March 2007 - can't keep up

Hi all -miss a few days due to nightmare things happening at home and I can't keep up now - so started a new thread. Perhaps thought we could remind each other when babes were born - I have lost track at who is the oldest etc.

Been busy here. Prac nanny is okay but hard work - feel like I can't totally relax in my own home etc. She is not sure how to deal with /take dd1 - making it hard. Dd1 had major meltdown after swimming the other day and then at hospital appt, then nanny took eyes from her for a second and she is finally found out on the footpath beside a major road and a sensible and lovely man brought her back. Unlike hospital volunteer who managed to stop dd1 taking a lift anywhere but when she could not get dd1 to hold her hand - she just left her It is clear the minute you speak to dd1 she has special needs FGS. poor nanny student was beside herself.

Saturday dh was gone all day on training exercise and dds only wanted daddy - long day. I managed to get out to a trivia night - MY TEAM WON - i found the questions very easy and answered most of them ( not bragging- just surprised my brain still functioned) I took dd3 - she would not go to sleep - come 11pm still wide awake and beyond over tired... got her home - to see dd2 in bed with dh cause she had an explosive puke that covered everything in her room. She was still up at 1am puking and I had dd3 still crying as she was exhausted.

so long rant - long few days - I am wrecked!!

dd3 - 12 weeks old.

dh situation

muppethasakitten · 11/07/2007 10:17

Tranny ... have posted on your thread

Mossy · 11/07/2007 10:28

Lily have posted onto your thread.

Mil has taken Bertie for an hour or two ... am going to try to get tax credits sorted and maybe clean the bottom of the oven (exciting, I know).

kiwibella · 11/07/2007 10:34

Brighton sounds fantastic for a southern meet-up! I would love to have something to look forward to during the summer since we won't be going away.

(((hugs))) Lily... put your mind at ease and get on the plane to spend some time with your dh. You will feel much better once you get there and have seen how he is for yourself.

Kate is 19 weeks and due for her last jabs next week. She is another baby who doesn't like spending time on her belly but she loves being held to stand upright and wobbles about while I do this. I have tried her with baby rice a couple of times (she wore more than she ate) and a quater of a rusk a few times while we have been eating dinner. She enjoys toast - she goes mad when we have our breakfast and she sucks our crusts. We have kept up an afternoon bottle for about a week now because both she and I seem to run empty at this time of day.

Sazzy... when you visited the nurseries, did you call first or just turn up? I have to sort this out.

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, don't want to go back to work and feel horribly ripped-off.

Glad to read everyone's updates about how their babies are doing. I love checking in here but never have anything to add.

kiwibella · 11/07/2007 10:37

I love your mil Mossy

divastrop · 11/07/2007 17:33

morocco-would you be able to make the first 2 weeks in august for a meet up atall?

rosy-dp plays conquer online, its a free one.he has a WOW account but he doesnt play that often.
i will have a look at your thread in a bit.

i have just sat down for the first time today, having done all the housework upstairs and been to town, then picked the kids up and had ds2 doing moonies all the way home.dd1 and i started singing 'the wizard of oz' and skipping down the street, much to ds2's embarrasment(revenge!)

Elsie has slept through 3 nights on the trot now(touch wood).ive just been giving her those organix fruit pots.i tend to give jars the first couple of monthsbut only the organic ones.dd2 would only eat jars and only those that contained carrott, which i thought would be fine but i took her to the docs for something else and was told she was looking a bit orange!i moved her onto 'normal' food after that.

best go and hoover before i fall asleep.

I know I've mentioned this before, but there is a fabulous kids play area on Brighton sea front - with mega sand pit, chnaging area, chippie/ice cream van and huge paddling pool. Great place to hang out for a day and picnic

Jordi - well done wow they are getting big now aren't they - our first 6 monther!

foxcub · 11/07/2007 18:27

Tranny have posted on your thread [big hugs]

sazzybee · 11/07/2007 21:15

evening all

mossy I got the cds - thank you very much. This is probably a really thick question but can I listen to them in the car or will they make me doze off on the M4?!

E has been weirdly grizzly all day today and then I spoke to a friend who said that babies go through a massive growth spurt between 16-18 weeks and hers (she's got twins) fed constantly for about a week. Now I'm feeling bad as I carried on pushing E (who is 17 weeks today) around the park while he was moaning and then when I fed him he was just sucking on my boob for ages and it was getting sore so I stopped him as I thought he was just comfort sucking

sazzybee · 11/07/2007 21:17

oh yes and I would be well up for coming to brighton I LOVE it there. But not the first week in August please as I am going on holiday (yay)

kiwi - sorry forgot to answer your q. Yes, I made appointments at the nurseries I went to see.

foxcub · 11/07/2007 21:48

Where are you holidaying sazzy?

Monti weent through a day at 17 weeks where he just fed, fed, fed!

muppethasakitten · 11/07/2007 21:53

I love Brighton - would be up for coming out to play!

Posted on a dog thread earlier... god people get going on those don't they! But I was saying that I always make sure my dog is on lead if kids are around etc and how i disagree with the OP - but now there is another poster with a similar name to me who is bonkers feel like changing my name...

divastrop · 11/07/2007 22:27

muppet-the op of that thread is a troll i think, she signed up to MN just to complain about the Madeline advert before shrek thing, thats why alot of those on the dog thread had their backs up right from the start.

Elsie has been growth spurting for the past week, finishing bottles then wanting more half an hour later etc.she's gone all big and im going to have to find where i put dd2's 6-9 month clothes.she is also blowing raspberries and saying a-goo,doo,gee its so cute

Piffle · 11/07/2007 22:47

Lily such an awkward and rock hard place situation for you - is trying to be typically man tough and not laod you with the worry? Yes cos it's so much less stressful hundreds of miles away

good luck xx

Def agree with the 16 wk growth spurt theory, Finn sure is on an " all you can eat" open house buffet. Fortunately he also sleeps a lot. He has put on half a kg in a few days I've lost a kg, there you go one more notch into the belt or more reasonably more icecream As if Tesco were inside my mind, BOGOF on Haagen Daz. Who am I to refuse such a sign huh?

Very bad today bought Finn 3 things from the Monsoon sale - still not even reasonably priced even at 50% off. I tell myself I am altriuistic as exp and his delightful lady are having a BOY at Xmas and they will go down to him.

Modern familes

kiwibella · 11/07/2007 23:00

Piff - are you in Lincoln? I would have had a hard job stopping my dh from naming our baby Lincoln if she had been a boy !!! Dh jokes with my friend, who's parents we were staying with at the time, that we need another trip for number 2 .

Some baby photos of MissE (now 11) arrived from my mum today - Kate is the splitting image of her elder sis. It is so funny looking at some of the pics and realising that you aren't looking at a pic of Kate! Truly lovely to reminisce.

Growth spurts, size 6-9 month clothing ... I think my wee girl needs to do some growing! She is still comfortably in 0-3 month. My question is, with all this weather where do you find warmer clothing at this time of year???

sazzybee · 11/07/2007 23:01

piffle I hope you're right and I'll be losing weight as elliot puts it on. My appetite certainly seems humungous at the moment. I'm hoping Paul Mckenna will put a curb on it

I am going to croyde bay not very excitingly with my sis and her DH and their DS. But we will have fun in a bucket and spade sort of way

muppet I had a rant on that dog thread too. It's very argumentative round here at the moment!

lily - just read your thread. If it were me I would rush down there and bugger what he wanted but as I said to mossy I'm single so not really in a position to give relationship advice

Piffle · 11/07/2007 23:02

kiwi where I find everything - Ebay

Yes am sth of Lincoln by about 25 miles but go there often for retail therapy (limited to be fair)

kiwibella · 11/07/2007 23:02

love your pout Muppet!!

Piffle · 11/07/2007 23:03

sazzy we envy you your lack of dp/dh hassle

I had ds1 on my own and in many ways infact all but financially it was easier

sazzybee · 11/07/2007 23:03

x-post kiwi - it is IMPOSSIBLE to find any warm clothes in the shops. I have been on the scrounge for the last few days from people as I only have 2 pairs of long trousers in 3-6 months because I was expecting it to be bare leg weather, not cardi time

kiwibella · 11/07/2007 23:03

oh DEVINE Sazzy... we camped at Croyde Bay last summer. It is such a beautiful area. Putsborough beach is absolutely gorgeous.

kiwibella · 11/07/2007 23:09

... off to ebay . I can use dh's paypal .

Yup, Piffle, the financial incentive is a great reason for keeping dh around .

Interesting conversation (disagreement )with dh last night - who is thinking about returning to NZ to spend some time with his daughter. I suggested taking Kate to meet his mother and he grumbled about coping with her and the flight. Hmmmm... I need him to elaborate how much more difficult a 25 hour flight is to managing on MY own for a month??? Luckily I really couldn't survive with my lil girl gone home for any length of time!

Piffle · 11/07/2007 23:16

sazzy have some next trousers in 3-6 Finn has outgrown
do you want them?

divastrop · 11/07/2007 23:20

my dp was born in lincoln

life can be less complicated when you are alone i have found, but i couldnt imagine being without dp now.

kittywits · 12/07/2007 07:27

Tranny, really sorry about the situation with your dh. if I were you I would go and see him anyway. This is about both of you and if you need to see him then go. He should understand your need to do that too. {{{hugs}}} to you.
