively stress free and I will be making a point of leaving by 4pm.

Hubs will be home for the first two weeks anyways playing house-husband and settling Kate in to nursery.

MissE will be starting secondary school too . She is so excited!!

kiwibella · 27/08/2007 13:04

facebook photos ... hubs took some portrait shots for a friend the other night (magazine work) which she then posted on facebook!!

kiwibella · 27/08/2007 13:05

Hi Fox... is it welcome back from Isle of Wight or are you taking a break .

divastrop · 27/08/2007 15:39

i'm just glad that dp has no interest in real life

foxcub · 27/08/2007 17:25

Kiwi - wow MissE is really growing up eh?

Secondary svhool still sems a long way off for DS1, who will be starting Juniors.

DD will be starting Reception and can't wait to waer her school uniform!

We never got to the Isle of Wight

We were leaving the house on sat to go to Monti's baptism, (having planned to depart for IoW the next day) and the bloody car wouldn't start.

3rd breakdown within 8 weeks

We're building our Playhouse instead though - which is fun

muppethasakitten · 27/08/2007 17:47

i've never even visited facebook! off to investigate....

foxcub · 27/08/2007 17:53

Sponge - congratulations!!! How does it feel to be married then? Do you feel like an honest woman now? Any gory stories from the big day?

Kitty - glad the kids had a fab time on IoW. Of course now you are home, the weather improves...

I can put people up on 24th Oct as well. We have:

double sofa bed and sofa (all in one room)
Plus an inflatable bed (adult)
2 x kids inflatables - prob Ok for up to 4/5 yrs old

Ooh hope the weather is good in October

spongecake · 27/08/2007 20:18

mossy, i have sent you an invite for facebook

foxy, my wedding was lovely, no gory tales (my sister didn't bother to attend, of course)

i went to a fete today-what is it with buggys, babies and other people? i was on my own as dh was at work and its like i have an invisible cloak on. twice i was queing for tea and was asked if i was in the queue. ffs i was crushed in a line of people in a village hall.. and a really mental woman ticked off the lady at the childrens book stall for not putting the books in a proper order. i rolled my eyes and pulled a face behind her back at a man by the stall when i realised it was her bloke! eek!

diva, have you tried charcoal? that stops farting according to an old wives tale (from the chemist, not the coal bucket)

Piffle · 27/08/2007 20:50

Spongecake congrats on your new married status I'm off to shove charcoal down Dp's throat in that case, smelly oik he is.

I'm hoping to come to Brighton with just Finn and possibly ds1 13 as my helper he has friends in Brighton too.
Will prob take train as well.
Would love to take up offer from you kitty if it pans out that it would be ok? I promise to leave kettlebell at home

Mossy you cyber fickle wench you...
WTF is facebook? hmmm

Finn is back to his usual normal self, think one tooth is about to appear.
Am prob about to start weaning as well... am struggling atm as he gets full up on BM but is still hungry ?

Ahh well beter bog off and fold some washing

Piffle · 27/08/2007 20:52

kitty or foxy I meant

divastrop · 27/08/2007 21:21

sponge-try standing in a queue with a double buggy.thats fun-not.the amount of old women ive had a go at for queue jumping during PMT week !

would charcoal make the constipation worse?i have to take lactulose for the constipation(not that it works on these ad's,i think i need to launch a nuclear misile up there)which makes me fart...do you remember the joys of lactulose from pregnancy, foxy?

i am going to see if i can get a dr's appointment tomorrow.i think im just going to ask for a sex change and be done with it.no periods,no PMT,i wouldnt worry about my weight and i'd be convinced im god's gift no matter what.AND i would always be right.sounds like heaven.

foxcub · 27/08/2007 21:42

Sponge - PMSL at you realising that bloke was attached to the woman you were taking the P out of!!

Piffle (or anyone else) - I live in west London but its only 1hr 15 mins from Brighton and I'll have 3 spare seats in my car - so in other words I can offer lift back to London and beds ......
