annobal · 16/07/2007 19:26

it's ok derlor - it wasn't that good...

now if i had seen it before i'd given birth....

derlor · 16/07/2007 19:26

you can get it over the counter but very £££££££££££££££. make the most of your free prescriptions and get GP to give it to you

foxybrown · 16/07/2007 19:40

Eurghhh, thrush. Absolutely horrible. Bumper, when you mentioned 'needles' in your post, it might be worth a visit to your GP just to check you don't have it too. I had the feeling of hot needles deep down and through my nipples. Am dreading getting it again.

DP and I aren't talking. He just can't cope without being at work. Last week was fine because we were so busy but he's just kicking around the house this week. He's going back on Monday, which pisses me off as DD2 will only be a week old, and somehow I'm meant to cope on NO sleep with 4 of them. Might have been nice to give me a bit of a break for another week.

I went to bed with DD this afternoon, got a whole 20 mins before dd1 came to find me. What a great job he was doing minding her - from the other room watching sport.

Got up and cooked a roast dinner so we could sit as a family, but he 'wasn't hungry'. nearly farking wore it.

DD2 had her first 'awake' day - was awake all morning, and asleep all afternoon now! Hoping she wakes up soon, I really want some kip tonight!

foxybrown · 16/07/2007 19:41

sorry, didn't realise that was so long!

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/07/2007 19:55

not to worry foxy, if you can't natter at us, who can you natter at.

My darling DS has been behaving much better the last few days, but he's now taken it upon himself to be awkward at bedtime and keeps getting up again. Probably because he knows I feed and get babyboo ready for bed.

I've been keeping her downstairs with me till my bedtime, but thinking I need to start settling her in bed at this time. I really love just sitting cuddling her though.

foxybrown · 16/07/2007 20:00

Its lovely isn't it?! I just love a newborn!

My 4 yo gets up loads, infact, they've all started to doing it. Am getting strict now. Trying to do DDs story and cuddle first so she drops off (invariably gets up 10 times for a non-existant poo) and DS2 is 'hungry'. DS1 is smart enough to stay in bed and send his brother up.

Is MMR starting Reception in September?

foxybrown · 16/07/2007 20:01

MMR? That's MRR, obviously

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/07/2007 20:08

Nooooo, he's just finishing Reception...will be a proper big boy in Year 1 ...where has the last 10 months gone?

How about yours? What years are DS1 and DS2.

still no e-mail btw

derlor · 16/07/2007 20:24

daisy i've just tried to email you to see if it has worked

bumperlicious · 16/07/2007 20:29

Foxy, sorry your DH is being a PITA. I will check with the HV re: thrush - is there a way that I can tell?

daisy we keep dd in with us until we go to bed too. do wonder whether we should settle her in our room too.

derlor · 16/07/2007 20:38

here you go Bumper.......
Some common signs of a yeast infection in nursing mothers are:
itchy, pink, red, shiny, or burning nipples (may be cracked)
deep, shooting breast pain during or after feedings
a vaginal yeast infection

Most young babies have symptoms too they include:
white patches on the inside of the lips and cheeks that look like cottage cheese and aren't easily washed off. If you notice a white coating on your baby's tongue but nowhere else, it's probably just milk residue.
crying when nursing or sucking on a dummy or bottle. The white patches mentioned above may be painful and make feeding uncomfortable if the infection is severe.
raised, patchy bright or dark red nappy rash with distinct borders. Small, red spots frequently appear around the edges of the main rash. The affected area is red and may be tender or painful, and the rash can creep into the folds of skin around your babie's genitals and legs. It almost never appears on the buttocks.

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/07/2007 20:40

Bumper......Info on thrush

My lovely baby is sitting in her bouncy chair, chuckling away to herself. She's been awake since 4:30 pm and has fed every hour since then. She's telling me she wants more again....dummy keeps getting spat out, so I guess she might be right!

loonylovegood · 16/07/2007 20:43

Foxy, do you want to join the "My dp is a cock" club? Mine has been sat on the pc all day playing football manager, being a miserable sod and smoking himself to death (I sometimes wish he'd bloody hurry up about it!). I have told him he is taking dd to the play centre tomorrow and cleaning the bathroom or he'll get my toe up his arse!

dm1 · 16/07/2007 20:45

Hi everyone - can I join in? Foxy found me on another thread and invited me......
Had my first lo on the 1st June. Lurked on Mumsnet for the whole of my pgcy and then posted on day one in blind panic!
Just love the happy vibe and support.
As for cosleeping -I keep on falling asleep whilst feeding lying down so I don't have much choice although she doesn't settle in her moses basket anyhow.
Feeding lying down was an epiphany for me - if you can get it, god, it's worth it. Have to shape my boob and press down above my nipple to make it point up to he soft palate if that helps.......

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/07/2007 20:52

Hi dm1 and welcome. My dd was born on 5th June and is my No2. I have a DS, 5 as well.

Hope it's going ok for you, but if not, we listen if you just want to rant, sympathise if things are a bit rough, and offer advice and support on everything from nappy rash to errant DP/DHs.....

LOL Holly, how are things looking re his job? Has he prepared his grovelling apology yet?

daisyandbabybootoo · 16/07/2007 20:54

and to help with what is probably your obvious confusion, dm1.......loonylovegood is also known as hollyandalice....i'm not just talking to an imaginary internet friend

loonylovegood · 16/07/2007 21:00

Hey dm1, welcome! You will hear people calling me holly on here as that is my actual name, so feel free to call me that too! I have a 2 yo dd and my ds was born on the 23rd. I love to co-sleep, my dd was in my bed for 18 months!

Daisy I really hope he has prepared something to say. I don't really want to talk to him about it though coz I'll just make myself cross!

foxybrown · 16/07/2007 21:19

Hello DM1, glad you found us! I'm a mum of 4 Haven't said that before!!

Yes, please Holly. Can we lock them in the understairs cupboard together? I'd be upset if it wasn't so ridiculous!

DD seems to have slept since 2.30, apart from feeding a couple of times. Am going to take her to bed now. Just so she can wake up for a few hours

night all xxx
