Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
babyducky · 27/06/2007 07:49

morning,

hey em good 2 hear from u. Have u done another test yet?

samsmam hope your feeling ok,

MaeBee · 27/06/2007 09:38

my boy is going through a very clingy patch, nearly 9 months...is that common? i think it might be cos he's learning to walk, but its v frustrating that he doesnt want to go on the floor while i wash up or anything.

how long does your baby play on their own for? and can you go to the toilet without them bawling? funnily enough, it happens more at home than at baby groups.

gingeme · 27/06/2007 10:03

Oh come on Em wee on that stick. Dont keep us in suspense
Maebee sorry no experience of clingy baby syndrome but it is very common. I cant go to wee without an audience anyway these days lo usualy combats into the bathroom with me and ds3 always seems to want a wee when I do
Feeling a little better about my ds2 and the cat situation today. Im sure he still loves his Mummy. I sent him an email last night saying I didnt do it to hurt him etc and yes I also mentioned the new owner will keep in touch with the cats progress.
Feel very sicky again today. Relented and bought some ginger biscuits yesterday. I hate ginger!
Oh well better go someones got a smelly bum and it isnt me.

EffiePerine · 27/06/2007 10:12

Gingeme: do you think it's more about you not changing anything while they're living somewhere else? I think kids (and boys esp) do like everything to stay exactly the same

Maebee: yes, DS is getting ratehr clingy, OK if I'm not here but does not like me leaving the room (or the house). Is getting very clingy at night as well - we've gone back to co-sleeping for some of the night as I'm too tired to deal with him yelling!

Samsmam: can see why you are worried, but am sure it will work out - you've quite a while to go before the baby arrives and lots could change before then . You are in a good position re baby kit - if it's another girl you should be fine on clothes as well!

babyducky · 27/06/2007 10:51

maebee- kai has become very clingy lately, screams at most people now if they try & hold him! I'm not quite sure how to deal with it, he also crawls along behind me all day, untill dp gets home then he just completely ignores me!

hope your older ds is ok now gingeme.

I think he may be gettin a tooth at last, can def feel something there.

He has started to not want his milk anymore, most mornings when he wakes up he only drinks about 2oz, used to be 7oz!
Doesn't seem that interested in his other 2 bottles either, but scoffs his food!

some days he only has 10oz, dunno what to do really, tried cutting his food down a bit so he might want more milk, but he still didn't really want it!

HELP!

gingeme · 27/06/2007 11:42

Dont worry babyducky hell let you know when he wants milk. Keep offering it and if you feel the time is right drop a feed. Lo is still drinking 3 7oz bottles but only had about 4oz of his night time bottle the past few days. I think thats just his comfort bottle as he eats so much dinner hes too full to drink it. He still drinks all his morning bottle at 7 then has braekfast at 8 which he eats all of. Has juice at lunch about 12 ish then has his second bottle about 2ish depending if hes asleep or not. But he doesnt always drink all of that either. So its playing it by ear most of the time. But if hes enjoying his food and putting on weight steadily youve nothing to worry about. Hope that helped. [smie]

babyducky · 27/06/2007 13:00

thanks gingeme
He eats loads, & has cheese most days & 2 lots of yogurt so i guess its ok, also drinks about 4oz of water a day, which he loves now, just no interest in milk!

I'm not too worried at the moment, his weight has gone down from the 50th to 23rd centile thingy though, but he is very active which must have something to do with it.
i dunno, so confusing!

any news yet em??????

catgirl · 27/06/2007 14:00

hi - long time no type! Back in work full time now, so do have some time to scan and catch up - which I must do. Hope all are well.

DS2 has 2 teeth, think (hope) top 2 are about to come through, no crawling, but trying to! Still generally a happy chap and mainly smiley.

note to Gingeme: you were in my dream last night! You were my ds1 piano teacher, but we kept cancelling lessons, so I was paying you £7.50 per hour (very specific about that bit!) for us not turning up! how funny is that Of course, in real life, we don't have a piano - not one of us can play!!

catgirl · 27/06/2007 14:18

after just a quick scan - congrats to those who are expecting again - maddness .

gingeme · 27/06/2007 14:39

Lol catgirl and I hate piano music
Glad your ok and lo is doing well. Hows your older lad getting on with his younger sibling? Any jealousies? David goes mad if Edward tries to get any of his toys. Weve given him the (sharing your toys) speach sooooo many times

Mellin · 27/06/2007 15:24

Rumpel - you are right, of course you are right. Nina is very happy and playful and I would rather that over a grumpy crawling baby anyday! Today she has discovered she can clap and is doing it at every opportunity which is cute.

Catgirl - how is it going being back at work? Are you working fulltime? I am going into work next month to speak with my manager about my return to work in Nov. I want to go back 4 days a week and work from home some days so will see what he says when I put my request.

Mellin · 27/06/2007 15:53

Gingeme - how many school terms in the UK? thought you would know with your older boys....

gingeme · 27/06/2007 16:09

No Mellin I couldnt tell you cause Im rubbish. I used to have to look at my calender to see when half term etc was. Sorry
I keep trying to get lo to clap by showing him how to do it. He just smiles and looks at me as if to say 'you are funny Mummy'.

babyducky · 27/06/2007 17:33

think its 3 mellin!

EeyoreIsFab · 27/06/2007 20:45

Mellin - yes, it's three terms (6 half-terms) in the uk

EeyoreIsFab · 27/06/2007 20:47

I've been trying to encourage DS to clap too, but with no great response. I know he'll do it in his own time, but I so want him to do it with me rather than with someone else!

EmilyandLola · 27/06/2007 22:24

Evening all, to those with experience TTC -

last AF ended 27th May, no sign of it showing up yet, any ideas what the hell is going on with my body?

EmilyandLola · 27/06/2007 22:25

should say my cycle normally have a period every month, (very much like when on pill, no bleeding for 3 weeks, then period last 4-5 days then none for three weeks and so on, so I am totally confused

gingeme · 28/06/2007 08:30

Sounds quite normal Emily 3 weeks without then a week of bleeding. Sounds like a classic 21 day cycle. If your anything like me count 10 days after the last day you bleed that should be your ovulating day. Also if your anything like me you should be feeling a bit more erm sexy dare I say it around that time so let your body do the talking. Good luck x

catgirl · 28/06/2007 10:05

no jealousy yet - but ds2 isn't moving much - he does roll, but doesn't crawl, so when he does it may change!

Work is going ok ? have to be very organised the night before and don?t really sit down until gone 9pm most nights, but I know that it gets easier when I no longer have to cook separate meals. It is nice to be ?me? again and have a lunch hour ? and ds2 is such a content chap that he doesn?t care much who is looking after him. DS1 on the other hand is getting quite manipulative and pulling some stunts, but hopefully this will pass too.

Dumb question, but if you are working from home, do you have to have childcare or can the baby be ?at home? too?

EffiePerine · 28/06/2007 11:13

Mellin: I'll be working 4 days from next month. No problems so far (on 3 days). In fact, some days I look forward to going to work (not the getting up early bit though) to get a bit of peace!

DS has started with his childminder today - half day to get him settled in. DH said he ws perfectly happy (phew) so we'll see how it goes. She seems really nice and very capable (more so than me!) so DS will have to watch out - the old slack regime is changing

Em: my cycle is all over the place atm, but still bfing. The annoyung thing is my period afects my milk supply, so not only am I grumpy from hormones but DS is feeding all the time...

EmilyandLola · 28/06/2007 11:16

Morning, Ive jusy requested my brithing notes - 50 pounds...ooo eck but DP has offered to buy them for me

How be you all, still havent had AF - so now CD 35? scary...

Mellin · 28/06/2007 14:50

Thanks babyd & eeyore. Could have found it if I googled I suppose but was being lazy!

Catgirl & EP: I am looking forward to going back to work but will miss dd terribly and am a little worried about the how organised I am going to have to be to pull it all off!

Catgirl: Re working from home, my job requires me to be on conference calls and the phone alot so it would be impossible to do with dd at home and constant interruptions. Maybe if it was work you could go back and forward to (say on the computer) it would be ok. I know my work wouldn't be happy if dd was at home too, but I guess it depends on your employer. The main reason I want to wfh is to skip the 45mins each way commute and be able to pick dd up earlier from childcare.

EffiePerine · 28/06/2007 19:23

Mellin: I am not organised AT ALL but we muddle through

samsmam · 28/06/2007 20:06

Evening all, feeling quite rough!! I know it'll all be worth it!

Em- my cycles ranged from 25 to 36 days so were all over the place. I just think our bodies' take ages to adjust after childbirth.

My SIL told us she was pregnant- within a week of my dates practically Am really pleased for them- it is their first and a little cousin at the same time!

Gingeme- how are you feeling?
