That sounds like an awful journey TA, and sorry your LO hasn't been so well. Glad he's more settled now, and hope it continues.

Mine woke for feed at 3 this morning, fed for nearly 20mins, then wouldn't sleep, seemed to be in pain with wind again. I cuddled and soothed her for as long as I could, and at 4.10 had to ask DH to help. We then muddled through wind and wet nappies and hiccups between us until 5.15, when she fell asleep - bliss ! - until 5.45 She had some ffod, but was very half-hearted about it, yet kept making her hungry noise and wouldn't settle, infact crying just kept getting worse. We were both getting frustrated and eventually at 7 I just got dressed, put her (somehow managed not to throw her ) in the pushchair and marched off down the road. Decided that if I wasn't allowed to sleep I'd at least get some fresh air. Within about 2 minutes she was fast asleep. So we had a 20 minute walk, and she's still sleeping in the push chair (it's a completely lie flat, so decided she'd be OK in there rather than disturbing her) and I've made DH's lunch, fed teh cat, had breakfast, washed yesterday's nappies and had a snooze on the sofa. I guess she'll wake soon (have heard a couple of murmers as I type) for next feed, and just keep reminding myself that it's now a new day, and she could be a dream baby all day today . Hope to get some more sleep, and will try to have a proper trip out today. Failed the past 2 days and am beginning to get cabin fever.

annobal · 18/07/2007 10:17

Yawn Just woken up. I could get used to this with DH being off work .

TA that sounds like a horrible journey - poor you.

Naturopath am very of your 10.30 sleep in. Enjoy it!

We're going out to lunch today - very excited (but that could be at the prospect of a shower).

Bumper, sorry you're having so many problems with bf. Believe me that it DOES get easier, hang in there.

naturopath · 18/07/2007 10:24

Jamantha, that sounds like my life, only at dif. times of day. The only reason he sleeps late in the morning (after several feeds of course!) is bc he only goes to sleep at around 10 or 11 pm (if we're lucky!)

My late reply is due to DS only napping for 10 mins.. then waking up, me finding a wet patch on his babygrow, I change him, he wees all over me, I give him a bath in the sink, then a massage with olive oli (which he wasn't too convinced about), change and feed.. now back in his moses basket - hooray!

I'm off for a shower.. didn't manage on yesterday (but don't tell anyone)

RedFraggle · 18/07/2007 10:28

Hi everyone,
I'm feeling quite a bit better today. DS actually slept for 5 hours in one go on Monday night and I felt much better. Then DD was in nursery yesterday so I stayed in bed with DS feeding him as I dozed. Feeding laying down is a marvel isn't it!?
I met some friends for lunch and then slobbed on the sofa in the afternoon - bliss! Thanks for the picture Daisy, happy memories! Unfortunately I only have freeview so no fraggle rock for me . might have to buy the dvd for DD

i can totally relate to the floppy boobs comments on here, I think DS has been having another mad growth spurt as it had all settled down last week, then over the weekedn he just went boob crazy! I alternate between that and rock hard boobs when he doesn't feed for three hours. I woke up in a soggy patch this morning due to a leaky left boob - urgh.

I have been hitting the wine a bit too, has to be done - 9 months without any booze is enough to drive me mad. Can't say as it has helped DS to sleep any better though... Once I stop BF I will be going out for a wild night out with the girls!! It will be a cheap night for me as I have lost my stamina!
I am going out to a party on Friday night with DH, I am dreading it though as I still have a rather flobby tummy. I bougt some of those SPanx power panties but they don't make a big difference. I think I was expecting a miracle! they haven't made me look like Gwyneth Paltrow - that's for sure!
Will just have to brave it out...

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 10:58

Good Morning lovelis

Red...glad you're feeling a bit more human like (and less like a frazzled fraggle), a bit of rest/sleep does the world of good.

TA....did wonder where you were. Glad the wee mans poos are back to normal. Ds got pretty dehydrated once when I was still BF (again stuck in a hot car for 2 hours (no air con)) and iirc he fed and fed and fed for about 8 hours. Yup , its floppy boob central here at the moment.

I was reading a thread the other day about really saggy and wonky boobs from LO preferring one side over the other...so make sure all you BFs that you do alternate!

Ooops DD woken up again.

dm1 · 18/07/2007 11:39

We had some friends over last night so I tried a glass of champers (just for research purposes) and she slept for 4 and a half hours! - brilliant for us. May have to use it medicinally....
However friends did not leave til 2.40am!!!
Being completely anti-social and with her not settling every time I tried to leave her I went to feed her at half midnight, fell asleep leaving them downstairs with dh - and now feel really bad.
She then vomited everything up at 7.30am so maybe she doesn't like champagne. I don't think it was cos she was too full up - don't know why she puked, maybe she felt the bed covers needed a change! Anyone else suffer from the odd vomit? - she possets all the time but has a vomit every now and then....
Daisy - I need routine too, acan you send it on to me when you've finished. ONly prob is I want to be able to go out and socalise whenever instead of waiting for her to wake up or watching the baby monitor.Maybe I'm too selfish to be a mum......actually that was one of my main worries when i was preggers.

derlor · 18/07/2007 11:48

morning all,
look away now if you had a bad night with your LO!!!!

my beautiful baby slept from 11pm till.........0630 then back to sleep fron 0700-0830. lovely jubley . ssshhhhh she's down for her linchtime nap now

Derlor skips off singing merrilly, picks up pace and is now running from all the sleep deprived mummies who are coming to punch her lights out> XXX

RedFraggle · 18/07/2007 11:51

Grr Derlor! I am very of all that sleep! How old is your LO?

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 11:58

younger than ours RF

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 12:00

dm1 we all have thoughts like that, it'll pass.

Right Mrs D.....list your routine, step by step, or I'm gonna come up to Scotland and drag it out of you

or do we just need to buy THAT BOOK?

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 12:01

just been reading Leati's thread

I see you couldn't resist either RF!

Charlie999 · 18/07/2007 12:09

Morning All - or is it afternoon now

Went for our 6 week check this morning - wasn't quite as disorganised as your surgery Daisy - but they didn't do very much. DD weighs 8lb 13oz now - she's put on 1lb in two weeks .

I really don't like my GP and DD managed to do a squitty poo on his table when I took her nappy off - she stunk and he wasn't impressed

Another look away now moment for sleep deprived ladies - my DD slept from 10pm until 5.15am . Don't have a routine - just more luck than judgement. Don't know if we'll manage that one again!

DM1 - I don't have a "sicky" baby but the other night she projectile vomited all over the clean bedsheets and then when I changed a dirty nappy in the dark, I got poo over them as well . Just what you need at 3am!

RedFraggle · 18/07/2007 12:10

Not fair! {RedFraggle shouts loudly to wake Derlor's LO from lunchtime nap!}

Oh Daisy, I tried not to post but cannot help it when people are so smug and quote so much crap! We are already bullied into allsorts when pregnant (no runny eggs, no soft cheese, no peanuts, then no nuts at all) I mean really! Where does it end? My Nan was prescribed a half of guinness everyday during her pregnancies for the iron. Prescribed!! She had 5 strapping intelligents lads. It just annoys the hell out of me that people can be so nannying and judgemental and sanctimonius!
{Red hops back off soapbox}
Am about to attempt to a trip to the zoo with both kids - wish I could locate the blooming reins.

RedFraggle · 18/07/2007 12:12

I have a poo stained duvet cover ATM too! DH was doing a change night before last and DS evidently hadn't finished... Still not changed bed though will do it tomorrow when I have assistance from my parents to manage DC. Honest - I will!!!

dm1 · 18/07/2007 12:16

what book............
surely not THAT BOOK....

Charlie999 · 18/07/2007 12:18

RF - I have a confession to make - I got a baby wipe and wiped the puke and poo off the (dark maroon so it doesn't notice anyway) sheet and got back into bed and went to sleep

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 12:27

I changed my milk and puke stained sour smelling bedding this morning......i think its been on the bed since we came home from hospital

when i was pg with DS i would buy a bottle of wine on a friday and have a large glass every night, which is nine units a week. he is a clever, beautiful, emotionally well balanced (well most of the time) average boy.

i think that leati one might have been gathering opinions for a paper or something as reading her profile she's some kind of health professional. oh well she'll have lots to write about

Charlie999 · 18/07/2007 12:49

What thread is that Daisy? Gotta have a read of that one!

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 13:20

this one but it looks like the OP has buggered off now.

Having a morning of it with babyboo. She's only slept for 20mins and keeps telling me she's hungry.

She filled her nappy this morning...literally. When I took it off to change, the poo was in a huge puddle. there was loads of it; coming out the top front and back it was [bleargh]. the pay off i suppose for getting a poo every 2-3 days instead of every nappy.

Jamantha · 18/07/2007 13:36

Well feeling much better after 2.5 hours out pushing her round town. And the sun is out so if I'm quick I can transfer nappies from radiators to line before she wants a change and feed. Then an afternoon on the sofa I think.

Jamantha · 18/07/2007 13:37

And you've reminded me daisy - I should be in line for one of "those" nappies any time now. Lovely!

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 13:40

ha Jamantha we had sun yesterday so i got all my washing out...lovely I thought a bit of a breeze too, dry in no time.

Went to the docs and there was the mother and father of all thunderstorms when i was out, so it was wetter than it was when it went on the line. Left it out all night as i couldn't be arsed westling with sopping wet washing....sun out this morning lovely lovely....then more rain out of bloody no-where. I'm going to have to re-wash it at this rate.

and my bloody child is shouting again. she's been out of my arms for approximately 45 mins in total since 9 o'clock this morning.

daisyandbabybootoo · 18/07/2007 13:41

LOL jamantha, I'm hoping that I'll be able to predict the timing of the explosive nappies so that I can use a disposable and keep my (soon to be ordered) real nappies all pristine and nice!

derlor · 18/07/2007 13:46

hello is it safe for me to come in??????????

derlor · 18/07/2007 13:47

yes Daisy it is THAT book - (works though!! )
