LOL - I have had a few of those moments BP!!

No period here either, but have a coil fitted, but as its one with no hormones it shouldnt effect my period, didnt start again with DD1 until I had stopped BF'ing...

No nookie either, had a few attempts but either seem to get interrupted or I climax too quickly and its still too uncomfortable to do anything once I have

same as GS x 2

castlesintheair · 10/07/2007 13:12

lol @ lack of nookie. Glad I'm not the only one

babypowder · 10/07/2007 13:59

The whole nookie thing is a vexed problem in this house. About a year after I had DD1, DH and I had a terrible argument about it. He didn't accept that my cooking/cleaning/childcare/full time work thing constituted caring for him, that sex was more important than whether tea was made or whatever. So I am trying to make a bit more of an effort, but to be honest its not hugely comfortable or remotely near the top of my agenda. So we only have sex once a month or so, and I know that it's starting to annoy him again, which makes me more nervous about the whole topic ...

Vicious cycle

castlesintheair · 10/07/2007 14:20

I sympathise BP. Fortunately DH is extremely patient (I hope!) though it does trouble me a bit that we ain't at it like rabbits and I should be more worried about it, it's just long way down my list of worries at the moment IYKWIM!!

jabberwocky · 10/07/2007 16:02

BP, so glad it was a BFN! Prevnar is the other meningitis jab, pneumococcal, I think? They are standard here, but I know there was a big uproar about getting Prevnar on the NHS last year.

As far as nookie goes, things were actually pretty good in the jabber household until about a month ago when dh and I started having some issues...but now we are getting along much better and I broached the subject yesterday. Although we never managed to catch a free moment I have found that even if I'm not terribly in the mood, if I go ahead and initiate it then things, err, move along nicely and we really do get along much better afterwards

jabberwocky · 10/07/2007 16:24

Oh, and no period here yet either. Didn't come back last time until I completely stopping bfing.

Hair is falling out by the handful, though

SachaF · 10/07/2007 17:38

Expecting 2nd period at the weekend - and still b'feeding 5-6x day! I was hoping they wouldn't appear until 9 months though - I hadn't even started weaning 4 weeks ago!
Nookie - hmm, depends whether I am top of things or not (as in household stuff! )
Holiday next week - yay! but it's full board so don't want to take too much but until you get there you just don't know what you need! Kinda think in some regards self catering would be easier!

accessorizewithbabysick · 10/07/2007 20:10

Funny how it always comes back to nookie with this group (or maybe milo and teacakes). BP, you must be soooo relieved! We did it twice last month (woo hoo) without anything and I got my period last week. Am I safe, bloomin' hope so!
I think I don't know any woman with 1 or more children under a year who thinks nookie is a priority. Men just have to live with it, tough.
Awww margo, I wanted to upload more but the site wouldn't let me and now I'm away. Desperate to get one of him sitting up, he is loving it so much. rolling over loads the last couple of days cos my dad's house is all carpeted. Hope he doesn't decide to crawl whilst we're here...
Magnolia, I'm in scotland (Black Isle, near Inverness). Very nice, but still tired from the 8 hour drive overnight. How's family stuff? (())

Olihan · 10/07/2007 21:08

OK, while we're on the subject, is there anyone else (apart from me) who hasn't done it at all since they gave birth? I'm really pleased you're not all at it like rabbits but I'm feeling like a bit of a freak for havig gone without for.........oh god, I don't know when we last did it. I seriously can't remember, but it's possibly coming up for a year. OMG, feel even more of a weirdo now . I just can't get in the mood without dh touching my breasts but for some reason when I'm pg I actually want to punch him if he goes near them. It's even worse now I'm bf. He tried to initiate things a few weeks agao but touched my boobs and it was like an off switch for me. Some odd maternal instinct going on there, I think.

Well, that's TMI for you all. Got to go to ds2 now.........will hang my head in shame later.

weirdbird · 10/07/2007 23:13

Don't worry Oli, for me I couldnt cope with the boob thing when I was BF'ing last time round, it just felt wrong and weird, and like you just turned me off, it did go away after I stopped though (give or take a month or two!) This time around it hasnt weirded me out as much, but only cause I don't let myself think about it. Sorry for those that this is TMI for!

Accesorize, its got to be one or the other and I can't get any milo these days (stupid tescos) and am trying to restrict my teacake intake so my clothes might one day fit again (please tell me I'm not the only one still not back in there pre-preg clothes!!!) so nookie it is

Sacha - Am still giggling about your being on top

margosbeenplayingwithmynoonoo · 10/07/2007 23:29

Me Oli - nothing, nada, zero, zilch....

margosbeenplayingwithmynoonoo · 10/07/2007 23:30

Actually Oli, i've just read your last post and it's exactly how I feel.

jabberwocky · 11/07/2007 03:45

Oli, I know how you feel about the boobs thing. I have to wear a bra while we're, ummm, you know, cause I can't stand for dh to touch me there atm It is hard though, isn't it, b/c you have to have the time and energy for it plus a bit of libido which I have to admit is a lot lower now than it used to be.

FoeGlassSlipper · 11/07/2007 07:22

me too Oli

babypowder · 11/07/2007 09:36

Oh, I do love you ladies. I wish our DPs would speak so frankly with their 'peer group' - it might help them just as much!

LittleMissLate · 11/07/2007 09:50

haven't posted for ages what with being back at work and dd not sleeping so much during the day these days... you've all been busy - too many messages to read!

I also have had no period yet (still breastfeeding though). I have what are like mild period pains at the moment (started last night) so wonder if the first one is imminent. Dd sleeping better at night now so I'm not feeding every night and her solid food intake is increasing so maybe that is getting my cycle restarted.

weaning is generally going well but although she is demolishing all sorts of purees (fruit, veg, lentils, chicken, fish etc) she gags then vomits if I give her lumps or finger food (we're talking entire stomach contents). She's really keen on finger food - grabs onto things and shoves them into her mouth, sucking furiously, but as soon as a bit comes off and goes near the back of her mouth the vomiting starts... doesn't seem to bother her particularly though. Yesterday she mananged some tiny bits of overcooked pasta in a fairly runny sauce so we're going to take it very gradually - slightly jealous of blw's who can just shove anything on the plate!

babypowder · 11/07/2007 10:09

I've actually had to move from finger food to feeding DD2 as she was shoving so much down herself. She will cheerfully eat an entire banana on her own, which is great, but I need to get some balance there! So I feed her breakfast, she feeds herself lunch and some of her tea, and I feed her a bit of fruit as a supper.

She's an absolute glutton! I am starting to worry about iron, though, as she's not keen on 'meaty' lumps - she really doesn't like mince at all - and I don't want to over-feed her on eggs.

SachaF · 11/07/2007 11:47

Hmm, iron - not planning to start ds on meat for another month or two, I'm intolerant to eggs so have to assume he is, can't give green stuff more than twice a week due to the nitrates, so where is the iron supposed to come from? I'm sure iron can't be too much of an issue for a while.....am seeing dietician in two weeks so guess will see what she has to say?

SachaF · 11/07/2007 11:49

Oh, and am assuming milk gives the balance so not too worried about balanced meals.

babypowder · 11/07/2007 11:58

Ooh, Sacha, let me know what the dietician says. There's so much conflicting advice around.

I'm not hugely concerned with 'balanced meals'as I am also still BF, but euqlly, I don't want her gorging herself on banana to the exclusion of all else, including BF as happened the other night!

DD1 was allergic to dairy and eggs as in infant, but DD2 is showing no signs, thank heavens.

babypowder · 11/07/2007 11:59

equally God knows what that word is in my last message ...

jabberwocky · 11/07/2007 12:52

I thought iron was in all of the baby cereals? Ds2 can't tolerate the soy in commercial cereal so I've been toasting whole millet in an iron skillet before grinding and cooking it for him.

babypowder · 11/07/2007 12:59

There's no iron in baby weetabix, which is what DD2 likes to eat (dry - yuk), and I don't really want to feed her any of the 'porridgey' cereals. I do make her real porridge - but have managed to pull back from grinding millet.

LOL at 'crunchy'
