Clothes especially larger sizes and maternity wear, like i said, go for a fortune so always be aware of this, especially if you are "giving" it away and feel strongly that you want it to go to charity.

Even those so called charity bags that go round asking for clothes are sometimes dodgy and are to be sold on.

CaptainDippy · 24/06/2007 20:06

Hello! Just had a Magnum Classic. Yum!

Memory like a sieve here too - although I can remember Oooogs feeling about the maternity shop person on MN buying her clothes - I would be fairly fuming too - cheeky buggers!!

Party was cool - girls caused a fair amount of carnage but everyone seemed happy so twas ok - All in bed sleeping now, thank goodness!

Thanks for the tip on B Omega 3 Pinions - think I am going to invest in some, DD1 is being a particularly annoying PITA atm, so like SOKL, I am willing to try anything!!

Hope everyone has had lovely Sundays ....

Ooooh Pinions - give bottles to willing victim, go out for a few hours & just go "cold turkey". It doesn't work for everyone, but a couple of my friends have tried it & it worked - Just requires A LOT of patience for the person left behind .....

Maybe worth a try!!?

Eddas · 24/06/2007 20:07

Ahhhh he obviously missed you ellie, glad he's home and likes his castle

oooggs · 24/06/2007 20:08

hey Pinions you ebay pro - what's you feedback score?

Eddas · 24/06/2007 20:09

So pinions, I put my Maternity stuff on ebay then, not here? What about kids clothes? I have so much stuff here and could do with some cash, lol!

CaptainDippy · 24/06/2007 20:09

Yes - I am very glad he likes his castle - otherwise I'd be in a whole heap of trouble!!

Pinions · 24/06/2007 20:09

Yes dippy at this stage am willing to try anything! Willing victim does this have to be sm you know or can it be a total stranger lol.

Pinions · 24/06/2007 20:10

Eddas DEFINITELY !!!

CaptainDippy · 24/06/2007 20:12

Yeah - I generally just go to the local shopping centre to find my victims!!!

Eddas · 24/06/2007 20:13

when i get 5 minutes> i'll take pics and ebay them then. Trouble is it took 2 hours to sort and picture one age group of kids stuff. Maybe I should go the bundle route and just list the clothes details would be quicker.

backhomenow · 24/06/2007 20:13

freecycle
if you are offering something then you get emails from people that want it, most will sign it with their name

if you are replying to an offer then you have no idea who it is offering it, other than their email

i have a lovely toybox that came from my neighbour, didn't know it was him til i rang to arrange pick-up

backhomenow · 24/06/2007 20:15

Oi Dippy, I never did get my other Magnum

and did you remember to take the bottle lid to the party?

oooggs · 24/06/2007 20:19

thanks ellie

backhomenow · 24/06/2007 20:25

you send an email to the group co-ordinator, who then sends it out to all members, usually they send all they've had in out to members once a day. then people reply direct to you saying they want it

oooggs · 24/06/2007 20:33

right I have done that and joined a group - Do I view things or is everything daily by email?

backhomenow · 24/06/2007 20:37

it's up to you, i have selected to receive every email, there are options to receive only a daily list or none at all and view the site instead. it's whatever suits you, we can get up to 15 emails a day so clogs up your inbox after a while

WestCountryLass · 24/06/2007 20:43

Hello

Been AWOL most of this week as have been so tired for some reason. Did have a very busy week last week and fairly busy this week but that's nothing unusual. It's probably just the candle burning at both ends catching up with me.

I took Leo to the Drs about his sticky eye again and was given antibiotic cream this time and she did mention having his tear ducts widened if it does not clear up by 6 months. I am sure it won't come to that though as it is pretty common.

Yesterday I went to get my DD a birthday present but came home empty handed as I couldn't find anything! Any suggestions? She is not into babies and I don't want to get her into Barbie or Bratz just yet, alot of toy playsets are jsut more plastic to add to the piles of stuff they don't play with!

This morning I opened a kitchen cupboard to get a pan out to make the kids pancakes and an oven tray fell out on my foot and I can't believe the damage, i've bruised my foot quite badly and it is really swollen on the top and it is cut as well

Apart from that, nothing new to report, other than Leo is as gorgeous as ever!

backhomenow · 24/06/2007 20:45

aww WCL, it's amazing what damage you can do with innocent cooking objects!

maybe arts & crafts things for DD? or something for the garden?

oooggs · 24/06/2007 20:47

I can't access anthing at the moment ellie - I have had the welcome emails but when I click on messages on the group homepage I can't access anything - I think there may be a delay in membership so will try tomorrow.

hi WCL

Eddas · 24/06/2007 20:47

WCl ouch foot sounds painful.

For dd, you could get her something small then take her out for the day somewhere she'd love. I'm with you on plastic stuff though. It's EVRYWHERE in my house Only gonna get worse when ds starts getting stuff too

CaptainDippy · 24/06/2007 20:49

I'll post the Magnum to you, E - & yes - I did remember the bottle lid!!

How old is DD WCL - and what is the budget?? I love shopping!!

Happy Freecycling, Oooogs!!

backhomenow · 24/06/2007 20:49

let me know how you get on Oooggs
if you're worried about people knowing you there is the option of joining the next one along? alot of places have freecycle areas quite close together

oooggs · 24/06/2007 20:50

just read you can't advertise children

oooggs · 24/06/2007 20:51

no it wasn't that it was which email address to use!!! DH is here but he won't help cos he is engrosed in 'Coast'

backhomenow · 24/06/2007 20:55

bugger, hadn't read that

was retaining that as an option for when the summer holidays get too much
