Hello everyone [waves].

This is a quicky as I'm off to Dublin tomorrow and am completely not organised yet. Just trying to do online insurance which for some reason is being a pita and not working. I'm starting to poo my pants about taking DS on the plane just cos of the whole potential for things to be difficult. I was going to convert the pram over to a pushchair this week but haven't had time, and don't want to do it now for fear of freaking DS out on a day when he will have a lot of new experiences to cope with anyway. I also have to get the train to the airport as DP doesn't drive and I don't want to take the car because of the expense of parking - already paid way too much for flight because I left it so late ! I was going to text one of my premmie mums and see if she could give me a lift but felt embarrassed to ask at such late notice and everyone else I know is obviously in work in the middle of the day.

Better go. Be back next week, hope you all have a good weekend. anyone else think it felt rather autumnal today despite the sunshine? How depressing - no summer and early cooling... oh well! At least we haven't had to worry about the babes overheating, have we?

lucielu · 17/08/2007 00:02

Hi everyone, just popped on to see how everyone is doing. Don't think I've looked since Alfie was about 6 weeks old and now our little ones are nearly half a year old! scarey or what? where does the time go?

Well Alfie is on 3 meals a day with pud! Little porker! He was 22 weeks old on wednesday had him weighed today and he has doubled his birth weight now a hefty 18lb 4oz! I started weaning him 4 weeks ago as he had started waking up twice and downing 9 oz bottles! since weaning he wakes once at 4am but the past 3 nights I've been able to get him back off to sleep with his dummy(thank god for them best invention ever!)

I weaned my other 2 girls at 14 weeks and they are still alive and not allergic to any thing so i went for it with Alfie he loves it!

Piffle just to let you know, I live in Leighton Buzzard which is about 20 mins from Luton and it's really quite nice. My girls go to a really lovely school which they love. In fact all the schools around here have got a really good rep! I was absolutely gutted when we had to move here from London 5 years ago with my hubbys job, but I love it now and have made some really good friends. It is scarey though, moving starting all over again.

It's lovely to see how everyone is getting on, I'm going to check out facebook too. probably won't manage to post again for ages again, going back to work as childminder in a couple of weeks, but will still check in to see how everyone is getting on.
Good luck to you all with the next mad crazy stage when the little sweeties get on the move

eidsvold · 17/08/2007 04:40

have read but not taken in all I have read - dd3 slept through the night last night - 1st time. I did feed her as I went to bed cause I was worried she was so quiet - and she did not stir until 5am !!!! yeh!!

2nd lot of jabs yesterday - we are so out of whack with timing due to illness around us. Worry of Bad flu at the moment - hoping none of the older two bring it home or even dh for that matter. Too late for flu jabs and itis dangerous for dd1 with her heart condition so just have to be hyper vigilant. A few tears but once she had a cuddle and a feed she was fine.

Dd3 has rolled once and I think she gave herself a fright and we have not seen it since. She is just growing and growing!! her chuckles just make you burst out laughing. She seems very canny!

Rosylily · 17/08/2007 08:00

Hi whomping! It's about 2 hours drive from Youghal, was just mad thinking though, I ain't moving!

Diva Whomping is a woman but if she'd have been a man she would have been a sexy one who I'd definately have the hots for
I'm ok, think I'm a bit hormonal. Frustrated with dh. I'm not sure if he really doesn't want me with him or if he knows how screwed up I get about moving and would rather things didn't change. We don't communicate well at all.

Eidsvold congratulation on the sleep through! That's great and hopefully the first of many!

Callie, I flew with my three little ones last week. It was fine, I hope it goes ok for you and you have a fabulous time in Dublin!

Lucielu hi Good to hear how you are getting on. Light years ahead of me with the weaning.

Amie Hasan does doggy paddle a bit too

Sazzy, I'll be interested in your thread, see what people think. Hasan has been unsettled too with all the biting maybe this is how they get as they start needing solids?

Piffle · 17/08/2007 09:41

Oh Eids v jealous at your sleep
Had horror night last night - Finn every 1.5 hrs feeding, dd was up as she had not seen her daddy for 3 days (out the door at 6.30 home at 8pm) and she was just crying for him, so at least he had to get out and not me but it is ripping our hearts out at the moment. We are arguing a lot.

Will talk over the weekend I guess - ironically as the kitchen needs redoing here we cannot afford to move for at least 6 mths.

Sigh - rock hard place

Hope callie has a lovely holiday

Sazzy think Finn and Elliot have psychic connnection, Finn also very fussy on and off, arms flailing think it is teething.

Am seriously thinking about weaning now, want to hold off - have been spoon feeding him breastmilk and he digs the whole idea big time....

AmieR · 17/08/2007 10:06

Hope things work out piffle, I know how things can get, as its just kind of what we've just been working through. Its not a nice place to be at.

I hope Joseph figures out how to roll from back to front soon, 4 times during the night he'd rolled over and got stuck and started to wail, and he managed to turn his mobile on, which scared the living daylights out of DH and I! But Joseph seemed to think it was great fun.

think he's past his bouncing cradle now as all he tries to do when he's in it is sit up straight.

Splitting headache and back ache today... oh joy, Joe's beached again.

Piffle · 17/08/2007 10:08

finn rolls only from back to front, he loves being on his tummy since day one.
He can sit up now propped up by hiw own hands, of course promptly started moving forward until he was on his tummy.
If I recall (hazy form ds1 now 13) this is how they start to crawl?
DD never did this as due to low muscle tone she could not sit and commando crawled...
Am seriously scared now

AmieR · 17/08/2007 10:15

sorry... I meant from tumm to his back.

He wants to crawl I think by his movement, his butt comes up in the air and he pedals with his feet, but he seems a bit top heavy and weighed down by his bonce!

foxcub · 17/08/2007 11:04

Hiya

My God I am knacekered!!

Rosy - love that hostel and I would very much like to sleep in one of those caravans. Funnily enough I fancy the idea of running a B&B! (you mind reader!). Is DH's health OK now? Sounds like you need to have a heart to heart over a bottle of wine to me. When are you seeing him again? You should air some of those issues with him you know (I know men hate talking - my DH just walks off when I try and talk)

PMSL at the self cut fringe Muppet

Sazzy - he may be hungry? I'm not an expert but Monti started feeding 2 hourly and fussing - did it for 4 weeks before I gave in and he's more content with food in his tum.

I've reduced DS2's weaning foods from 3 meals a day back to 2, as my boobs weren't adjusting v well - so last night he was back to waking me 2 hourly - screaming his head off (poor me and poor lodger who probably was regretting moving here). He woke up again this morning howling - only to be subdued by a spoonful of infant Nurofen and a carton of Little Stars yogurt!

He is a very determined little thing

BTW I put some trousers on I'd washed and found 2 £10 notes in the pocket - all crisp and clean from the washing machine and clearly having benefitted from their excursion into fabbric conditioner Very relieved they didn't dissolve!

divastrop · 17/08/2007 11:20

im having a blonde day,i think.i read amies post about joe turing his moblie on and thought 'why on earth has a baby got a mobile phone?'

lucielu-good to hear from you.3 meals a day

i think all my others were on 3 meals a day by this age.Elsie was having 2 but she seemed more unsettled at night after having a meal at teatime so im just giving her dinner for now.

the dress has been ordered, hopefully it will arrive just as af is finishing,as i am in the middle of PMT week atm and my tummy is huge.i know i will want to try it on straight away so i need my tum to be flat-ish.

Diva -- ooh its so exciting waiting for your - wish I was getting married all over again! Are you going to wear your hair in a medieval type style on the day?

kiwibella · 17/08/2007 13:19

piffle... lots of lub for your chat with hubs on the weekend.

Yay, Diva... it's so exciting following your wedding news. Will u try on your dress with your dp watching??

Great to see u back Rosy... hope you can figure out what the best thing to do for your family is.

B&B is part of our great plan too (when we eventually return to NZ). We try to stay in them when we go away and make mental notes about what we like .

Have a great holiday Kitty. I don't imagine that it is much of a break with your kiddliwinks still needing you but a change of scenery will be refreshing.

Hope everyone is well and has exciting plans for the weekend.

LunarSea · 18/08/2007 07:27

Amie - well spotted!

Rosylily · 18/08/2007 08:58

I'm going to the IOW from 4th sept to 10th

(not really, just want to join in the relay )

It's rotten weather here, I need a good drying day [fume] I have a load of packing to do again. I'm really looking forward to Donegal but the packing and travelling -I'm sick of. (too lazy) My sis arrived here last night just before her journey to Donegal and the car was bunged to the gills and she hadn't picked her dh up yet and there was no room for him I guess he had to repack the car when she arrived.

Happy holidays Kitty! I hope you manage to enjoy it and get some breaks.

foxcub · 18/08/2007 09:42

Rosy - LOL at your sis not leaving room for her DH!

sazzybee · 18/08/2007 12:41

Hello all

Well things are slightly better but not loads. I did post a thread in bfing which is quite interesting and someone has posted one in weaning which seems to be about the same sort of problem. I think I'm just going to have to ride it out. Getting woken up every 2.5 hours though is a bit grim. My sister's coming over today with her very pg friend and I'm not a very good ad for the joys of motherhood today

Piffle and rosy - don't know how you cope with your DPs away all the time. Must be dreadful And rosy I can't tell you how long it takes me to get me and Elliot ready just for an overnight stay at my parents and I always forget something important too. Piffle - I think finn and elliot are secret twins - they look quite alike too

Hope you all have lovely hols in the IoW. I love it there.

I was looking forward to going to Brighton but it looks like everyone is busy on different days.

Perhaps if we all put down what days we can make, then we might find one that works for nearly everyone?

sazzybee and elliot - any day

evenhope · 18/08/2007 13:33

sazzy I saw your post on one of the other threads. Mine has started waking up at intervals throughout the night as well. We're also getting a lot of back arching and screeching- seems to be a combination of teething (none yet) and wind!

As for Brighton, we're away 27 to 31 Aug but free before and after

AmieR · 18/08/2007 17:43

Lunar - Toby seemed to be enjoying the attention!
