sazzy is Elliott still waking up? We had a rotten night last night. DD woke at 1.30, 2.30, 4.30, 6 ish and 8ish (then surfaced at 9.30) having not gone off until 11.30pm. I am shattered! Needless to say she is now asleep

foxcub · 20/08/2007 11:35

I'm shattered too

Lodger is away so I promised myself a big lie in but blasted delivery man woke me early and now I can't get Monti off to sleep.

Have parked DS1 and DD in front of "March of the Penguins" dvd so they'd better not disturb me

Rosy have a wonderful rollick in Donegal

foxcub · 20/08/2007 11:37

Shall we do a straw poll:

how often does your baby wake at night - normally?

Monti: 1am, 4am, 7am approx

anyone else???

Piffle · 20/08/2007 13:56

Could poss do a half term semi holiday I guess but dd's birthday is the 22nd and as it is her 1st school yr am wanting to do a proper party - infact she is fair demanding one

So could think about that

Waking
Finn is usually feeding at 7.30 8.30 10.30
4am and up between 7 and 8

However he has several times slept through from 10pm til 6am
And conversely of late a few times he has woken almost hourly.

Couple with dd doing her I miss My daddy 3am crying sessions, am quite tired as well...

plus dp is up at 5.45 leaving at 6.30am which if Finn is feeding then completely piddles on my putting him back down - if there is no distractions he will settle...

muppethasakitten · 20/08/2007 14:14

foxy - I don't even want to examine how often Samuel wakes in the night - it is one long feedathon with him unable to get back to sleep unless he is plugged in. By 4am it is basically feed him constantly or get up

On the bright side I got some lovely shoes in the sale and a gorgeous dress which has an empire line and hides a multitude of sins.

kiwibella · 20/08/2007 17:51

see... perfect Muppet!! Bet u feel brighter

Kate doesnt wake at night

sorry to hear about your babies disturbing your beauty sleep tho

divastrop · 20/08/2007 20:30

muppet-link pleaseyou know we are all nosey !

i typed a long post last night but the internet died on my just as i was posting it

i would have invited you all to my wedding if it were going to be a posh,sit-down meal type 'do',but i wouldnt expect people to come from far and wide for a registry office-buffet/disco in pub function room finishing at 6 pm.

Elsie sleeps all night also[touch wood]apart from when she gets woken by fecking seagulls between 4+5am.i think i may be needing a firearms licence soon.and a permit to supply meat to the kebab shops

dp has given me his cold/throat infection.well, its trying to attack me but my body is fighting it and i feel like poo

sazzybee · 20/08/2007 21:33

Elliot went 7pm till 5.30am then fed and went back to sleep till 9am. Phew Thank f**k my boy is back. I'm sorry that some of you have night waking regularly though I think I had got used to him sleeping well so it was a bit of shock. I am quite mean to him though - I refused to feed him on Saturday night because I know he's perfectly capable of going through the night. I'm a bully mum

I can do half term

Oh and my hair is falling out in great bloody handfuls I thought it would start falling out the minute I gave birth so I'd sort of forgotten about it. The back of the seat in the car is covered

And yes we want pix muppet!

Piffle · 20/08/2007 22:41

sazzy god hope finn really is Elliots twin tonight then

He has been poppet all day as has his big sis.
A good day

Right off to feed the little tyke and then sleeeeeeeeeeeeep

hope all is well am truly of those on holidays.
What's one of them then huh?

eidsvold · 20/08/2007 22:53

glad to see some are still waking. Dd3 has been very unsettled the last two nights. MAd - I am soooo tired!!!!

Better scoot - time for school. Get two monkeys dressed and sorted. Will read more and respond better later

Mossy · 21/08/2007 09:13

Morning all, long time no post, been so busy trying to sort Birmingham and the wedding and then coming back and trying to sort dh who is still off work...

Just scan read through the messages...

Goodness only knows how many times Bertie wakes in the night. Sometimes I don't even realise he's woken, he's like a little snuffly truffle-hunting piggy, sniffs me out and attaches himself, and sometimes he wakes and gets confused and gives me a love bite on the wrong bit of the boob.

But I actually find I get a reasonable amount of sleep as I wake when he does and go back to sleep almost straight away.

Foxy I feel I have been taunting you with my magazine... have finally sent it, I didn't have an envelope it fitted in after all that! So you should have it today or tomorrow. Sorry!!

Diva where is your wedding? I'll crash!

Sazzy could Elliot be teething? Bertie sometimes does that and I think he's teething.

Right, everyone else hope you have a gorgeous day... those of you off on hols I am but hopeyou have fab times!!!

evenhope · 21/08/2007 10:30

Kitty is on living 2 right now!!!!!

foxcub · 21/08/2007 11:00

Oh pants I missed Kitty and we don't have that channel anyway

Mossy thanks for sending that mag BTW which position are you sleeping in when Bertie latches on at night? R U in a special "BF at night position"? or just asleep any old how? I would be keen for Monti to do this, as I am deserately tired, but not sue how to ensure he doesn't just latch onto the same side each time etc...

well its really greay and crappo outside again - yes it does feel like October

I have realised I am due to return to work in 4 weeks and am getting cold feet. The whole idea of expressing ast work fills me with anxiety and Monti still seems so younf and dependent on me - specially for milk

I could string it out longer but that would mean getting into debt

foxcub · 21/08/2007 11:00

...or rather more debt

LunarSea · 21/08/2007 11:08

fox - Toby does the self latching at night thing too. I just sleep on my side, with his head on my elbow, and once a night when he's woken me up enough to think about it I swap sides.

LunarSea · 21/08/2007 11:14

Sent my email to work today confirming that I'll be going back in just under 5 weeks Oh well at least I've got enough holiday for it only to be 3 days a week until at least Christmas. And if it's occasionally necessary to do the odd extra day (which knowing them it will be) then hopefully I'll be able to drag that out until after the February half term next year. At least on the upside for the first month or two I won't have to pay any tax as there's six months worth of this year's tax allowance to catch up on. And I've got enough nursery vouchers saved (didn't stop them when ds1 started school as was already expecting Toby) to not actually have to pay out any cash for nursery for a while either.

foxcub · 21/08/2007 11:14

Lunar aww that counds cute Does he have his head on your elbow all night, or do you just pop him on your elbow when he stirs?

foxcub · 21/08/2007 11:22

Lunar - that's a good point about the tax

I'm planning to work 4 days, one being at home. With the accrued a/l that would be 3 days (2 in office 1 at home). Oh happy days!!!

How are you feeling about returning to work Lunar?

I'm feeling a bit daunted - specially as I want to express milk there and that's all a bit daunting. When are you returning again?

evenhope · 21/08/2007 11:23

Kitty I'm really of your garden!

Another diabolical night last night. I lost count of how many times she woke up. Then DS2 came in this morning at 8.50 to say he needed a lift to work- gggrrrr. He is now well aware of how I feel about being woken up so I trust he won't do it again.

All for the purpose DD was still sleeping soundly at 11 am. I've had to wake her up so DH can go to bed..

divastrop · 21/08/2007 11:26

mossy-its at barrow registry office(which is a 30 second walk from my house).did you have a nice time?

i want my dress to arrive so i can try it on.i hate waiting!

all this talk of snuggling with babies...mine isnt even in the room with me anymore.not that i mind,it just seems to go so quick.

LunarSea · 21/08/2007 13:02

foxcub - if I didn't need to go back financially I'd be happy not to. I guess part-time would be the best option, but my company doesn't have any part time workers, so that's a non starter. And to go anywhere else would probably mean half the hours for only a quarter the money, so that's out too. But on the plus side I can at least work from home a lot of the time and be flexible enough re hours to still be able to take ds1 to school/have the odd hour out for after school activities/school performances, etc.

Piffle · 21/08/2007 14:16

I've decided Finn is rooming with me until he gives up night feeding
No way am I getting out of bed for feeds!
Lazy mama

codyryley · 21/08/2007 14:20

hi everyone, not sure if im in the right place but i just joined up so am looking for ppl to chat with!!

foxcub · 21/08/2007 15:54

If so, welcome how old is s/he and how is it going?
