i'm just delighted to have feet, not trotters, again!

bumperlicious · 19/07/2007 13:10

Hi TA, how's the little man?

trendaverter · 19/07/2007 13:17

Hello Bumper!

Not sure I want to meet up with you actually, I will feel inadequate, I only have 1 pair of shoes I can be arsed to wear, a pair of grotty trainers. Seeing as all I ever do is walk dog in the mud carrying a baby or cleaning up I see little point in looking pretty.
I am still wearing maternity clothes, I gained so much weight that I went up a size and none of my clothes fit and I can't be arsed to buy new ones.

Otherwise, the little man is goooood, dentinox rules, throw out the infacol. He is virtually wind free, a smiley little bunny who is very interactive and likes cooing and playing (alas, not sleeping) but he does sleep well at night. I am a lucky girl. He grew BIIIGGGG too, gaining about a lb a week atm.
How is your LO?

On another note...FUNNY

bumperlicious · 19/07/2007 13:28

BZ, dd sometime if we are v lucky will go 5.5 hours at night without a feed. I wouldn't wake her in the night.

trendaverter · 19/07/2007 13:34

I second Bumper... I figure if they're hungry, they'll wake YOU...otherwise enjoy it and get some kip yourself!

bumperlicious · 19/07/2007 13:40

in my defense they are only ever cheap shoes! believe me, i wouldn't make anyone feel inadequate! besides i find (& found when i was pg) that you only have to wear a slick of lip gloss and something that isn't trackies for people to think you look good, just because everyone expects you to look like death (& i do under my benefit make up!)

btw DH is bringing me "that book" home from work...just to see what all the fuss is about!

annobal · 19/07/2007 13:42

Mmmn TA, NICE! I'll arm wrestle you for it

BZ, I'm a stickler for routines so would probably have woken her at 10ish, but only so she would do the long part of her sleep after 11.

andiem · 19/07/2007 13:46

bumper don't read the book....... you will be sucked into the cult of routine

Charlie999 · 19/07/2007 13:51

YAYYY - got "the book" new off e-bay for £4 including P&P

Can I assume it is going to change mine and DDs life????

Lilkel - are you getting lots of sleep or the complete opposite? Hope its the former

derlor · 19/07/2007 13:53

hi just dropping in quickly, almost 2pm wake up time
BZ don't worry, she will waken when hungry but i'll obviously second Annobal (due to derlor being a routine queen) i waken Abbie at 10 pm for a feed, she now sleeping through till about 0600 after that, just watch the dry nappy thing though, if it happens regularly then let your HV know.
oh my clever LO has just woken up - right on cue!!!!!! later x

foxybrown · 19/07/2007 14:58

hi derlor! You lucky thing you!

how old was Abbie when you started introducing the routine?

I'm trying to hold off ... but I need routine in my life!! AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

She's only a week old! (Happy Birthday Evie!)

justbeme · 19/07/2007 15:15

Afternoon! Just caught up - phew!
Have named Lo Lucie Mae - only took a week to decide on a name!!

Dug out the sling today and am sitting here with her on my front - she too doesnt like to be put down.

Have had a meeting with my community MW today - she was very about my birth experience and she is the supervisor of the MW who delivered me - so on monday I am to fill out an official complaint form and she is going to speak to the MW concerned. She offered to do me a home birth herself next time round - NEXT TIME ROUND!!!! - I dont think so.........!!

foxybrown · 19/07/2007 15:21

Such a pretty name! Well done Justbeme.

How have you recovered from the birth? Are you feeling OK now?

justbeme · 19/07/2007 15:22

Look at me - Ive spelt it wrong!!
I think we're going to settle on Lucy rather than Lucie - what do you think??

justbeme · 19/07/2007 15:23

Hi Foxy!! - Are you Ok??

Well, I suspect my nether regions will never be the same. Tomorrow I have to see if I can hold going for a no 2 and if not I'm going to have to be refered back to the hospital
So am doing lots of pelvic floors.

foxybrown · 19/07/2007 15:23

I think Lucy is just fine. Simple, straightforward spelling. Its a lovely feminine name.

I'd have had Lucy on my list. Had one not featured in DPs past!!!

foxybrown · 19/07/2007 15:26

oohhh, Owwwww! Good grief, just doing a poo is bad enough, let alone all this. Really feel for you.

Saw a woman at the registry office yesterday with her newborn, she couldn't sit, stand, walk - her face was constantly contorted in pain. I am counting my blessings. I'm lucky just to have piles!

bumperlicious · 19/07/2007 15:28

Arrgghhh I want my life back! I want 2 minutes peace. I want to be able to sleep. I want to be able to go out into the garden without having to heave all kinds of baby paraphenalia out the front door (we live in a flat so not easy access) I want this baby to keep the fucking dummy in her mouth if she bloody wants it and to stop crying if she doesn't. I want to eat the world. I want to sleep (did I say that one already?)...

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/07/2007 15:30

got the book too...so will be boring my poor dh with that instead of real nappies for a while!

bought lots of stuff in borders today, including pressies for the four kiddies parties we have on this week. dh piled it all on the counter, we paid then went back to the car. as we were putting things in the boot, noticed dh was still carrying the two charlie and lola activity packs worth £8 each earmarked for DN and BFs wee girl. He hadn't put them on the counter so we didn't pay for them . major moral dilemma....did we take them back and fess up and be late picking up DS? did we heck

that's the second time i've unwittingly shoplifted since dd was born. I got two feeding bras in bravissimo and wore one home...i handed over the other one and the label for the one I was wearing to the lady on the till, and we were chatting away about babies etc etc. put in my pin and off i went. wasn't till i got home that i realsied she'd only charged for one of the bras...didn't fess up to that one either

i will burn in hell for this i'm sure!

DKMA....i got some tommee tippee soothers in mothercare that are part of their closer to nature range. the base bit is flexible as well..supposed to be more boob loke. DD thinks they're the bees knees and they get spit out less than a regular dummy.

BZ...i'm sure your LO is fine, like everyone said, if she was hungry she would wake up.

Right, i'm off to read my new book!

justbeme · 19/07/2007 15:34

Sleep? whats sleep?
Sorry your having a s* day Bumper, let it all out and have another choccie biccie.

My lovely 75yr old neighbour bought me a punnet of Tescos finest strawberrys and a pot of cream today!! and yesterday another neighbour bought me 2 finest strawberry and cream tarts and a dougnut!!

We need little treats so that we want to carry on. It is all very tiring isnt it??

Ive only walked the dog today - havent done a thing apart from babyness -

foxybrown · 19/07/2007 15:34

Bumper sssshhhhhh honey. Chill. Its aaaaalriiiiight, sssshhhhhh.

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/07/2007 15:35

Hi JBM...i hope you're innards are ok. I had an incontinent moment in the hospital where the wee was just pouring out of me and i couldn't stop it and it was very upsetting and embarrasing (thank heavens i was in a side room though)

Lucy Mae sounds lovely

Is she doing well?

Jamantha · 19/07/2007 15:36

Big trip out toady - got the train up to Oxford. But I am obviously a Bad Mother because I didn't have a sun shade cover for the push chair. Wasn't a problem most of the time, wasn't bright sun and we were in and out of shops, I kept in the shade as much as possible, but walking home from the train station the sun was out very bright, and we were walking straight towards it, so no way of getting into shade. I felt very bad as sun was therefore right onto DD's face Was only about 10 mins like this but kept worrying about effects of sun on such delicate young skin and was getting paranoid that she'll have sunburn.

Am exhausted now by the way, but proud that we achieved a real trip out - nearly 5 hours away from the house. And BF in Starbucks

daisyandbabybootoo · 19/07/2007 15:36

oh, lilkel....are you just extra tired or bored with our company?

justbeme · 19/07/2007 15:37

Yes thanks Daisy - she didnt lose any birth weight - put on - Ive got gold top in my norks!!
