@maxiflump1 I have not tried her in a highchair yet we are going ikea at weekend for one. She can sit next to me on floor though half leaning on me. Sounds like hes a strong boy 💪🏽

It is funny as shes just turn 12 and half lb so is tiny. Still in 0-3m clothes. So funny seeing people double taking when we are out as they think shes newborn not 6m nearly. As shes standing up nosing around shouting for attention hahah

I worry as they say dont let young babies stand before 6/7 because of weak spines & hips. But I cant stop her. Doesnt want to sit down wants to jump about or stand.

Notquiteagandt · 25/07/2019 14:49

Also for the past month say (getting progressively worse) changing napoies have been impossible. End up practically chasing her rolling around and pinning her down. Its so hard now. Like a slippery eel.

If anyone has any tips id be grateful.

Also is this the time to move into pull uo active style nappies? As shes just pulling them off wriggling. Shes in size 3 now so think they do them in that size.

bubblybrit · 25/07/2019 15:00

Yes that’s true @maxiflump1. It just feels weird as I almost got used to her not napping and now she naps constantly. Her morning nap lasted 2.5 hours (woke up just after 12pm) and I’ve popped her down for her afternoon nap just after 2pm!

Yakadee · 25/07/2019 15:23

@bubblybrit - sounds similar to mine. Went back to bed at 9am - 11:15am, then been asleep since 2. X

IncyWincy23 · 25/07/2019 15:42

Hi everyone! Haven’t checked in for a while but it’s nice to read everyone’s updates! I’ve also had to get a new account because my old one got deleted so I was Wames90 on the previous threads!

I hope everyone is surviving this heat 🥵. How on Earth are you getting your babies to nap for so long?! My little boy will not nap for longer than 20 - 30 minutes. He also won’t go to bed before 8:30/9 and if I put him down at 6:30/7 he’ll doze for 45 minutes and then he’s full of beans. I’m still breastfeeding and don’t seem to be able to get him to sleep without being on the boob. I’m stressing that I’m turning him into a terrible sleeper through all of this, does anyone have any tips?! Thank you in advance!

bubblybrit · 25/07/2019 16:47

I’m glad I posted earlier @Yakadee as was getting concerned that something was wrong with DD. I feel so much better knowing that other babies are napping just as much!

Yakadee · 25/07/2019 20:03

@bubblybrit - no, certainly not just you! I sometimes have to wake her up so she'll go back to bed at a reasonable hour! Lol. We're very lucky. X

Yakadee · 26/07/2019 01:01

OMG! The heat is unbearable! Poor Emma's room is 29 degrees! 😩

bubblybrit · 26/07/2019 08:01

Yep. I feel you. Anna’s room didn’t drop below 28 degrees. We both had a terrible sleep 😬

Yakadee · 26/07/2019 08:29

@bubblybrit - it was flipping awful! She did actually settle eventually but I was melting! I seemed to be awake for ages! My husband was like, 'just don't move, you'll cool down ' but it's me that gets up with the kids! Lol x

detachablehoof · 01/08/2019 12:23

We've progressed from having to do walks / drives for sleep, to being able to strap her in her pushchair in a dark room (no rocking) and she'll drop off. A couple of times I've managed to get her to go to sleep in her cot by sitting with her for 30 mins and keeping my hand on her so she can't move around. If I leave her she starts shuffling around and rolling and then gets mad. Any great tips to stop her from rolling in her cot 🤔 I guess she's only going to get more mobile so maybe there's no point doing anything much. I'm pleased she'll go to sleep with no rocking (and usually transfers to her cot no problem once she's asleep) but I'd like to get out of the pushchair habit!

Anyone got a sitter yet? Mine is 23 weeks and not showing any interest in it, wish she would! Rolling nicely though 😊

Yakadee · 01/08/2019 13:45

@detachablehoof - we have a roller here too. She sleeps on her front now too. No tips on how to stop them I'm afraid, as you say, they'll only get better! Ha.

Emma isn't sitting yet although very sturdy so I think it'll probably be in the next few weeks / months. She's sitting really well in chairs etc x

moonlight1705 · 01/08/2019 14:04

Can I join in? My DD is now only a week away from being 6 months and its nice to read what is normal.

She is absolutely enormous and already in 9-12 month clothes as she is just so long and sturdy. Weirdly though she hasn't taken to solids that much, she likes the porridge but isn't really swallowing much of it at all.

She sits with adult help and a tiny bit by herself but still falls backwards very easily. She's interested in her feet so will sit and bend forward to play with them steadily.

Handily she now sleeps 7-7 but I really don't know if its anything we have done or if she is just a good sleeper.

Yakadee · 01/08/2019 15:56

@moonlight1705 - hi! My Emma is in same size clothes (and sometimes bigger if trousers) too, she's really long!

She also sleeps around 7-7 which is fantastic! Like you, not sure if it's a fluke but I'll take it! X

moonlight1705 · 01/08/2019 16:15

@Yakadee - yes, I try not to say too much around some of my other mum friends but feeling really lucky. Knowing her though, she will go and have a massive sleep regression at some other point Grin

Yakadee · 01/08/2019 16:28

@moonlight1705 - I'll just take it where I can! Lol.

Anyone else got a ridiculously sicky baby? I've been to the docs about a month ago and they said, 'it's very common, some children are sick maybe 8 times a day ' - try an hour! She's been sick twice since I've written this! What can I do? She's started some solids now and still sick just as often.

She's thankfully not in pain or anything but I just don't know what to do? X

maxiflump1 · 01/08/2019 18:31

Welcome to the group @moonlight1705!

Well max is 6 months old today which is crazy! Happy half birthday to your little girl too @Notquiteagandt

He sits really well but no sign of rolling still: his thighs and bottom are just too big to flip over I think. We are well into 9-12 month clothes and have even busted out some of his big brothers old 12-18 month stuff! Sleep wise he is 50/50: some nights he'll sleep through and other he wakes once in the night for a feed.

Mine is five months on the 3rd... no signs of sitting unaided although he has rolling easily for well over a month and is nearly crawling.

Started well on solids but I dropped them during the heatwave as he went off feeds and I’d rather he had the milk.

He’s in 6-9 months clothes but not for much longer.. 😬

Notquiteagandt · 01/08/2019 21:07

@maxiflump1 still sporting his wonderful hair I see 😍 m is still a little baldy locks. She has some hair but its super short. Just doesnt seem to be growing.

She is army crawling and rolling to get about. But not sitting yet. Can sit totally independant for about 20 seconds then flops. Usually faceplants the floor poor little thing. Been a few tears 😢

We are off camping this weekend. Super nervous and unsure how it is going to go. Deffo need eyes in back of my head.

maxiflump1 · 01/08/2019 21:15

@Notquiteagandt we are off camping on Saturday too but for a whole week. We must both be mad (but at least mines not on the move yet!!!) Wink

Notquiteagandt · 01/08/2019 21:20

@maxiflump1 we are meant to be for the week but some what nervous so for now im commiting to the weekend haha. Hope weathers nice for us all. Good luck! May run into you if you are also off to wales 🤣🤣🤣

maxiflump1 · 01/08/2019 21:21

@Notquiteagandt nope we're off to North Devon. Weather forecast not looking great so far.... Confused

Sunday38 · 01/08/2019 21:51

Glad you're making progress with sleeping detachable. We're still on 5am wake ups Sad

Welcome moonlight there's such a huge range of 'normal' as far as children are concerned even when they get older!

Yakadee that sounds like a lot of sicking up and I say that as mum to two reflux babies! Is it just getting worse perhaps now that she's rolling and more mobile? If she's not bothered by it and it isn't much I wouldn't worry too much.

Wow some big babies! Mine is still wearing 3-6 months and is a bit on the skinny side, no idea how much he weighs as I've not been to clinic for ages. Ro sits really well by himself and only falls over when he gets too excited. He's rolling nicely too and shuffling in circles on his tummy. I don't think I'm quite ready for him to be more mobile yet so I'm in no hurry for crawling, he has other ideas and is doing a sort of caterpillar wiggle to move forward!

Weaning is progressing very very slowly. Had some success with df yoghurt but he's preferring to feed himself so it looks like we're going down the blw route whether I like it or not! Just need him to sleep an hour or so later in the mornings Hmm

Yakadee · 01/08/2019 21:59

@Sunday38 - I'm sure it's not reflux thankfully as she's really happy / not in pain! Who knows, drives me mad. I'm just glad it's nothing worse x

bubblybrit · 04/08/2019 10:08

Morning ladies. For those that have started weaning....do I need anything in addition to the following: high chair, plastic bowl and spoon, bib with rim to catch the food, drinking cup.....don’t want to buy anything which isn’t necessary as wasted so much money buying stuff before she was born that I’ve never used!
