quite a way from Somerset Pesha

Pesha · 21/06/2007 21:38

i know oooggs, DP started it by saying I should go and his mate's girlfriend is at uni there so mate drives down every weekend and its only hour and a half/ 2 hours away. Then once I'd started planning it he said actually maybe its 2and a half! Which it prob is by car if you know where you're going but im gonna go by train cos it's easier and dylans abit coldy and been very clingy today so would prob cry all the way by car. Train journey is NOT 2 and a half hours though!! But am getting train that goes via eastleigh (if I really do go!) so if sol or anyone else whos going on that train is around do you wanna meet me?

oooggs · 21/06/2007 21:42

sounds fun pesha - would you just have Dylan? It would take all day to get a train from Plymouth

Sexonknackeredlegs · 21/06/2007 21:55

oh Pesha, would be great if you could come. I am getting on at Eastleigh at 9.53 and then WaspElly and Ange are getting on at the next stop which is Fareham.

Look out for me on the platform. Do you want to email me your mobile number?

How exciting!!!

Pesha · 21/06/2007 21:56

My train leaves at 7.20 I must be mad!

Just taking dylan, dp works nights so can look after kids in day, maia will be at school anyway til 3 and nathan should be at playschool till 12 but we have just bought a wii (dont ask!) which dp will collect tomorrow morning so says he will sleep on sofa all day and nath can play on the wii

Still I'm not gonna be there so its not my problem

Pesha · 21/06/2007 21:58

Yep have decided I'm going but really think im crazy! Will email you sol, shall i just reply to email of your pics? Which are lovely by the way!

Sexonknackeredlegs · 21/06/2007 21:58

Pesha · 21/06/2007 23:26

Have a question - those pre sterilised disposable bottles you can buy - do they have like a use by date or anything? Cos I was gonna take some EBM tomorrow to maybe encourage D to sleep abit better/longer but steriliser has broken. Have one of the pre sterilised ones in the cupboard, the bag is still airtight but its there from DS so possibly as much as 3 years old. Do you think its still ok?

weeonion · 22/06/2007 04:40

pesha - a bit late in replying but if the sterilser is broken - coud you not just boil the bottles in a pot for 30mins? my HV said that worked just s ell as my steam one???

have a fab meet up today - v exciting and hope someone / loads of you has cameras! caoimhe, big onion and myself have been up sun dancin for you lot. thre was a bit of improvisation at around 4am so hopefully that wont have scuppered the sunshine!

have a pal over for the weekend - love her to bits but she aint a baby kinda person. she saw c getting her dreamfeed last night and was all gooey tho'! she has bought her some of the trendiest outfits - cant wait for summer to hit scotland so she can actually wear them!!

oooggs · 22/06/2007 07:16

thinking of you Pesha - must be just about getting the train - have a fab day x all of you x

oooggs · 22/06/2007 08:26

hi katy, hi eddas - hope you both had a good night

Eddas · 22/06/2007 08:32

hi oooggs, was expecting a horrid night as ds had his last bottle at 5 then fell into his deep sleep at about 7.30, but to my suprise he still woke at 5am bless him! Mind you i was on here til about 12.30 as was having a discussion involving racism and had had a couple of v&c's

maveta · 22/06/2007 08:33

Hellooo! Happy Meet Up Day girls, very but hope you all have lovely weather and a lovely time.

Crap night again last night, he still only woke once for a feed (yay) but was so noisy after eating that neither dh nor I could get back to sleep. If we feel brave we might try him in his own room tonight. but he´s so little... of course if all 3 of us sleep better it will be worth it.

Got my hair appt today for highlights.. am taking N and am very nervous that he´s going to be a grouch and I´m not going to be able to settle him and will end up getting chucked out of the hairdresser with a screaming baby and all the foils still in my hair Am trying to plan to get there 30mins early (have to get the train 2 villages along) and feed him in a cafe or something so that he has a full tummy and then FINGERS CROSSED will sleep soundly what are the chances? I feel sick...

maveta · 22/06/2007 08:38

The alternative plan is.. dh´s work is about 10mins walk from the hairdresser SO I can either take N and if he kicks off, dh has said he will come and get him and take him back to the shop BUT then should I just leave him with dh from the get-go? It´s not ideal as it´s a shop and he´s the only front of shop person. It´s a small business so his boss would be understanding, I guess, but maybe not so much if N is kicking off??

Aargh, it´s so scary doing these new things the first time.. I know next time we´ll have an idea of how it went and how to do things but it´s like each new unknown thing is a disaster waiting to happen

...maybe if I left N with dh AND with the baby bjorn (which is pretty much guaranteed to settle him)? I´m just worried that if he wants to be held it might be hard with someone trying to put colour in my hair..

Eddas · 22/06/2007 08:45

maveta

You will be fine. These things are scary the first time. I was so worried about taking 2 kids into town but it was fine.

I'd go with your first plan. Go early. Feed him then at least you'll know he isn't hungry. and i'm sure you'll be ok to pick him up when they're doing your hair.

Hope that wasn't patronising, wasn;t meant to be

maveta · 22/06/2007 08:48

Not at all Eddas, it´s what I was looking for.. I knew you second timers would know how I feel and was hoping you´d tell me it would be okay...

and I guess worst case scenario I just never go back there, right??!

Eddas · 22/06/2007 08:53

yep just find somewhere else

Right best be off, dd due in preschool at 9.30. no-ones dressed and ds hasn't had his feed yet ooops back later x

oooggs · 22/06/2007 08:54

oh I need a hair cut, its been 12 weeks

Katy44 · 22/06/2007 09:16

good luck maveta - hpoe you enjoy it!
