Educate me, where's that?

Mine have never stayed at either grandprents on their own. I think it's about time they did! We were going to send them to my mums over our wedding anniversary but then Noddy got in the way

mustrunmore · 17/07/2007 20:39

Sorry, I do feel bad that I've just done some really short postngs lately, that amke it look as if I've been ignoring you all. I have read it , just havent commented. As it is, I still have 2 crying kids upstairs, as ds1 is being a little shit and its woken ds2 up

Jas, its the other way in our house. Dh is too scared to change jobs, despite Mr Lodger egging him on BTW, I saw that tent in Tescos, and was sooo close to buying it as they're reduced now. Thought dh wouldnt be too pleased though, as we're now on a tighter budget than ever. But he actually said 'why on earth didnt you get it?'

Did a lovely run last night. Not because I was any better, but because it was unexpexcted; lodger was in, so I could grab 1/2 hr while he listened for the boys

I've been invited to a BBQ on 5th Aug, but obv dont know when I'll be home Shame, as I like the woman but keep looking as though I'm putting her off, which I'm not. But I'd prob be too knackered anyway!!!

Yorkshire. Castle Howard is a stately home. Brideshead revisited was filmed there, and my grandma lives in a caravan on a site next door to it all summer every year. It is her birthday on Sunday so the family will be gathering

I sent mine to my mum for the first time when dd2 was just 1 so I could decorate their room and am making sure it stays an annual event. They aren't having ds without me as it will restrict what they can do with the girls. I'm hoping um will take dd1 to see aHP so I don't have to go.

Jas · 17/07/2007 20:43

I can get it for you if you want mrm. I took mine back and am borrowing a bigger one for the weekend.

TheOrderOfThePhoenix · 17/07/2007 20:44

Shame your busy Jas you could come and meet me, chloe and frizbe while you're up our way

Jas · 17/07/2007 20:45

It did cross my mind. We're only staying one night.

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/07/2007 20:46

Another one dreading the holidays here. Just hoping I have gathered enough numbers of other SAHMs to get enough playdates to keep dd happy, though I seriously doubt it!

We will spend a week or so at my parents whilst dh is in India for a fortnight, but very little else planned, and our holiday isn't until everything has started up again!

Well I hope that your dp does find something else before he jacks in his current work Jas.

lol at the mrm household's reaction to the photos .
Yes amazingly enough macca, the dress is still white - just one small grass stain on it I believe, but we did take it off for eating and most of the afternoon!

Dd napped for an hour today, so they aren't completely a thing of the past!

mustrunmore · 17/07/2007 20:53

India?

TheOrderOfThePhoenix · 17/07/2007 20:54

Ds had no nap today. I was tearing my hair out and ready to put him to bed at about 5 because he was so whingy and just throwing himself around crying. I put teletubbies on and that kept him occupied til dh got home from work at 6.10 then he beat daddy up for a bit and went to bed at 6.30. He was out like a light in minutes.

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/07/2007 21:02

lol Phoenix - guess he's not quite ready to drop his nap yet then .

mrm - one of the pics is of the 'other woman' in the thread that made the roundup a few weeks ago , and there are several shots of the other 'culprit' .
Jas - the brother that I was talking to you about is middle bottom row on page 1.

TheOrderOfThePhoenix · 17/07/2007 21:05

No He still has 2 naps most days (an hour morning, an hour afternoon). He can sometimes do without 1 but not both.

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/07/2007 21:15

at still having 2 naps. I didn't realise that.

mustrunmore · 17/07/2007 21:18

Anyone want to get on the phone to ds1 right now and tell the little pest it really really is bedtime?

Frizbe · 17/07/2007 21:48

oh dear MRM, hope he goes to sleep soon

Macca we have more teeth here too, top left molar! I was expecting the lump that is the bottom one 1st, but no, lol she's still only got her two front teeth at the bottm and a right molar, where are the rest of the front ones????

Flame, how was monkey world, hows the head?

CSWS, those pics are gorgeous. The cakes looked fab too Where did you get your dress from?
Hub, great photos

Jas, know where you coming from re dh n job, hope he gets another 1st {{{Hugs}}} great news re your extra cash coming in though

Hi Phoenix!

Dd2 has been cute here today, bar trying to escape her raincover in a torrential downpour she's taken to babbling at me properly, as if she's asking a quesion every now and again I can make out the words, ie this am, babble babble babble isisisisisisisuuuueeeessss mamma, was I want a tissue mamma tonight she was in bath with dd1, fixed me with a stare, waffled for a minute, then said isobel and pointed at the mirror

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/07/2007 22:06

Was going to call mrm, but dh called me instead. Has he gone off now?

Friz - my dress was just from Evans. They don't make 'em for skinny folk like you .

MuffinMclay · 17/07/2007 22:09

sorry to gatecrash the thread....

csws - is there a M&T this Thursday? If so, I'm assuming it is the last one before the holiday, so do I need to bring anything special (raffle prize, food for a party, that kind of thing)? I would have phoned, but I've misplaced your number.

Can you let me know on one of the threads I'm one. Thanks.

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/07/2007 22:20

Yes it's the last one, but Mary won't be there (Sue is running). We weren't asked to bring anything iirc, so if we are meant to then you won't be the only one empty handed! Remind me to give you my number again then. Will need company over the looooooong summer hols!

Frizbe · 17/07/2007 22:29

Oh cripes, thanks for the reminder there CSWS/Muffin that all the blinking toddler stuff won't be on, I'd clean forgot, damn and I didn't go to twisiting tots today either

Jas · 17/07/2007 22:59

Why did you think we are all not looking forward to the holidays Frizbe?
I can live without toddler groups now, but entertaining all of them gets exhausting after a while. I'm considering printing my phone number and giving it to all the mums at school in the hope of getting a few play dates organised for dd2. (I'm more friendly with dd1s friends mums already)

They will spend the whole holiday playing with my friends children, instead.

DP hasn't told work he's leaving yet, and says he won't leave til he's got something else. Watch this space.

(Flame didn't go to Monkey world in the end - she went back to bed)

FlameDelacour · 18/07/2007 07:55

Sorry for not being about, head still pounding.

mustrunmore · 18/07/2007 08:20

We'll come and entertain you in the hols Jas And you can come here anytime you like! We really have to find a half way point thats easy on public transport, other than Pizza Hut in Walthamstow!

I want to go to Monkey World.

mustrunmore · 18/07/2007 08:23

Btw, before the evening degenerates, can I see the photos 'in the flash' on piss up night? Call me old fashioned, but I'd like to sit down with a nice album and study them properly!

FlameDelacour · 18/07/2007 08:30

I wanted to go to Monkey World too It was the last preschool trip I could do with her (missed last year due to heatwave and little man being too little to go out all day in it)
