If it works out the same as last time and his weight follows the centiles again then I don't see the problem. Its only a few weeks until vaccinations so he'll be weighed again soon.

I'd love to stop the top ups. He was on three 7oz bottles but we've managed to cut one out which has made things much easier. I don't know if it's realistic that we'd get rid of both the remaining bottles but even if we could get down to just the evening one that would be helpful. It's amazing how much extra time it takes to feed then top up. He seems to be starting to feed more effectively sometimes so I'm still hoping that on Tuesday his weight gain will be enough to try dropping or cutting down on the morning bottle.

What a killer! Baby is sleeping absolutely amazing but my son's up again! She slept from 8pm - 4am but I've been awake since 1 ish! 😩

mummymummymummummum · 30/03/2019 04:55

I know it's really hard to describe, but how much do your LOs spit back up during/after feeds? I've just had to change sheets and sleeping bag from her bringing up an hour and a half after a feed. She also brought up quite a bit at the time of the feed too. This is pretty regular, I'm getting through so many muslins from protecting clothes as best I can, and mopping up. My eldest had silent reflux, so I have no idea what is normal in this respect!

babyp160 · 30/03/2019 06:50

White noise wise I swear by this wonderful gift we received.

You basically set it so when baby makes a noise it goes off for 15/30/45 mins whatever you wish. God send!!!!

Yakadee · 30/03/2019 15:49

Emma has her first set of jabs next weds 😩 I've seen loads of people saying their little ones all screamed / unsettled for 24 hours after! I'm dreading it! 😭

bubblybrit · 30/03/2019 16:16

@Yakadee. I’m just waiting on the surgery confirming her appointment. Can’t say I’m looking forward to it either as she screamed the place down when they did the blood spot test!

Yakadee · 30/03/2019 17:00

@bubblybrit - they did that when Emma was asleep and she didn't flinch actually! It's bad timing too at appointment is at 2:45 and I pick my son up from nursery at 3! X

bubblybrit · 30/03/2019 19:39

@Yakadee. That’s great that Emma didn’t seem bothered by it. Anna woke up as soon as I removed her socks and then preceded to scream for an hour afterwards. That’s a pity on the timing! I’m lucky that Anna is my first so don’t have the added stress of another child. Hope it works out ok for you all x

maxiflump1 · 30/03/2019 19:51

@Yakadee we have first jabs on weds too! Unfortunately it's on a day that older DS is not at nursery so I will have to bring him too! Although it was quite sweet as he said he'd look after him and tell him he has to brave. That was after I reassured him he wasn't going to have them. These jabs definitely get harder as they get older: for his pre school jabs he got behind the curtain and refused to come out. We had to pretty much pin him down to do the jabs

Notquiteagandt · 30/03/2019 21:19

We had ours friday. She was on the boob. Screamed for a few seconds. Then carried on eating. Had a few explosive nappjes from thd oral one as it gives an upset stomach. Shes been extra cuddley and clingey but better than exspected.

I had a panic in night though as shesbeen quite vommy (reflux so unsure if that ir the meds!) Anyways it was pink. Que me panicing it was blood before i remembered how pink calpol is 😂😂😂

Yakadee · 30/03/2019 21:26

@maxiflump1 - I bet my son is due more soon, he turned 3 a few weeks ago.

I'm hoping she'll to better than I expect but she needs them either way so it'll be what it is.

Also, so much for a better night tonight! My son is in bed with me again, literally coughing his guts up, poor love (and I only washed my bedding today 😩). Baby is somehow sleeping through his constant coughing, at least someone will!

Roll on morning time as I'm sure tonight is going to be long!! X

lanalawr · 30/03/2019 23:33

Oh no @Yakadee . I hope he settles soon. You've got a few months to wait for the jabs, from memory I think they're at 3 years and 4 months. For my dd that means missing school to have them (summer baby and vaccinations only done one afternoon a week in our surgery).

Yakadee · 31/03/2019 05:33

@lanalawr - thanks, he's doing OK. He hadn't thrown up again but has coughed a lot, but seems settled enough to sleep. He has asthma so this is h it goes unfortunately. Although, since he's been properly diagnosed it's much muvh better. We're down to a bad night or two from weeks and weeks!

Happy Mother's day everyone - first time mummy's enjoy your first! I'm am truly feeling the wrath of mother's day just now haha xx

DeliberatelyGinger · 31/03/2019 05:43

Happy Mother's Day everyone. x

Lookingforadvice123 · 31/03/2019 07:32

Happy Mother's Day!!!

yakadee your poor son! Hope he's better soon.

My DS1 turns three and four months on 26th April which is the same week as DS2 is 8 weeks, I really hope their jabs aren't on the same day!!! My DS1 was really sad and clingy all evening after his 8 week jabs and he seemed under the weather for a good couple of days after so I'm going to prepare for the same this time round.

Yakadee · 31/03/2019 07:42

@Lookingforadvice123 - thanks, he's still asleep now so hopefully catching up a bit. Fingers crossed last night was the bad night and he'll start improving.

Emma on the other hand was amazing again! Just a shame they can't sleep well at the same time! Lol.

On a different note, look at her eyelashes! (Excuse her scabby looking mouth)

Unless jab day at your surgery is Friday you should be in luck @Lookingforadvice123 . The don't usually like doing the vaccinations until the day the age is reached or after. Not 100% sure but think they do the same for preschool jabs.

AvoidingMarking · 31/03/2019 08:35

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Lookingforadvice123 · 31/03/2019 08:40

Oh thanks lanalawr. DS2 turns 8 weeks on Easter Sunday! So I guess it'll be the Tuesday after.

sunday38 · 31/03/2019 14:58

notquite DS1 once refluxed up a 'blood clot' aka some partly digested red pepper! Gotta love the weaning stage

Gorgeous eyelashes yakadee!

Happy Mother's Day all, anyone doing anything nice today? Not up to much here, had a bit of a bad night last night as R just wouldn't settle after his 2am feed and DS1 has been grumpy too this morning so roll on bedtime Hmm Have upped to 6oz feeds in the hope that it's hunger causing the unsettledness, fingers crossed.

Yakadee · 31/03/2019 17:42

@sunday38 - it's so hard sometimes to put your finger on it! We're hoping for a better night here too.

We went out for lunch with my Mil, sil and her gf. We had a lovely time actually, both kids were great! X

bubblybrit · 01/04/2019 14:37

Is anyone else struggling to do anything at all? My little one will only snooze during the day if she is being cuddled....literally can’t put her down long enough to eat or go for a shower 😞! Don’t know how many cold/lukewarm cups of tea I get through during the day. Aargh!?!

AvoidingMarking · 01/04/2019 15:17

We've been in a nappy change/ feed/nap for 10 min cycle then repeat since 10.30. Put him down briefly and got some washing on the line and some lunch. Haven't moved off the sofa.

Have you tried a sling @bubblybrit? I was quite happy to just chill today but would have used the sling if I had stuff to get done

bubblybrit · 01/04/2019 15:26

@AvoidingMarking. No I haven’t tried a sling as of yet. I know a few ladies have been discussing options previously on this thread. I have gotten it into my head (irrationally!) that she will fall out the sling! Lol 😂 I’ve hardly moved from the sofa all day....only to change her and make up a bottle....really want to be a little more active x

Since2016 · 01/04/2019 15:48

Definitely second a sling if you have a Velcro baby. This time she has to be put down more than DD was and she’s none too happy about it but I have to run around after the threenager! But a sling makes it 100% easier. You don’t necessarily need to use a fabric one if you’re concerned about tying it, try a buckles one - most babies love them!
