Morning all, just a quick note cos Erin seems to be stirring

Postie delivered my Bambinex teddy nappy today and it's gorgeous...so soft and cuddly!

Also got a letter about the dates for my baby massage class .

Sorry for no personals gotta dash!

elkiedee · 17/07/2007 10:33

Morning all

CD, you always seem impressively organised to me, guess you have to be with 3 young daughters to contend with. But hope you get to catch up on some sleep at some point.

LOL pinions, don't know when I conceived exactly but tomorrow's the anniversary of my LMP date. I'm surprised by how quickly everyone seems to have realised they were pg, I know I was late April EDD and Danny didn't arrive until May, but it took me until the beginning of September to think I should buy a test kit - the key moment was when the smell of the Reprographics Unit in the basement at work seemed really overpowering when I had to visit down there.
Did anyone else have a moment when they guessed?

I don't know how those on your own manage 1 or 2 or 3! SOKL, is there any way you could give B a role in "helping" with K? I guess the age gap might be a bit small. We don't really have a bedtime routine for Danny as such, but I have just started a bath routine which will hopefully become a bath then bed routine in time, I thought it would help us to get better organised too.

Today I'm planning to take Danny on a visit to the office. Can't face the tube or Kings Cross station alone so will get the bus which will take me all the way to the Angel Islington from near home and walk a mile into work. On the way home the crowds really pile on near the Angel (busy shopping/work area) but on our last visit getting on a stop before that worked really well, even at a time when all the shops were just shutting. I deliberately haven't committed myself to anything much so I can still chicken out of this totally.

Tomorrow morning we head back up north (Ilkley/Harrogate/Ilkley) until Monday.

elkiedee · 17/07/2007 10:36

Pinions, are you going to follow the offshoot of the Mozhe thread as well?

Bramshott · 17/07/2007 10:36

Morning all! Not caught up, but crashing in with a question: Those of you who are still fully breastfeeding and whose babies are sleeping through, are you still giving a dream-feed at 10.30ish? I have been, but last night she wouldn't take it, and then still slept through, so I don't know whether to bother offering tonight?

Also braved the night-time training with Niamh and joy of joys she was dry (last night at least). Of course I slept really badly because I was convinced that either Orla was going to wake for milk, or Niamh was going to wake up wet at any minute!

Also meant to say thank you to all those with kind words about my youthful looks ! Had a great birthday with a yummy Thai takeaway.

Pinions · 17/07/2007 10:38

Hi elkie. Yes am following both am fascinated!

Pinions · 17/07/2007 10:40

Bramshott. T has no routine whatsoever when it comes to feeding, sometimes can wake up 4 times a night, sometimes once so cannot comment apologies.

weeonion · 17/07/2007 10:41

bramshott - quick post here. i used to lify caoimhe at 11 pm for a dream breastfeed. i have stopped it and she now goes from 8pm to 2am and then up again at 5 /6am.

will be back laer to catch up and post personals!

CaptainDippy · 17/07/2007 10:45

Sleep - what's that!!!?

Bramshott - Nope, never had any Dream-Feeding going on in this house - If she slept through without it, then I wouldn't bother for a few night and see how it goes ..... funny little creatures, aren't they!? Unpredictable.....

Have a friend coming to stay for a week tomorrow so housework to do today and perhaps a little trip into town for a coffee & a cake. I like Tuesdays when I am not working!

Working tomorrow pm instead though. Bugger.

Elkiedee - yes, I kind of guessed when I noticed an incredibly overwhelming thirst! Over a couple of days I was drinking litres and litres of water, one morning I drank 3 litres before 10am! Knew something was up, but was only 5 weeks gone when I clicked.

Bramshott - no dream feed here, the few times I attempted it I woke him up and shortened his total sleep for the night. At the moment he's feeding about 7 or 8pm and then not til 5am.

Runny - growth spurt? Like I said to mammyjo yesterday, this happened to me a couple of weeks ago and I fully expect it to happen again, it's a pita but i think if you want to keep bf-ing you have to just go with it? That's what I've understood anyway..

Mammyjo - made your muffins this morning again with raspberries this time.. yum yum

And for those on diets, dh has told me he will do one if I join him. He's such a woman, he's more worried about his body than I am. By miles! I might need to though, I only need to lose about 4 kgs/ half stone to comfortably fit into my pre preg clothes and now it's so hot I have a load of light floaty things I kind of NEED to be able to wear. I don't think it would be that hard to shift so going to start making a real effort. After I finish the muffins of course...
Going to see HP tonight...

Bramshott · 17/07/2007 10:49

Thanks guys. Am slightly embarassed now to admit how good she has been - for the last few weeks fed at 7pm, lifted and fed at 10.30pm, then through to 8.30am. Last night fed at 7pm, refused at 10.30am, and slept till 7.45am. So I'm wondering if that was a fluke, or if it's physically possible for a breastfed 16 week old to go 12 hours without a feed?!?

Katy44 · 17/07/2007 10:52

The mozhe thread has picked on the name Tristan
I didn't guess I was pg, it was on my mind from ttc to testing - I had 34/35/36 day cycles so I got really impatient waiting, think I finally tested on day 38 or something!

Katy44 · 17/07/2007 10:53

Hi Bramshott, we are a long way off sleeping through (although had a really good night last night) but I don't think it's unreasonable for a bf 16 week old to sleep for 12 hours. Might be talking rubbish though and am very

Yes, katy - ignore, ignore, ignore!!

normabutty · 17/07/2007 11:18

at them being mean about the name Tristan. It's a lovely name Katy.

ARGHHHHHHH....why does Erin only poo in a clean nappy ????? Why, why, why???? Have only just changed the bloody thing.

mammyjoMcGonagall · 17/07/2007 11:21

Hello! Katy, Tristan is a fab name. Take no notice

Maveta, glad you like the muffins! I like to make them with raspberries but neither dh nor ds will eat them so tend to use choc chips instead. Scrummy either way though!

Bramshott, all I can say is you are a lucky bugger with O sleeping so long!! F is still breast fed exclusively. She was sleeping through really well, but had started waking a couple of times a night for feeds. Has just been the once for the last two nights so hoping she is settling again. Cant believe they are 16 weeks this week! I still feed her at around 10.30pm, but that is because she wakes for it then, otherwise I would probably leave her and see what she did.

CD, have a good day off and enjoy your cake! I am meant to be having a cleaning day. Cant go anywhere as the weather is pants. Have given the bathroom a quick once over and put the hoover round so far so not bad!

Must go and have a nose at the Mozhe thread as I think I have fallen behind!!

mammyjoMcGonagall · 17/07/2007 11:22

Its the law of the sod!!

normabutty · 17/07/2007 11:24

lol MJ!!!

Katy44 · 17/07/2007 11:40

Thanks everyone
I'm feeling quite sensitive about it as I bumped into someone I used to work with in the supermarket and she said it's a posh name, that's the 2nd time I've heard that and had never thought of that before. It's DH's middle name and a friend's brother is also called it, and it never occurred to me it was posh before not that that's a bad thing but yknwim
norma, lol at erin pooing in a clean nappy, i always have the dilemma of whether to change him before or after a feed - whichever i pick it's the wrong one
Morning Dippy, very impressed with housework!
Right better go off with Tristan and ask the butler to muck out the horses as we have Lord and Lady Wotnot coming round this afternoon

AngeG · 17/07/2007 11:48

Hello

CD - I sypathise with the bad night. Was up talking with dh til 2am, Jake came in at 4.15am then Izzy woke at 5:30. Hope tonight is better for both of us.

SOKL - Don't know if you've already decided about jabs...but our surgery always says as long as they don't have a temp, then they should have them. Izzy had hers last week, despit that nasty cough she had.

Katy - ignore them, Tristan is a lovely name.

Bramshott - I did a dream feed with Izzy for a while, but found she slept as long without it. I do think it's possible for fully bf babies to go 12 hours, Izzy does 2 nights a week...others it's between 9 and 12 hours. Glad you had a good birthday

Katy44 · 17/07/2007 11:57

Ange that sounds like an awful night!

CaptainDippy · 17/07/2007 12:03

Poor you Ange! Any opportunity for a rest today?? Hello btw!!

Right - need to stuff some food into DD2, then DH is coming home to take older 2 to nursery and I'll crack on with housework while P watches me from the comfort of her carseat, poor neglected child that she is!!

Does sge just watch dippy? or does she watch and yell like T does? Left him crying yesterday while i v quickly ate then picked him up for a cuddle, red rimmed eyes, tears and snuffly sighs - felt like such a bad mummy

Katy44 · 17/07/2007 12:09

hes such a little drama queen
