CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 18:37

I think I need wine this evening too .

Jas · 29/06/2007 18:41

What's wrong?

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 18:43

Bad afternoon chez CSWS. Don't really want to go into detail, sorry.

Jas · 29/06/2007 18:44

I hope things get better for you tonight.

2boysmacca · 29/06/2007 19:02

I'll join you all in a glass of wine, just opened Wolfblass if anyone wants a glas

The ehavens opened this afternoon, and it was coming down in sheets against the front window but looked calm out back, next thing I know I see drips from the windowsill and see the rain is coming through, no idea where, but oodles of it! I think it must have been a freak leak , or perhaps i really need to get the pointing sorted

Yes I say gym, then you can have pizza and wine after and thoroughly enjoy it without the guilt.

CSWS hope your evening is better than the day. If it's dd getting you down, don't worry, the 3's are even worse

Right, dh has missed his connection so i think I'll go and watch the Channel 4 news, just heard about a car bomb in central London, need to find out more.....

ChasingSquirrels · 29/06/2007 19:05

yay for carpet.
for clingy boy and teeth.
for bad day.
pizza and wine definately .
How old is dd1 with the not so good mouse control? lots of practice I guess, although ds doesn't use it much anymore he used to use it every day from about 2.5y - 3.5y. I have a travel mouse on the laptop which is only small - which might help.
dh home (was away from Wed morning) and bathing the boys, so I only have to put T to bed tonight as dh will also put ds1 to bed
ds1 getting better but slowly, I was going to work today, but ds1 very hot when he woke up at 4.40am, and then we all overslept anyway and didn't wake up until 7.30am (by which time we should have left) and he was still hot, so had the day off.

ChasingSquirrels · 29/06/2007 19:05

grr at the leak and car bomb didn't go off.

Jas · 29/06/2007 19:09

Hi CS and Macca I bet she went to the gym, despite us all(amost all) saying stay in and eat pizza.

Clingy Boy is in bed DDs are still arguing in the other room. 1/2 hour til they go to bed and I can open the wine.

mustrunmore · 29/06/2007 20:01

How well you know me. I'd def say gym but dont spoil it with pizza after, thats the worst thing you can eat!!! I'm on the treadmill in a minute; just got to trim dh's hair first, although ds1 is playing up, so we might not get chance.

I did type out a big long posting earlier, but ds2 switched off the pc[ hmm], so you'll all just have to pretend I've commented on stuff!

Superb rain here.

What's up csws? I very much doubt it'll be anything I can help with, but just yell if you need anything.Even just a rant.

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 20:22

I have wine . (I actually don't like any of the Wolfblass that I've tried, but will keep you company with my Fergus).

Did anyone answer my question the other week about watching Big Brother? Are any of you?

Jas · 29/06/2007 20:29

No BB here.
Are you?????

ChasingSquirrels · 29/06/2007 20:34

no BB here either, you either love it or just don't understand the point of it, I am in the later camp - lol.

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 20:41

I am this year yes, after not seeing even a single episode last year.

2boysmacca · 29/06/2007 20:42

no BB this time!

Onto my 2nd glass now....and a slab of butterscotch G&B!

Jas · 29/06/2007 20:49

Is it any good?
I saw the second series, but it is addictive. Mumsnetting is bad enough at 6am, without watching unknown people sleeping on tv.

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 20:54

It's good that they made it a bit different this year by having all women (there are some men in there now too), including some twins, but overall it's the usual drivel! I only watch the nightly round up shows though, none of the live stuff.

I'm eating a ham and coleslaw toasted sandwich, made for me by dh (he had some grovelling to do).

ChasingSquirrels · 29/06/2007 20:56

well at least it sounds like he is trying if he made it?
mine has gone to the driving range, so he does bedtime, then lets me have some ME time in the evening, then comes back later, ideal

mustrunmore · 29/06/2007 21:02

Nope, seen less than 2 mins of BB, sorry! Only watched the firstseries.
Ds1 still up whinging. So no run yet

Looking into replacing the boys carseats (long and very dull reason). Anyone ever heard of the Fisher Price ones? On kiddicare for £63ish if you buy two. Look comfy, but havent found any reviews. I also like the maxi cosi (mirabel, is it, or some such?) but too pricey, even if we went for pink which is cheaper! Sorry for sounding vague. Fuzzy brain, and too tired to do links at the mo! Basically I need... cheap, 2 the same so will do for both boys ie from ds2's age onwards, to as old as possible! easy to store(current ones live under the cot!), easy to get in and out, quite small, as I usually end up between the two of them with my huge bottom

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 21:12

You just know that despite saying that the reason is very long and dull, that I'm going to ask what it is, so........why?

ChasingSquirrels · 29/06/2007 21:17

why do they BOTH have to do from ds2's age upwards? I am probably missing something here.
for ds1 we have the britax hi-liner, was one of the which? best buys and argos have for £29.99. Buts its a 4+(ish, ds1 went in it at 2.75 cos he was so heavy and also tall) so might not be any good.

mustrunmore · 29/06/2007 21:24

Well, i warned you.... so I'm going to do it with virtually no punctuation to make it even worse for you ...
In August we're going to my mums and my Dad's day off coincides with our visit for the first time in years so we'd like to go and see him. We could get a bus, but all the better if we get a lift as he lives far far away in the scheme of things but obv we'll have no carseats there and no one to borrow from.I'm sure you saw how minging the boys ones are getting here, so we thought we could get them new ones, have them delivered to Dad, use them there and then he can bring them down next time he comes and take the blue ones back to to keep at home for future use. The point also being that we'd get more comfy ones for here(ds1 is ok, but ds2 still looks so little when he falls asleep...)But I only want to shell out if we end up with better ones for here once the swop over has taken place;its not enough reson to just have spares up there as we onyl go once or twice a year at most. Does that make sense?

Have got one trainer on ready to run

mustrunmore · 29/06/2007 21:27

Sorry cs, x post. I'll look at that one. Sounds like my kind of price! They dont have to both be from ds2 I guess, but I was thinking 2 the same so I could get a reduction on kiddicare And I'm so lazy, it means thay are interchangable when putting them in the car!

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2007 21:33

Dh is having a nosey for you now (but don't get excited - he'll get distracted half way through and thus reach no conclusion ), and he says that stage 2 is from 15kg (about age 4) - should ds2 be in one of those already - he's not that heavy is he?

ChasingSquirrels · 29/06/2007 21:37

definately wasn't suggesting the hi-liner for the Feb 06 one, definately NOT age appropriate, how old is your other boy?
know what you mean about interchangable though. it is a good buy, we have one and i brought a spare for my mums car (she has them 3 days a week).

mustrunmore · 29/06/2007 21:38

Hey, ds2 is big, but not that big Although Jas will prob beg to differ
I was looking really at the from 9month ones that will go right up to 11yrsish, tight fisted as I am As a guide, if you look in Argos, the ones we have are the highbacked boosters that are 34.99 (or were when we bought them!), in that lovely blue I'd really like something cosier for ds2, but has to be small enough so 3 peole in back of a car(either 2 sets plus me, or 3 seats, depending whose car).
