Well its one year exactly (hopefully ) since I started the first Due April 2007 ante natal thread. How life has changed in that year, for the better on the whole!

It makes me quite nostalgic to be doing this, as it means it is a full year since finding out I was pregnant with Ffion.

I would like to thank all the ladies on the April 2007 thread for all your support, laughter and general madness which has kept me going on many a rubbish day!! You are an amazing bunch of people and I am really pleased to have shared this journey with you all.

Here's to another fun filled year!!!!!!!

Hello (((waves))) I met oooggs today The boys were a bit on the demanding side but was lovely to meet you and Erin and Jack - he is BIG!!! Oooggs may think I was slightly strange as had been to the totnes show aka glastonbury and appeared soaking wet in wellies and a new change of clothes from sainsburys - it was a complete mud bath and the rain had gone through the boys coats, jumpers and tshirts - the car wouldn't drive across the mud/water and we nearly had to get towed by a tractor but just got out one metre at a time and my car is covered in mud and grass! The field was covered in stuck cars with spinning wheels and mud flying everywhere. Everything is now in grannys washing machine - shoes and all!

We stayed at Jump until 5.30pm! Got our moneys worth - and my nephew (13) simply disappeared into the soft play abyss for hours.

Home now - all bathed - in bed

OMG The Albert. Starting to feel all nostalgic ooh!

Had many a swift half and a packet of peanuts in there.

oooggs · 26/07/2007 20:36

hi octo - I can't find the bottle bag and its contents anyway - must have left it at Jump - will have to ring them tomorrow. Swear I put it under the pushchair ........ going mad . The boys were just normal demanding children (James would have been no better(just younger)) Ernie is a real charmer and smiler.

I am doing this post seperately.

I went to visit MIL at the hospital - she was back in the high dependency unit. I left my nephew in the car with the older two and took ernie in.

I was so shocked - I would not have recognised her It was awful. I am glad I went tho as she was pleased to see ernie - touched his hand - and knew who we were which was good. We only stayed 5 minutes.

She kept saying that she had had enough and was in pain and wanted it to all end.

When I got back to my mums DH rang to say that it could be hours - maybe weeks - but really not very long. DH is in tears at home and I feel so useless - just want to be there to look after him. The cancer has spread through her lymph nodes to her lungs and the tumor she had removed last week is back growing again. They are giving her a drug to try and flush it all out but they don't feel her kidneys or liver will cope and if it does work she will then need to have very intensive chemo to possibly get over the cancer.

I have just rung my SIL - also in tears - we have decided that dh, BIL and FIL need to be alone together but we will be here for them if they need us. I don't know what to say, do or think - dh knows I am there for him but he seems so far away

Pinions · 26/07/2007 20:39

Sounds like you guys had a great day...but I guess from the sounds of it the weather down there is as pants as it is up here!

octo · 26/07/2007 20:40

dh is on his way to Plymouth.

oooggs · 26/07/2007 20:41

oh octo I am so sorry - it must be hard seeing dh and family go through this and not being able to do anything. Glad she recognised you and Ernie and I am sure she appreciated you popping in. Probably best the others stayed in the car, very upsetting

octo · 26/07/2007 20:41

oooggs - didn't see the bag - maybe they picked it up.

oooggs · 26/07/2007 20:42

I hope he has a safe journey

octo · 26/07/2007 20:42

Thanks oooggs

oooggs · 26/07/2007 20:42

no problem - maybe ds1 has put it somewhere will quiz him in the morning

Pinions · 26/07/2007 20:43

Sorry to hear about your news octo. Have been following but haven't really had a chance to comment.

I am sure that you are doing all that you can in such a difficult situation.

WestCountryLass · 26/07/2007 20:44

Ooogs, we are going to Watermove Cove near Ilfracombe. We want to take DS to the Wildlife and Dinosaur Park at Coombe Martin and the campsite is close

geordiemacminx · 26/07/2007 20:45

Thinking about you and your family octo

WestCountryLass · 26/07/2007 20:49

Octo (((hugs)))

There is never really anything you can say at time slike this, but holding the fort and being there (what you are doing) proves what a rock you are and is all you can do and what your DH needs.

When DHs Mum died, DH, his sister and their Dad regrouped and us partners (me and BIL) were on the sidelines but we were there for them once the dust settled and in the days, weeks and months after as a listening ear and shoulder to cry on.

Hang on in there!

WestCountryLass · 26/07/2007 20:50

PS. Did I miss a trip to Jump

oooggs · 26/07/2007 20:50

love North Devon wcl, hope the weather cheers up, I am sick of the rain. We are supposed to be going to Hull next month and dh & ds1 will have to camp in mil's garden as bungalow very very small, may need a boat

oooggs · 26/07/2007 20:51

Jump in Plymouth WCL -= could you have come down?????

octo · 26/07/2007 20:52

wcl - we'll do Jump soon!

Pinions · 26/07/2007 20:53

Oooggs you may need a boat anyway as most of Hull is flooded. .

oooggs · 26/07/2007 20:57

yeah pinions - mil lives in Barton upon Humber so just the otherside of the bridge, don't really want to drag the caravan up there. It has until 16th to dry up

Pinions · 26/07/2007 20:59

OK will send some drying out vibes that way then. I take it DH is from these parts then???

oooggs · 26/07/2007 21:01

nope dh is from Gosport then has been down Plymouth/Saltash way since a young child (another service family) His mum just decided to move up there cos her partner thought it was cheap . My mum comes from Hull and my Dad from Whitby but we are down here cos also service family

oooggs · 26/07/2007 21:02
