mabel1973 · 13/10/2007 10:03

hi feeling much better now thanks.

Cori - DS2 plays with all Ds1's hot wheels and they have really small bits on them, but what can you do, as long as you are vigilant with them and make sure they can't pull any of the bits off, i think it's ok.

Sorry to hear about your dilemma with DH. I don't know what to suggest, maybe when your DC's are a little bit older he might come round, it is still early days.
We always said we'd have more than 2, but now things are going really well with our business, we are hoping that by january 2009 DH will be able to work part time in his 'day job' so we can start to make the leap to the business being full time, unfortunately this will mean tightening our belts and possibly me going to work part time, do another baby just doesn't fit into the plan, so not sure what will happen really, I am 34 now, so don't want to leave it too much longer.

Coriander73 · 13/10/2007 16:07

Understand about the age..I too am 34 & if we do go for it I don't want to leave it much longer. DH just said that I only wont 3 because a good friend of mine is planning her 3rd..to which I replied rubbish! Hand on heart that has nothing to do with it. I too am very surprised that I have these feelings...I just want to do it! Being at home has changed so many things & as I can't see myself working for a while feel that it's an ideal opportunity...& just the fact that I love children!

BTW..where is HH these days? I know she had her Aussie trip but I thought that was September??

compo · 14/10/2007 18:34

blimey I can't remember who HH is, or did she used to be CW?
Cori - don't dh's say some patronising things at times!! As if you'd want another just cos 'her down the road' has three!! Honestly what are men like?!

Coriander73 · 15/10/2007 11:22

She used to be CM then changed..has two DS...part time solicitor I think?!

Hmmm..still broody but have the most god awful sore boobs todays - af due on Thursday or could be any time from today as since J was born I've been having some 25 day cycles which is really bizzare (for me that is!)

zmandaz · 15/10/2007 19:00

Has anyone else's LO had a reaction to the MMR jab? DD had her MMR and menengitis jabs on Friday. They said that there's a 10 day incubation period and that after that she might be out of sorts and have slight rash and raised glands in the neck, but since she had the jab she's ultra sensitive to everything and cries loads which is really unusual for her. She's also really clumsy at the moment and keeps walking into things and tripping over and she's a bit off her food. Just wondered if jabs cause this sort of thing?

I'm going to buy the ELC garage for DD for Christmas. She loves playing with the one at the toddler group we go to so I think she'll like it. I'm really looking forward to seeing how much of it she takes in this year. She's already seen some sparkly lights and decorations in a couple of shops we went into today and she looked pretty mesmerised. I'm getting very excited already!

Myrtle1 · 19/10/2007 18:24

zmndaz, DS hasn't had the MMR yet. I hope your DD is feeling better now

Girl at work announced she was pregnant today and I felt really envious, but I hadn't been feeling broody before now. Anyone else broody at the moment or thinking of trying again?

Coriander73 · 22/10/2007 19:03

Funny you should say that Myrtle....!! I have been saying how broody I've been for the past couple of months or so. DH TOTALLY against the idea of number three so quite hard to even broach the suject. This month for the first time in my life I was 5 days late coming on. I've always been a strict 28 day cycle kind of girl (although since J I've also had a few 24-25 days ones which was strange). Anyhow, although we've used contraception etc there is always a chance I suppose so to suddenly be counting 28, 29, 30, 31...OMG where is my period was quite nerve wracking even though secretly I wished I was as then we'd be confronted by it & DH would have to accept it.... I did 3 pg tests which were all negative but I had all the signs & have just felt awful (hence no posting for while!!!). Then this morning af arrived......but it's talking a while to get going (sorry if TMI) & I still feel really odd. DH so so so relived & has again tonight reiterated his desire for no more. I feel rather mixed tbh.

zmandaz..can't help as J has his MMR in two weeks & DD didn't have any side effects..sorry.

zmandaz · 22/10/2007 19:18

Thats ok, thanks anyway. DD is still not 100%. She's very sensitive to noise and cries a lot which is totally unlike her. A couple of friends who's LOs have recently had their MMR have said they've had a reaction too. It's nearly 10 days since she had it so hopefully this stage will pass and she'll be back to her happy self again. I'm soooo broody at the moment. I've told everyone that all I want for Christmas this year is a Canadian rugby playing mountee! You just never know

Myrtle1 · 23/10/2007 09:24

Cori,
My cycles have been shorter too since DS. Used to be 31 days and is now about 25ish. Also last one seemed much lighter than normal but I have been a bit stressed cos still getting pain/bleeding on and off from third degree tear! Have an appointment at hospital about it in Nov
I am still broody but then I start thinking about how exhausting it must be with a toddler and a baby...
DS seems to be teething again I think. He's v dribbly and a little bit grumpy, has been waking in night too.

Coriander73 · 24/10/2007 15:17

Where is everyone??!!!!!!!! Is our thread dying?

Coriander73 · 24/10/2007 17:14

bumping...!!!!

tasha21 · 24/10/2007 17:31

hiya everyone im new. i have a little boy that was born sept 06 ive also had another since altogether 3 boys.

Coriander73 · 24/10/2007 19:22

Welcome tasha! When was the third one born then?!!!

bristols · 24/10/2007 19:43

Hello! Sorry I've been away for so long. Life is just so hectic now a days. I can't use the laptop when DS is around because he just wants to join in. Everything gets pressed and I always end up losing whatever I'm working on... By the time I've got him up to bed, I'm usually too tired to do much other than sort out Mine and DH's dinner and slob out in front of the TV.

The bump is getting bigger (22 weeks now) and the baby had become very active in the past few days. Work is exhausting but I'm still enjoying it. Am going to start mat leave on 28th December. I'm going to have a year off again although I'm not 100% that I'll go back after the second baby is born...

DS is developing physically and in his character every day. He's a very laid back little boy who just takes everything in his stride. He runs around all over the place and can climb the stairs. Very helpful for me! He's becoming more independent. He likes to feed himself and he's becoming a bit more fussy with his food. ATM he won't eat cheese or bread. He'll eat toast though!

He has also taken to refusing to sit down in the bath. Hopefully that'll pass...

He had his MMR on Monday and has seemed happy enough so far.

Hope everyone else is still doing well. I'm sure no news is good news.

Welcome, Tasha

tasha21 · 24/10/2007 20:58

hiya new addition is 8 weeks old born august 30th 7 weeks prem but doing well. my 1 year old has started climbing stairs and there is 3 sets in my house so i have to keep a close eye on him as my 3 year old knows how to open them.

tasha21 · 24/10/2007 21:01

o and my lo has started climbing out of his bath seat and he is so wobbly so he cant have any play time in the bath its a shame because i used to enjoy that time with him

Coriander73 · 25/10/2007 15:01

hi bristols! glad to hear all well with pg!...

DH has rumbled me again with the credit card expenditure...ooppsss....I am getting there (with no income) but it's so so hard..am dreading Christmas: haven't ever not been working so it'll be a challenge to budget! I keep on saying that money doesn't matter but it does sometime doesn't it?!!

Where is HH?!!

JingleBelle · 27/10/2007 21:16

Hi Ladies,
Long time no post, but the thread is a little easier to catch up on these days. Bristols - glad to hear pg is going well and your bump is very active - pg seems so long ago with our LOs doesn't it? DS also went through a phase this week of not wanting to sit down in the bath, but think that might have to do with him moving to a one midday nap instead of a longer morning one and a short catnap in the afternoon, so he has been more tired at bedtime. He sat down and played with his toys this evening though, so hopefully the phase will pass for you too.
I finally have time to log on this weekend, 'cos I'm feeling a little more relaxed as we're off on hols on Monday. My first break from work since going back at the beginning of April - so overdue and so needed. We're off to Australia for 3 weeks for my brother's wedding (and to introduce him face-to-face to DS), so all v. exciting. I just have some last bits to finish up on my laptop tomorrow and then handover call with colleague on Mon and we'll be off - yippee!

I was wondering where HH was too, as I know she was off to Oz and Fiji for her BIL's wedding (I think) and I was particularly keen to hear how the flight went with her DSs. I hope she's okay.

Zmandaz, sorry can't help with jab - DS was due to have his this week, but we put it off as it would only have been 6 days between that and flying. Hope your DD is resuming her usual self.

Cori, hope you and DH reach common ground on your broodiness. I have been postponing all thoughts of broodiness until after our trip, but a couple of my friends are now pregnant with 1st babies now and I think that once we're back, the broodiness is really likely to kick in.

Right, should really be packing and writing my list for last-minute purchases tomorrow.
Jingle xx

tassisssss · 27/10/2007 21:24

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all doing ok.

Cori - sorry to hear you and your dh feel differently about a 3rd. that must be so hard.

Dd is still very nearly walking. She's been doing up to 5 steps for weeks and weeks but then nothing for days! She's very cute and a lot of fun. Has mastered the stairs, and the bumbo and the wee wooden trike. She adores her dollies and loves the wee doll's pram at our toddlers' group so think we'll get her a pram for Christmas.

I have no idea what to get ds (who's 4.5) but keep reminding myself it is only October. Will hopefully be inspired by something soon!

mabel1973 · 30/10/2007 13:46

Hello everyone,
haven't been on for ages again...everytime i come on they change the site, i couldn't find end of the thread all the colours have changed...I was all confused!

Well, here DS2 is now dancing!! doind little twirls and bobbing up and doen, so cute! He is starting to parrot words now of things we see round and about... dog, bird, spider etc. and does a great 'shhh' instead of putting his finger to his lips he puts his finger up his nose and blows a raspberry!

We have had a bit of a difficult time with DS1, he is being quite rough with DS2 and having lots of tantrums, also the potty training that I thought we had cracked regressed last week. However I think it is a lot to do with him trying to show DS2 who's in charge, now that he's muscling in on his stuff.

I went to acollege open day on saturday and am hoping to enroll on a horticulture course starting in september 2008, which is a long way off, but i am still very excited!

Myrtle1 · 30/10/2007 15:05

Hello,
Mabel I know, what has happened to the site, all the writing is black and when you click on the thread title you start at the beginning and not the most recent thread.

We're off to a halloween party today. DS is going to be a spider. I need to pop into town now and see if I can find some black trousers or tights for him to wear under his costume as it only comes to above his knees. Not sure what to do with his head either, maybe I could paint some little spiders on his cheeks

Will post some pics on yahoo site.

Coriander73 · 02/11/2007 15:10

Hello Mabel!

Quite agree this site is pants now! What's with the black & then having to customise it?? Not very good in my opinion.....

Sorry to hear of problems with DS1. DD is getting a little more stroppy now that J is as you put it "muscling in on her turf"...!! J still not walking, just bum shuffling at great speed but has started to pull himself up around the furniture & likes to try & walk when holding your hand!

I think the RHS sounds super! Good to have something for you not matter how far away. I'm (surprisingly) rather enjoying the running club! Have done 3 sessions now & I'm not as bad as I thought I would be.. Off to buy some decent trainers at the weekend!

PS: Not feeling broody at all...but come ovulation I'm sure it'll kick in again!!!!!

tasha21 · 05/11/2007 12:34

bristols · 05/11/2007 12:50

Tasha, My DS only really says 'Hiya' and 'Ta'. I chat to him constantly and am always naming things. I feel that he's a little behind too. I'm not sure whether it's worth worrying about or not!!!

tasha21 · 05/11/2007 13:04

i mentioned it to dp and now hes worried and keeps throwing random words at him my eldest was able to say alot more at his age ill give my health visitor a ring tomorrow need to find out couple of things about lo anyway so ill let you know wat she says.
