hello

i went to the IOW for my school trip thingy in the 4th year juniors(when i was 11)its a lovely place.

sazzy-hope things improve soon.

Elsie had her first night in the room with dd2 last night.she was fine apart from waking at 5am(bloody seagulls).i just gave her her dummy and told her to go back to sleep.

she drank 11oz of milk in one go before she went to bed tonight.i think shes going to be needing more solids but i dont know what to give her.anytime ive tried offering her anything that isnt fruit she wont eat it,apart from baby rice made with cows milk.she will eat fromage frais but they seem to give her a tummy ache.

evenhope · 18/08/2007 21:19

Had a scary experience this eve. I was trying to establish what shape my face is and couldn't find anything to hold back my hair so sprayed it back flat with hairspray. Came back in the room and DD (in her chair) was starting to whine. Picked her up and sat her on my lap and she screamed absolutely hysterically. I've never seen her like it. Her eyes were screwed shut and she had tears streaming down both cheeks. She was bright red and screaming like a siren.

Offered her the breast- screaming got worse. In desperation went to the bathroom put her on the floor and washed off the hairspray in the sink. Turned round and she'd got hold of a plastic bag (thanks DS) and had it over her face . Grabbed it off her and she screamed even louder.

All stopped when we got back into the room so assume it must have been the hairspray. Really thought she must be hurt.

Now she's back to her usual sunny little self and sucking my lip.

evenhope · 18/08/2007 22:48

diva thanks for your comments on the evil thread

foxcub · 18/08/2007 23:08

Evenhope it was probably the smell - I remember reading of a similar incident by a Mum who put perfume on then tried to BF her Baby, who went berserk. Took her some moments to work out it was the scent, so she washed it off

Rosylily · 19/08/2007 08:30

I instinctively didn't wear any perfume for ages. And when I did one day Hasan did not like it one bit. Remember we were all looking forward to sniffing our newborns?
And I still sniff Hasan loads.
We take it for granted but obviously the whole smell thing is important.

I have been feeding Hasan all night and when I wasn't feeding I had to resettle ds2 and then later dd. I feel as if I had no sleep and I feel really rough today.
Hasan is still not interested in solids or a bottle...I'm struggling now. I'll just have to persevere though.

foxcub · 19/08/2007 12:56

Rosy I still sniff Monti too. He usually smells like a mixture of sick and urine

But he's my smelly monster and I love him!

He is now on: small breakfast, small lunch (half a pot of Plums organic baby food) and the other hald for supper. He's back down to 3 hourly feeds (he'd gone up to 2 hourly which was killing me)

foxcub · 19/08/2007 12:58

We've just bought the Dcs one of these:

sazzybee · 19/08/2007 13:37

Wow fox - that looks ace!

evenhope - you were trying to establish what shape your face was?! Care to elaborate?

We had a slightly better night last night in that elliot didn't feed between 11pm and 7am. He woke up at 2 and 4 but went straight back to sleep again. I tried giving him some banana today but he wasn't interested so I too am going to have to persevere with the bfing. He does seem to have calmed down a bit though so hopefully it was just a blip.

So Brighton update:
sazzybee - not 22-23
evenhope - not 27-31

I have a feeling this is going to be very difficult to organise before the schools go back

Would it be possible to do on a school day or is that just out of the question for those of you who have to get back to collect DCs?

foxcub · 19/08/2007 16:18

Or how about a Saturday???

1ast or 2nd Saturday in Sept??

discuss...

Sazzy I'm glad its calming down a bit.

I just gave Monti a taste of Choc ice cream and he cried when I took the spoon away (takes after his mother )

Guess what? He just sat up!!! Not for very long, but it was a definate sitting up

evenhope · 19/08/2007 18:13

That looks good fox. I always wanted to get ours something like that but when we had the room we didn't have the money. Mind you I've just seen this

Re face shape... There was another thread with a link to hairstyles... My hair has been the same for a while and it's boring and doesn't suit me but I can't be doing with blowdrying and "products" so I'm a bit stuck. Anyone else losing hair by the handful? (helped by someone grabbing at it)

I could do a Saturday but the 1st one in Sept would be pushing it as we don't get home till late on the Friday.

foxcub · 19/08/2007 18:20

£££££!!!!

kiwibella · 19/08/2007 21:03

I'll be back at work when school goes back on the 3rd!! I can't do Saturday's either. Is it silly to go a bit further forward and put a date in the October half term now?

I love your playhouse for the dc's Foxy. It's fab... and I bet it won't be long before there are sleep-overs in the garden.

Wowee... the milestones are certainly starting to happen with these littlies. It is lovely to read about them all.

divastrop · 19/08/2007 21:14

october half term?

i know, why dont you all come to my weddingyou could all meet up at my mum's and inform my uncle he is now taking x number of people and you have hired a strech limo for him to drive.im sure they wouldnt mind

evenhope-im bored with my hair as well but dont have the time to blowdry/straighten it so i just have to keep it long enough to tie back.

am going to get it coloured properly for the wedding though,as its peroxide blonde at the front and dark blonde at the back, due to bad home-dye jobs and the sun.

fox-that house looks great.i'd be hard pushed to fit a picnic bench in my back yard.you could probably buy a flat round here for the price of that pirate ship

foxcub · 19/08/2007 21:23

OK who could do October half term then?

We're meant to be going to Barcelona that week, but I have just blown the holiday money on a playhouse!

Diva

I ain't seen a party in soooo long I'd bite your hand off!!!!

I really want to meet up with at least one fellow March goer...

Rosylily · 19/08/2007 21:36

Yep, Evenhope my hair is coming out loads with the help of little hands too
My hair is a bit of a disaster, I cut it thoroughly myself.
I'm uncomfortable at my weight and I constantly have dark shadows and look pretty awful...Today I walked to the shops and caught a glimpse of my reflection and realised that my t -shirt was on inside out ooh, I've really let myself go!

Fox that looks super, I'd love one of those for my beasties The pirate ship I'll buy if I ever do and win the lottery!

Aww, I would love to be meeting up in Brighton too I want to see lots of piccys well!

kiwibella · 19/08/2007 22:00

Rosylily · 20/08/2007 07:39

I'm a tramp.

muppethasakitten · 20/08/2007 08:46

I'm off to shops this morning to buy outfit for our wedding we are going to in Italy in September.
None of my old posh things fit me.

I hate my bum

I hate my tummy

I think I should just buy a Cath Kidston tent and be done with it...

And yes evenhope and rosy, my hair too is still falling out like mad. Luckily i have enough to spare but it's bloody alarming every morning looking at my pillow.

Rosylily · 20/08/2007 09:26

Muppet, you never know, you might get something lovely! Last time I was post pregnant and fat, I got a lovely outfit in tkmax which made me look good!

This morning I have to take the children, for injections dd -mmr booster {anxious emoticon} and Hasan jabs number 3. Not really a fun way to spend the morning.

But this afternoon I'm off to Donegal caravaning for 11 days, so you lot will be getting some peace from my whittering

kiwibella · 20/08/2007 09:40

peace?? Rosy, your adventures keep me going . Have a fantabulous time camping. I'd say that I am jealous but, after looking out the window at the shitty weather, I'm not.

Stinking MissE has been waiting to go to the spy exhibition at the Science museum (with another family) and today's the day. She is sleeping so I don't know whether to leave her be and say "it's your own fault" when she rises or get out there and get it done. Home is safest territory for Kate - she is so unsettled when we go out.

kiwibella · 20/08/2007 09:40

have fun shopping Muppet!! Can't wait to hear about all your exciting purchases .
