@sunday38 good to know you could get hold of your medical records. I've contacted the records department at LGI and hopefully they will be in touch soon.

When we first started this group waaaaayyy back in June 😲 there were quite a few Yorkshire ladies on here. Can't remember which usernames so some of them might have dropped off!

FF mums, when do you think we can expect our boobs to be at their normal size? My old bras are far too small and the bras I wore when pg are too big. My bust doesn't seem to be shrinking any more but I don't want to buy new bras until I'm sure they will be the right size long term!! I'm wondering if I will ever go back to my old size or not?

bubblybrit · 21/03/2019 12:50

@sunday38. Rowan is gorgeous. My little one was born on 12th Feb and also weighed 6lb 14oz!

sickmumma · 21/03/2019 13:15

@detachablehoof is this your first baby? I went up 2 cup sizes with my first child and never went back down but with subsequent children they have stayed the same size.

We've had a couple of unsettled nights (I've also had a horrible cough/cold) however Ava seems to be getting into a good nighttime routine - feeds before bed about 10:30-11 and then wakes at 3am and 6:30am (which is great as I can feed her then get up with the kids at 7!) she generally settles okay or upto 20-30mins. The only problem is the mornings you can't really put her down which is when everyone is getting ready so while I sort kids clothes OH takes the baby and then the kids have to kind of sort themselves (and run a bit riot!!) and then when I get myself ready she likes lying in the breastfeeding pillow!!

Yakadee · 21/03/2019 13:38

@detachablehoof - I'm from Halifax!

Also a ff mum - mine are more or less what they were before now, I'm back in my pre - pregnancy bras x

detachablehoof · 21/03/2019 15:02

Yes this is first baby. I reckon I'm probably not going to shrink back down but I'll wait a couple of weeks to be sure!

bethfreyaisaac · 21/03/2019 16:20

I'm from Keighley- so West Yorkshire! Some of you aren't too far away then!

Hope you're all doing well Smile

detachablehoof · 21/03/2019 17:26

Bit envious of those of you who say that it only takes 20-30 minutes to feed your baby and get them back to sleep in the night. It usually takes us about an hour. I'm considering buying some of the faster flowing teats to see if that helps?

Yakadee · 21/03/2019 17:27

Hi everyone, might sounds like a daft question, but does slimming world work?

I've always done weight watchers and have had success (until I've given up at least 🤦‍♀️) however I did try sw once and decided it wasn't for me.

Anyhoo, I have my 6 week post pregnancy check up in the morning and my health visitor has told me I'll likely be offered a 12 week membership because of my bmi (31) and I'd like to give it a go. Trouble is, I hate most fruits (and don't really enjoy it full stop, I do like veg though).

What do you think? Do you guys that do it enjoy it?

Thanks everyone xx

DeliberatelyGinger · 22/03/2019 01:39

@sunday38 Hi! Rowan is gorgeous.
Last night did not work out and I got really frustrated and tearful. Trying a new tack tonight; I did a feed around 9 and DH took her for few hours with a bottle. I managed a couple of hours sleep and have since done two more feeds bug I feel a lot better about it.

babyp160 · 22/03/2019 02:24

What temperature do you all have your house?

Gro egg/monitor wise?

babyp160 · 22/03/2019 02:33

@Yakadee slimming world isn't actually much different now from weight watchers as in lean meats are 'free' veg is 'free' some fruits are 'free'. However Slimming world you don't weigh pasta and jackets potatoes they are all free and unlimited which can be lethal.
Your syns are like points which are limited each day. (Naughty foods, sauces etc)
Then you have healthy A choice each day which are your dairy, I believe you get double this is you're breast feeding. And you have a healthy b choice which is like the carbs, bread, weetabix etc.

It works well if you stick to it and know not to have 5 handfuls if pasta etc.

Veg is fine you don't need to love fruit.

Handy to know they may offer this, where are you from? I want to rejoin slimming world next Friday and have my 6 week check Monday 🤔

1stTimeTina · 22/03/2019 03:06

@Yakadee I think slimming world is great, so much flexibility on the plan and the recipes are so tasty. I've got about a stone to lose to get to my pre pregnancy weight and a further stone after that to get to my ideal weight so i plan on joining slimming world again soon, there's something about knowing you're going to class and getting on the scales each week that stops me eating that share pack of chocolate buttons 😂

Can I ask what formula milk people are using? We've gone with the Aldi mama milk as it had good reviews and we read it's identical to aptimil (made in the same factory and everything) and of course it's cheap!
However they don't do ready milk for when you're out and about so we've been using the aptimil (again because it's supposed to be identical) but she seems to have a bit of a funny tummy and I'm not sure if it's that?

Notquiteagandt · 22/03/2019 03:14

@1stTimeTina did you watch the dispatches episode on formula this week? Certainly eye opener. It confirmed its all the same.

Notquiteagandt · 22/03/2019 03:16

Has anyone braved taking their baby swimming yet? We have all the gear now. Just waiting to get all clear from dr to go again next week. Im excited and nervous at same time.

Any tips anyone whos been?

1stTimeTina · 22/03/2019 03:17

@Notquiteagandt no I missed it, might have to try and find it on some sort of catch up as I've heard it was an interesting watch 👍

lanalawr · 22/03/2019 03:46

@Notquiteagandt we haven't taken ds yet but dd started swimming lessons in a hydrotherapy pool at 7 weeks old. The company she swims with recommend that they're 12 weeks or weigh 12lbs before they use a 'normal' pool so we waited with her. Be prepared to not be in the water for long because they do get cold quickly. Have a towel and a bottle/boob handy for when you're finished so you can wrap them up and feed. I found that when she was little dd slept for a while after swimming too. Enjoy it and just play it by ear seeing how you get on.

lanalawr · 22/03/2019 03:49

Also it's worth checking what the pool you'll use expect you to put babies in in terms of nappies. Some insist on a disposable/reusable swim nappy with a happy nappy on top (not sure if you've already got this). The happy nappy should be tight to prevent leaks - I always found them a pain to get on.

babyp160 · 22/03/2019 04:33

Swimming wise I wondered too. We are now away Easter and he'll be 10 weeks but is already 12lb now. It's a indoor pool but I'm going to check the temperature first I think!

Yakadee · 22/03/2019 05:46

@babyp160 - I'm in West Yorkshire (Halifax). I've got my appointment this morning so will ask about it. I'm really hoping if anything, that I get the gym membership that comes with it (I thought I might so that and join back up at wws?).

@1stTimeTina - thanks, I am worried about the portion sizes as that's not my strong suit! 🤦‍♀️

I'll let you know what docs says x

Notquiteagandt · 22/03/2019 06:02

My little girls only 7lb still so think at this rate shell hit 12lb about 6months old 😂😂😂

Sounds like more research is needed. Was just going to taks ger myself before comit to lessons. As at £16 per lesson sold in blocks of ten. Be costly if she hates it.

She loves the bath. So fingers crossed.

I have gotten her a fleece lined full body wetsuit. So hopefully keep her snuggly and warm.

Going to aim for ten mins first time I think.

Wames90 · 22/03/2019 06:19

@babyp160 I’m interested in house temps too. We’ve had ours around 18 and keep it less than 20 at a maximum but not sure if this is too cold because I go to some peoples house with babies and feel like I’m melting! Sorry, hopefully someone helpful will reply too!

Yakadee · 22/03/2019 07:13

We have a thermostat and it's set at 19. Don't usually have it any higher than 20 x

lanalawr · 22/03/2019 08:15

@Notquiteagandt sounds lovely and snuggly! Dd just had a body wrap over her happy nappy when we went to the public pool and we managed about 10-15 mins before she was cold. It sounds like you've got a good plan for the first time (from my experience anyway).

Lookingforadvice123 · 22/03/2019 08:19

lanalawr I still use the happy nappy over swim nappy with DS1 and he's been potty trained since August 😂 I just can't bear the risk of a poo escaping in the pool, I think I'd die from embarrassment. He's never even had a poo accident once!

babyp160 · 22/03/2019 08:26

A health visitor said 20 was low so aim 22 even though the gro egg says otherwise. Our room was 22.8 last night. Windows in vent and no radiator on all day. I was sweating!!!! So opened windows.

Baby only wears a sleep suit in bed anyway. 1 layer but I wondered..
