Eddas - just want to say how much I admire and respect you for your posts on that thread. I am glad that there are still some MNers who are brave enough to not stand by and let someone be bullied.

Eddas · 22/06/2007 10:24

thanks.

If it were rl i would do it too, ask EAH

nuttygirl · 22/06/2007 11:11

Morning all

Hope the SE ladies have a great meet-up and hoping the rain stays away!

Good luck at the hairdressers Maveta.

Hi Eddas & Katy.

Formula feeders - can any of you tell me how much weight my baby should be putting on per week (roughly) cos HV was round this morning and Erin's dropped again on the weight charts and her suggestion is to wake her in the middle of the night for an extra feed. Now what I can't understand is that she's put 4.5 oz on in the last 8 days (which I thought was about right ). Also any other time we've woken her for a feed she's only taken an ounce or so then fallen back asleep. Any tips on how to get her to take more food????

nuttygirl · 22/06/2007 11:11

oh and hi to oooggs and weeonion too!

nuttygirl · 22/06/2007 11:31

Have sent you a funny email...not sure it's gone to everyone tho!

Eddas · 22/06/2007 11:39

nutty, if your lo is gaining weight i wouldn't worry.

i certainly would not wake a baby to feed them. my understanding is NEVER wake a sleeping baby. do you watch friends? the episode where rachel wakes emma put me right off waking a baby!!

i'm sure your lo will grow just fine. some babies are big/some small. the charts are just a guide.

nuttygirl · 22/06/2007 11:46

Thanks Eddas...I think it's a stupid idea too, it's just some days she'll only take 4 feeds so not really enough. Am going to try and get her to take more feeds during the day but doubt she'll take it (she's already got a mind of her own )

HV is gonna come out next week to weigh her again.

Eddas · 22/06/2007 12:33

nutty my hv and mil have both said that a child will not starve themselves. (MIL has 3 kids of her own, 3 step kids and 5 grandkids so i listen to her) Probably when she only eats a little she is not growing. Then when she takes more she's having a growth spurt. Try not to worry. As you said even if you try to give her more she probably won't take it. IMO you should be led by the baby.

oooggs · 22/06/2007 15:12

Hi nutty - this is how Erin has put on weight

born 6lb 14oz
3+5 8lb 7oz (3weeks + 5 days!!)
4+5 9lb 1oz
5+5 9lb 11oz
7+5 10lb 8oz
9+5 11lb 5oz
11+5 11lb 13.5oz
and she is above & below 25th centile

Jack is just huge

hope this helps, I wouldn't wake in the night, but at the mo don't let them go more than 4 hours during the day.

Katy44 · 22/06/2007 16:19

hi
it's very quiet today - wonder how the meet up is going

nuttygirl · 22/06/2007 16:25

Thanks all...it's really getting me down. She doesn't seem to want her bottle from me. She's crying cos she's hungry and sucking her hands but she won't take the bottle (she was a bit like this at 10am - only took 3oz from me), she took 5oz from DH this morning and at lunchtime.

Katy44 · 22/06/2007 16:48

nutty, have you tried a cup instead?
Sorry, don't really know anything, just sorry to hear you're having problems

OP posts:
nuttygirl · 22/06/2007 16:51

Well, I got feed up of her pushing the teat out so I took the top off the bottle and tried it that way...but she spat most of it out.

Managed to get a little more down her dribble by dribble!

nuttygirl · 22/06/2007 16:51

that should be fed up, not feed up

Katy44 · 22/06/2007 16:53

sounds messy! Are you going to carry on, or go back to bottle? wonder why she won't take it from you?

OP posts:
nuttygirl · 22/06/2007 16:55

well I went back to the bottle...but as far as I can tell, I feed her exactly the same way DH does so I can't see why she takes it better from him. I'll see how it goes over the weekend and if it's still a problem might get HV to come out.

leakyR · 22/06/2007 17:06

Not read thread yet, but thought I'd let you know that I've just sent an email with pics of George on it.

Hope all are well

nuttygirl · 22/06/2007 17:33

Oooh Lesley, George is a cutie! Which garden centre is it?

Katy44 · 22/06/2007 17:34

Thank you ladies

Nutty it's one in Northumberland (Heileigh Gate), we went with Paul's parents a few weeks ago. We live in a flat and someone else looks after the grounds. ILs are retired and slightly obsessed with garden. It is lovely - hope weather improves as we're using their house for a week in July and I plan to sit in the garden a lot. Bought G a UV tent especially.

Ooh and weeonion, babyonion is a real cutie.

nuttygirl · 22/06/2007 17:44

Ah...I only ask cos we need to go to the garden centre this weekend and thought there might be a new one to try!!!

Yes, I'm a very sad person

leakyR · 22/06/2007 17:46

I actually really enjoyed it. Bought a very handy picnic rug (the weather was better then) and a house plant.
I'm desperate for a house with a garden but will probably have to wait until I go back to work and we've got more money.

nuttygirl · 22/06/2007 17:48

That's one of the things that attracted us to this house...it has a decent sized back garden, albeit in a bit of a state at the moment!

geordiemacminx · 22/06/2007 17:59

Hey ladies!!

Leaky - my parents go to heighleigh gate all the time... pretty obsessed with their garden too!!

You'll have to let me know when you are at your IL's as I'm down at mums at least a couple of times a month, Katy and I were talking about having a meet-up.

Katy44 · 22/06/2007 18:59

hello
going to add a couple of pics of T to my profile if I can remember how!
